    I have had this problem for a couple of years, probably due to the fact that all my settings get transferred when I log into Chrome: Most videos on the net play fine using Chrome, but on certain site none of the videos will play. This is not due to wrong codecs or something, because opening the same video using Chrome's Private Browsing Mode will play it just fine. Since most (all?) extensions are disabled when using Private Browsing Mode, I guessed the problem had to be found in my extensions, so I disabled all and also disabled developer mode.     "Deshaking" means fixing the video captured from camera hold in hands. Is there open source video deshaker apart from y4mstabilizer from mjpegtools? Patch for mencoder is preferred. My current command line for processing video looks like: mplayer video_from_camera.avi -nosound -vo yuv4mpeg:file=/dev/stdout -really-quiet | y4mstabilizer -n -a 0.8 -r 30 -s 100 | mplayer -cache 1000 /dev/stdin -noconsolecontrols -vf crop=500:380:70:50,denoise3d=3:3:5:5 -vo yuv4mpeg:file=temporary.yuv y4mstabilizer is itself very unstable and often crashes (and it didn't work at all until I have patched memory allocation in it).

    I have been looking for this since a long long time. I have downloaded a few videos from you-tube using IDM(all mp4). When I opened the video in VLC media player,a black screen appeared and started flickering.The video just does not start. What all I things I did-: updated my VLC Reinstalled my VLC downloaded another media player(wondershare--very very beautiful i must say).It played the video but audio was missing. converted mp4 to flv and then played in both players,still no sound. Its very frustrating as I want to complete my tutorial series asap.FLV works well,but mp4s fall flat. What should I do?

  • Increase Volume of an MKV Video from Linux Terminal

    I've got a large amount of .MKV video files which seem to all play at a very low volume - I end up having to turn the TV up all the way to hear them, which is really irritating when I switch to another channel and wake the dead because it's so loud. What I'm looking for is a command-line method to increase the volume (so I can run it on all of them quickly) that would hopefully work regardless of the audio codec in use in the particular file. (I don't mind hard-coding the output audio though). For reference, I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 on my server, and the files are being played back with Boxee on a Mac Mini, but the volume problem is the same on Windows too.

  • How can I reorder parts of a video file

    I have download a mkv movie file which gave me 3 files suffixed .001, .002, and .003. When i join them together with different tools like winrar, 7zip, hjsplit, concatenated file shows only last 40 min/1.22 hrs of the total length of the movie. If I play all the (.001, .002, .003) parts with vlc player, I can see that .003 is the first part of the video and .001 is the last part. Can anyone tell me how can join this parts of movie with correct position or how I can convert .003 file into .001 file.

  • HTML5 video (mp4 and ogv) problems in Safari and Firefox - but Chrome is all good

    Hi folks, I have the following code: <video width="640" height="360" controls id="video-player" poster="/movies/poster.png"> <source src="/movies/640x360.m4v" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'> <source src="/movies/640x360.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'> </video> I'm using Rails (Mongrel in development and Mongrel+Apache in production). Chrome (Mac and Win) can play either file (tested by one then the other source tags) whether locally or from my production servers. Safari (Mac and Win) can play the mp4 file fine locally but not from production. Firefox 3.6 won't play the video in either OS. I just get a grey cross in the middle of the video player area. I've made sure that both Mongrel and Apache in each case have the right MIME types set. From Chrome's results I know there is nothing inherently wrong with my video files or the way the files are being asked for or delivered. Anyone got any clues? Or even a clue as to how to diagnose the problem? For Firefox I looked at https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_audio_and_video_in_Firefox where it refers to an 'error' event and an 'error' attribute. It seems the 'error' event is thrown pretty well straightaway and at that time there is no error attribute. Very helpful... :( Help enormously appreciated! Thanks in advance... Chris

  • How can you buffer two online videos alternately while playing one of them?

    On my website, I want my user to be able to launch video 2 at any point in the middle of video 1 without waiting or refreshing the window. How can I buffer the two videos such that I buffer video 1 enough to let it start playing, and then buffer just enough of video 2 that if the user launches it at any point, he does not have to wait to view its first few seconds, and then I can come back and buffer the rest of video 1? If this is not possible, I could also look at buffering video 1 and 2 in parallel while playing only video 1. Thanks!

  • GoogleTv video using VideoView is clipped, even though its in a separate layout of its own

    Wrote an application for GoogleTV box to play a video. The video is a separate activity to the main activity. Wired up a button on my main layout/activity to to start the video activity up (using its own video.xml layout), the video activity loads and starts playing, but the video is clipped, only showing a few centimetres of the bottom. The clipped region looks like the views that occupied the previous layout (main.xml) . The intriguing thing is that if I push the back button, before returning to the main activity the full video frame is shown. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Any suggestions welcome.     I'm trying to convert a bunch of movies into h.264 mp4's using FFMPEG. These movies are sourced from various portable camcorders such as the Flip Mino HD and the Kodak ZI8.     I have been updating a Wordpress blog lately and found the turnaround time for content creation and editing is much worse than for Stack Overflow posts. Part of this has to do with being original compositions rather than riffing off a question. But part of it is the software. I am looking for CMS/blog software that has an overall editing experience similar to Stack Overflow. The most important features I'm looking for: Inline editing (mostly) Real-time preview on the same page are all important features for speeding up data entry. Markdown support (with inline and block-level code support) Syntax hilighting The features I must maintain from my self-hosted Wordpress: Somewhat popular/supported software, with extensibility support Self hostable Will work with MySql Wordpress has plugins for all these, but they don't necessarily work together. For example I've found a few markdown-on-save plugins, but I doubt those have a chance of ever supporting inline editing or real time previews. Also the most popular syntax hilighting plugins don't support inline code blocks, and I doubt previews would work with other syntax hilighting methods. If I get a wiki/web page content creation system along with it, or somehow integrate this into GitHub (with all the features I requested) I'll accept those as side benefits :) Formed as a question: Are there any pieces of content creation software for making a blog that support an editing style like Stack Exchange and Stack Overflow? Or magic combinations of Wordpress plugins that offer the same?

  • Extract segments from FLV file?

    Hello I'm no expert with editing videos, and I need to rip a few segments from an FLV file, and then upload some of them to YouTube. I don't know if I need to convert FLV to AVI for YouTube to accept them. I've taken a look at VirtualDub + the FLV plug-in but the video isn't displayed correctly. I also tried AviDemux, but I couldn't find how to extract a segment after setting the A/Start and B/End points. Does someone know of a good solution to do this on Windows? Thank you.

  • Flash video has become jittery in Karmic

    When I first installed Karmic, I must have installed a Flash player or else it came with Karmic. It worked fine and I have been running the Ubuntu updates whenever requested by the OS. However, now my Flash video is extremely jittery and the whole computer kinds of slows down whenever I try to play a Flash video file. I have no idea what type of Flash player is running or what is the best one to use. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

    I'm trying to create a map overlay for displaying a video stream (MJPEG) on top of a Mapview. Currently I've a standalone activity that creates a data thread for fetching MJPEG video frames. I'm using a handler to send a frame (as a Bitmap) from the data thread to the main activity which then updates the UI. I'm not sure how I can implement "refresh" for updating my "overlayed" video stream. EDIT: What I mean by "refresh" is - how can I update the video portion (not the mapview) of my UI whenever I get a new video frame. I plan to paint the video frame (bitmap) in the "draw method" of my implementation of the Overlay subclass. But the "draw" method is not invoked by me directly. Thanks.

  • What is a good alternative to Camtasia Studio (screen recording not required)?

    I'm looking for a good alternative to Camtasia Studio - really just the video editing part. My current workflow looks like this: Record audio (with Audacity) Save screenshots of the subject matter (websites) Import audio and screenshots into Camtasia Use the zoom and callout tools in Camtasia to go along with the spoken audio and highlight certain parts of the sites Given that Camtasia costs $300 (I've been using a trial version), I'd like to find something else that can do this well. I suspect that a lot of the pricetag for Camtasia is because of the screencasting features. I've tried Sony Vegas Movie Studio, but it was really a lot more than I need. I'd like something relatively simple (so that new users can pick it up relatively quickly), with the zoom and callout functionality that Camtasia has. Any suggestions? Edit for clarity: I'm looking for a program that will let me combine the screenshots and audio, and (most importantly) that has features equal to or better than Camtasia for text overlays, highlighting areas on the screen, etc.
