  • W3 Validation errors..

    I have 12 errors, but some are just pure non existent. Doctype: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Here's the error report, but the "duplicate specification of attribute "value"" simply isn't true according to my .tpl: {textfield class="quetext" value="Epost*" onblur="if(this.value=='') this.value='Epost*';" onfocus="if(this.value=='Epost*') this.value='';"} Also, does a textarea require the attribute "rows" and "cols"? I thought that was only for tables? And I don't understand what the two errors at the end mean: Line 586, Column 80: Attribute value redefined... Please help! Thanks :) (Sorry if things chop and change, I'm working on the valdiation now, to tidy up as many errors as possible.)

  • asp.net mvc validation must be a number custom error

    Hi, I am new to asp.net and I have a problem. When the users insert in a editor for a decimal field something other than numbers, they get an error "Field name" is not a number. But I don't want them to receive this message I want them to receive another message. I have no problem with this with required and range validators. Is there any way for me to do this? I am not refering necessarily to changing the culture just displaying another message. Thanks.

  • jQuery Validation using the class instead of the name value

    Hi, I'd like to validate a form using the jquery validate plugin, but I'm unable to use the 'name' value within the html - as this is a field also used by the server app. Specifically, I need to limit the number of checkboxes checked from a group. (Maximum of 3.) All of the examples I have seen, use the name attribute of each element. What I'd like to do is use the class instead, and then declare a rule for that. html This works: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="salutation" value="1" /> This doesn't work, but is what I'm aiming for: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="i0000zxthy" value="1" /> javascript: var validator = $(".formToValidate").validate({ rules:{ "salutation":{ required:true, }, "checkBox":{ required:true, minlength:3 } } }); Is it possible to do this - is there a way of targeting the class instead of the name within the rules options?     i'm often getting multiple errors showing up for an individual property, when I'd like them to be prioritized, as in, if Required is satisfied, check StringLength, but if Required fails, show that message only. I'm getting inconsistent behavior here, and I'm curious as to how the framework determines this priority? has anyone else had problems with this? Thanks!

  • Validation on ManyToManyField before Save in Models.py

    I have the following models: class Application(models.Model): users = models.ManyToManyField(User, through='Permission') folder = models.ForeignKey(Folder) class Folder(models.Model): company = models.ManyToManyField(Compnay) class UserProfile(models.Model): user = models.OneToOneField(User, related_name='profile') company = models.ManyToManyField(Company) What I would like to do is to check whether one of the users of the Application has the same company as the Application (via Folder). If this is the case the Application instance should not be saved. The problem is that the ManyToManyFields aren't updated until after the 'post-save' signal. The only option seems to be the new m2m_changed signal. But I'm not sure how I then roll back the save that has already happened. Another option would be to rewrite the save function (in models.py, because I'm talking about the admin here), but I'm not sure how I could access the manytomanyfield content. Finally I've read something about rewriting the save function in the admin of the model in admin.py, however I still wouldn't know how you would access the manytomanyfield content. I have been searching for this everywhere but nothing I come across seems to work for me. If anything is unclear, please tell me. Thanks for your help! Heleen

    Hi guys, I need to create a form that has many of the same fields, that have to be inserted into a database, but the problem I have is that if a user only fills in one or two of the rows, the form will still submit the blank data of the empty fields along with the one or two fields the user has filled in. How can I check for the rows that have not been filled in and leave them out of the query? or check for those that have been filled in and add them to the query. . .   • jQuery/JavaScript Date form validation

    I am using the jQuery date picker calendar in a form. Once submitted the form passes params along via the url to a third party site. Everything works fine, except for one thing. If the value inserted into the date field by the datepicker calendar is subsequently deleted, or if the default date, that is in the form on page load, is deleted and the form is submitted I get the following error: "Conversion from string "" to type 'Date' is not valid." The solution to my problem is really simple, I want to validate the text field where the date is submitted and send out a default date (current date) if the field is empty for any reason. The problem is I am terrible at Javascript and cannot figure out how to do this. Here is the form code for my date field.   • How to specify schema location in an xsd file?

    I have an xsd file Foo.xsd. I tried following ways to refer it in a WSDL file but it doesnt work. 1) placed the xsd file in local file system and imported it as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="file:///D:/wsdl/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> 2) Placed the xsd file in web root folder and imported as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="http://localhost:8080/Xfire/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> When I run the client I get null for the fields of response object. But this works when I embed the type definition inside the WSDL itself. How do we specify the path to external xsds? I am using xFire 1.2.6 for generating webservices. Client is generated using xFire WSGen ant task.

    I'm writing a login form, and it converts the given password to an MD5 hash with md5($password), then matches it to an already-hashed record in my database. I know for sure that the database record is correct in this case. However, it doesn't log me in and claims the password is incorrect. Here's my code: $password = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST["password"]); ...more code... $passwordQuery = mysql_fetch_row(mysql_query(("SELECT password FROM users WHERE email = '$userEmail'"))); ...some code... elseif(md5($password) != $passwordQuery) { $_SESSION["noPass"] = "That password is incorrect."; } ...more code after... I tried pulling just the value of md5($password) and that matched up when I visually compared it. However, I can't get the comparison to work in PHP. Perhaps it is because the MySQL record is stored as text, and the MD5 is something else?

But I have custom validations as well, and I would like to add more different custom validations in the descendants. These custom validations would depend on the class. If I write class DescendantA < Ancestor protected def validate # ... end end It simply overwrites the original validations. Is there a convention to do this in Rails?

    Hi, I get the following error when I try to validate a contact page on my site: document type does not allow element "script" here The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed). One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the "body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported error). I am using Joomla 1.5.7, and the doctype is <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Any idea how to fix this?

  • Regular Expression - Password Validation is not working

    Hi, I have to validate the password using regex. The password rule is like at least 1 uppercase and at least 2 numeric. It works fine except if the character comes at the end of the string. The regular expression which i am using is "^(?=.*\d.{2})(?=.*[A-Z].{1})(?=.*[@#$%^&+=].{2}).{8,12}$" Rules: minimum length = 8 minimum uppercase = 1 minimum numeric = 2 minimum special character = 1 It works for Test123$$, Test$123, TEST123$s, Test123$1, Test12$3 but it fails if the character specified comes at the end of the string like Test123$, Test$a12, Test12aa@, 123aa@@T. Please let me know if there is any fix for this.

    Hi all, I am having a tough time trying to find a solution to the following design related to h:dataTable. I have certain number of rows predisplayed. The first column is only checkboxes. The rest of the columns are disabled by default. On selecting a checkbox the elements in the corresponding rows get enabled. On submit of the for the values in the enabled row have to be validated on the server side. I am able to validate for invalid inputs but am not finding a method to use required="true" conditionally. Or any other method. Could anyone please help me on this. Thanks Barun
