  • I need to get form data from multiple forms on one page using $_POST

    My project is a menu that displays daily specials at a cafe. The Pointy Haired Boss(PHB) needs to add/remove items from the menu on a daily basis, so I stored all dishes with MySQL, and created a page which will load all menu items as buttons. When clicked, the button will UPDATE the item, turning it on or off. I need form data to detect which button was pressed, so my query knows which $menuItem to UPDATE.   • Adding an ADO.NET Entity Data Model throws build errors

    I am using Visual Studio 2013 express. I create a new project and then I add a database to that project. But, when I add an ADO.NET Entity Framework model to that project and then run the program, I get the following four build errors listed below. To try to remedy this myself, I added the namespaces 'System.Data.Entity' and 'System.Data.Entity.Design', but that didn't help. Also, I uninstalled and re-installed the Nuget package. I also uninstalled and re-installed Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows Desktop. But these measures didn't help the situation either. Please note that I used to use the Entity Data model just fine. But it was around the time that I did a system restore on my computer, and when I updated VS 2013 with an update offered on the start page, and finally, when I signed up for MS Azure, that I started running into the problem described above. Now I would think that uninstalling and reinstalling Visual Studio 2013, and then installing the 'Nuget' Package would solve all problems. What am I missing here?   • Working with Decimal fields in SSIS

    I'm using SQL Server 2008 w/SP2. I've got an incoming decimal(9,2) field incoming through my OLE DB transformation to my recordset destination transformation. It's like it's reading it as something other than a decimal? I don't know..I'm not an SSIS guru. So continuing on...the problem I have starts here with me trying to stuff the value into a variable for this decimal field. In a foreach loop, I have a variable to represent this decimal field so I can work with it. The first problem that I believe is pretty well known is SSIS variables do not have a decimal type. And from my own testing and what I've read out there, people are using type object for the variable to make SSIS "happy" with decimal values? It makes mine happy. But, then in my foreach loop, I have a for loop. And inside that I'm using an E*xecute SQL Task transformation*. In it, I need to create a parameter mapping to my variable so I can work with that decimal field in my T-SQL call in here. So now I see a type decimal for the parameter and use it and set that to point to my variable. When I run SSIS and it hits my SQL call, I get this in my output window.: The type is not supported.DBTYPE_DECIMAL So I am hitting a wall here. All I wanna do is work with a decimal!!!

  • Can I get the item type from a BindingSource?

    I would like to get the Type of item that a BindingSource is hooked up to or configured for. The BindingSource.DataSource property can be set to an object, list, or type. If it is a Type, it obviously does not have an bound item yet, but I would still like to get the Type. For a List, I need the item Type, not the list type. There is a method BindingSource.GetItemProperties, that accomplishes most of what I need. It gets the PropertyDescriptors for the Type, list item, or object specified by the DataSource and DataMember. The reason I ask, is that I have some components that I would like to re-use, but they are currently setup to work off of an item Type. The Type is mainly used to get PropertyInfos and then build a UI, but PropertyInfo and PropertyDescriptor is not exactly the same, so it is not immediately apparent that they can be reworked to use a PropertyDescriptor collection instead. Then there is cascading refactoring of everything already using these components and that adds up to a lot of work that I would rather not do. I've looked through the API docs for for a good way to do this, but so far I have not had any luck. Am I missing something or is this just something I can not or should not be doing?

  • Loading a CSV file using jQuery GET returns the header but no data

    When reading a CSV file from a server using the jQuery 'GET' function I do not get any data. When I look at the code using FireBug I can see the GET request is sent and the return value is '200 OK'. Also I see that the header is returned correctly so the request is definitely made, and data is returned. This is also what I see in Wireshark. Here I see the complete contents of the CSV file is returned as a standard HTTP response. But the actual data is not there in my script. Firebug shows an empty response and the 'success' function is never called.     I am new to Haskell and facing a "cannot construct infinite type" error that I cannot make sense of. In fact, beyond that, I have not been able to find a good explanation of what this error even means, so if you could go beyond my basic question and explain the "infinite type" error, I'd really appreciate it. EDIT: Thanks to the responses, I have corrected the code and I also have a general guideline for dealing with the "infinite type" error in Haskell: Corrected code intersperse _ [] = [] intersperse _ [x] = x intersperse s (x:xs) = x ++ s:intersperse s xs What the problem was: My type signature states that the second parameter to intersperse is a list of lists. Therefore, when I pattern matched against "s (x:y:xs)", x and y became lists. And yet I was treating x and y as elements, not lists. Guideline for dealing with the "infinite type" error: Most of the time, when you get this error, you have forgotten the types of the various variables you're dealing with, and you have attempted to use a variable as if it were some other type than what it is. Look carefully at what type everything is versus how you're using it, and this will usually uncover the problem.

  • Saving ntext data from SQL Server to file directory using asp

    A variety of files (pdf, images, etc.) are stored in a ntext field on a MS SQL Server. I am not sure what type is in this field, other than it shows question marks and undefined characters, I am assuming they are binary type. The script is supposed to iterate through the rows and extract and save these files to a temp directory. "filename" and "contenttype" are given, and "data" is whatever is in the ntext field. I have tried several solutions: 1) data.SaveToFile "/temp/"&filename, 2 Error: Object required: '????????????????????' ??? 2) File.WriteAllBytes "/temp/"&filename, data Error: Object required: 'File' I have no idea how to import this, or the Server for MapPath. (Cue: what a noob!) 3) Const adTypeBinary = 1 Const adSaveCreateOverWrite = 2 Dim BinaryStream Set BinaryStream = CreateObject("ADODB.Stream") BinaryStream.Type = adTypeBinary BinaryStream.Open BinaryStream.Write data BinaryStream.SaveToFile "C:\temp\" & filename, adSaveCreateOverWrite Error: Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another. 4) Response.ContentType = contenttype Response.AddHeader "content-disposition","attachment;" & filename Response.BinaryWrite data response.end This works, but the file should be saving to the server instead of popping up save-as dialog.   • Which way to store this data is effective?

    I am writing a game, which need a map, and I want to store the map. The first thing I can think of, is using a 2D-array. But the problem is what data should I store in the 2D-array. The player can tap different place to have different reaction. So, I am thinking store a 2D-array with objects, when player click some position, and I find it in the array, and use the object in that array to execute a cmd. But I have a concern that storing lots of object may use lots of memory. So, I am think storing char/int only. But it seems that not enough for me. I want to store the data like that: { Type:1 Color:Green } No matter what color is, if they are all type 1, the have same reactions in logic, but the visual effect is based on the color. So, it is not easy to store using a prue char/int data, unless I make something like this: 1-5 --> all type 1. 1=color green , 2=color red, 3 = color yellow.... ... 6-10 --> all type 2. 2 = color green, 2 = color red ... ... So, do you have any ideas on how to minimize the ram use, but also easy for me to read... ...thx

  • Handling Denormalized Schema with Eclipselink

    Hello All I have a denormalized table containing employee information. The fields are employee id, name and department name. The primary key is a composite one consisting of all three fields. An employee can belong to multiple departments. I want to read/write the objects in the table using the Eclipselink Dynamic Persistence API (which is infact a wrapper on top of JPA descriptors etc.). Example Data: 1 e1 dep1 2 e1 dep2 3 e2 dep1 4 e2 dep3 5 e3 dep1 5 e3 dep2 5 e3 dep3 A normal ReadAllQuery (select query) on the table returns a DynamicEntity corresponding to each row in the table. However I want to club all entities based on the emp id and return all the departments he belongs to as a list. I can merge the entities after retrieving them but if I can use some Eclipselink feature out of the box then it would be better. One way to do the read is the following: I create two dynamic types corresponding to employee: Having id,name as the primary key Having id, department as the primary key, I create a OneToManyMapping from the first type to the second one. Then when I query the first type it does return the departments to which employee belongs as a list of DynamicEntity of the second type. This satisfies the read scenario. Is there a better way of doing this? Is this inherently supported by Eclipselink or JPA? I cannot get the same dynamic type configuration working for the write scenario. This is because when I write the changes using the writeObject method of UnitOfWork, it generates insert queries which enter the following entries in the table id name department 102 emp_102 102 st 102 dep_102 102 dep_102 102 dep_102 instead of: id name department 102 emp_102 st 102 emp_102 dep_102 102 emp_102 dep_102 102 emp_102 dep_102 Is there any way I can get write to work with this schema using eclipselink? I want to avoid doing the heavy lifting of merging the rows for such a denormalized schema or generating each row before doing a write. Is there no clean way of doing this using Eclipselink or JPA? I had a look on on xpath e.g. $xml->xpath('//title') but looks for elements only. Basically what I need to do is to create a functionality where users can keyword search within the above data set which I receive from third party api in the above format. Any ideas how I can achieve this? using PHP/ Javascript etc. Thanks.

    I'm new to MySQL and as a learning project I'd like to make a recipe database. I'd like to the user to be able to enter ingredients through a simple HTML form but I'm stuck in how to label the form so that I can enter several ingredients into the database at once. I'd like to do something like this: <form method="post" action="insert.php"> Ingredient 1: <input type="text" name="ingredient"><br /> Ingredient 2: <input type="text" name="ingredient"><br /> Ingredient 3: <input type="text" name="ingredient"><br /> <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form> When I do this, I add rows to the table but they're all empty. I know it's got something to do with me using "ingredient" (the table value where I want to add the ingredient name) several times in the form, but I just don't know how to solve it. I would absolutely love some input on how to make it work.

    I've recently switched to Linux, having a good knowledge of how it works before switching, since I've had experience working with Ubuntu-based servers for several months. I've been trying to install a LEGO CAD program that I have found based on an open source library. Information on that is here. The program I'm looking at is called Konstruktor, and for the most part it should be working. One dependency however does not seem to be able to install. The missing dependency is "kdelibs5", which I know what it is and what it's for, but can't get it to install. I tried the package "kdelibs5-dev", which installed fine, but "kdelibs5" won't, and Konstruktor still won't install. I am on Ubuntu 13.10 with GNOME shell on amd64 architecture.   • Why Google asks for "Title" for MIME type "image/*" in Google Webmasters?

    In my Google Webmasters account, in Optimization section, under HTML improvements I see that Google has indexed more than 100 links complaining that these links has no Title associated with them (Missing title tags). However, these links all result in thumbnails of images and they are served as MIME type (Internet Media Type) of "image/png", or "image/jpg", etc. What's wrong here? How should I tell Google that an image can't have a title tag? Note: An example link can be see here.

  • Zelda-style Top-down RPG. Storing data for each tile type

    I'm creating a Zelda-style RPG using Tiled, C#, and MonoGame. When my code parses the .tmx file, it will get a number to associate with each tile type based off of their position in the tile sheet. If I ever need to change my sprite sheet, this number will change for many of the tiles. How can I guarantee that when I parse my .tmx file, I will be able to know exactly what tile type I'm getting so that I can associate the proper data with it(transparency, animated, collision, etc.)?

  • Why doesn't file detect the mime-type of mp3 properly?

    Something odd I recently encountered, running file --mime-type on a collection of MP3 gets the mime-time wrong a third of the time: $ for i in */*.mp3; do cat "$i"| file --mime-type -; done | sort | uniq -c 140 /dev/stdin: application/octet-stream 309 /dev/stdin: audio/mpeg There doesn't seem to be any obvious reason, as even MP3s from the same source, will sometimes fail and sometimes not. Bug, feature or anything obvious I am missing here?

  • ImgBurn fails to burn data CD-R disk due to "Layouts do not match" error

    I have a reoccurring problem with the program ImgBurn. Whenever I try and burn anything to a CD-R using ImgBurn it burns just fine, except for when I go and verify the disk. It tells me that the "Layouts do not match". Windows 7 shows the disk as completely blank. Although, I see on the bottom of the disk it has been written to. I can burn ISO files to DVD-R's just fine. This only seems to happen with CD-R's. The CD-R's I'm using are Memorex Cool Colors 52x CD-R's. I have looked on Google, and it seems like I'm not the only one this happens to. Unfortunately, no one is able to provide an explanation. I have included the log file from the last CD I just burnt.   • Reconstructing the disk order in RAID 6 with 7 disks

    a little background to this question first: I am running a RAID-6 within a QNAP TS869L external RAID/NAS system. I started with 5 disks of 3 TB each back in the day, and later added another 2 disks of 3TB to the RAID. The QNAP internals handled the growing and re-syncing etc, and everything seemd to be perfectly fine. About 2 weeks ago, I had one of the disks (disk #5, disk #2 has gone bad in the mean time) fail, and somehow (I have no idea why), also disks 1 and 2 got kicked out of the array. I replaced disk #5, but the RAID didn't start working again. After some calls to QNAP technical support, they re-created the array (using mdadm --create --force --assume-clean ...), but the resulting array couldn't find a filesystem, and I was kindly referred to contact a data recovery company that I can't afford. After some digging through old log files, resetting the disk to factory default, etc, I found a few errors that were made during this re-create - I wish I still had some of the original metadata, but unfortunately i don't (I definitely learned that lesson). I'm currently at the point where I know the correct chunk-size (64K), metadata-version (1.0; factory default was 0.9, but from what I read 0.9 doesn't handle disks over 2 TB, mine are 3 TB), and I now find the ext4 filesystem that should be on the disks. Only variable left to determine is the right disk order! I started using the description found in answer #4 of "Recover RAID 5 data after created new array instead of re-using" but am a little confused on what the order should be for a proper RAID-6. RAID-5 is pretty well documented in a number of places, but RAID-6 much less so. Also, does the layout, i.e. distribution of parity and data chunks across the disks, change after the growing of the array from 5 to 7 disks, or does the re-sync re-organize them in such a way a native 7-disk RAID-6 would have been? Specific help needed I would very much like help in debugging what is going on here. And whether suhosin is part of the problem (and how to disable it if it is). Thank you in advance for any advice or tips you can offer in helping me debug this.

  • How to save a ntfs partition which suddenly became empty

    One ntfs partition of my laptop was suddenly wiped out without any notice to me, when I rebooted from Windows 7 to Ubuntu 12.04 today. I am in need of help to save my files on that partition, which are important and unfortunately haven't been backed up yet. My laptop has two operating systems: Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. with a ntfs partition shared between the two operating systems for storing some data files (109GB, about 97%of which has been used). I have almost always been using Ubuntu, but today I happened to have to work under Windows. Following is a record of what happened in the time order, numbering according to which operating system I was in at each stage. When I started into Windows 7, right before being able to log in, it took a while and two reboots to configure the Windows. I thought it was normal, since last time when I was using Windows two weeks ago, it took very long and several reboots to update Windows, since the last time I used Windows before then was in November last year. Then after finally being able to log in Windows 7, I installed Libre Office, MathType (I got it from http://dl.portablesoft.org/down/?id=2515, which I originally thought was a trial version, but later I learned was a cracked version and felt wrong. I made a copy of it at dropbox http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13029929/MathType_6.8_PortableSoft.rar, not for distributing it but to list it there just in case it will help to identify the problem), and MikTex. I then edited some .doc files in the ntfs partition under both Microsoft Office with MathType, and Libre Office. When I finished working under Windows and rebooted into Ubuntu, Ubuntu did some filesystem checking and reported that the ntfs partition was not able to be mounted. Then I rebooted again into Windows, and found that the ntfs partition had been emptied, i.e. all the data files were gone, and only one system file bootsqm.dat and one system directory System Volume Information were there, with their last updated time being the time when I first rebooted from Windows to Ubuntu (in fact, it is 4 hours in advanced than the actual time of that rebooting , see immediately below) Also I noticed that the time shown by Windows is not correct for my time zone (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)), which is 4 hours in advance than the correct time (my current time is 3am, but the computer shows 7am). Same things happened when I rebooted into Ubuntu again: the ntfs has been emptied and left with only one Windows system file bootsqm.dat and one Windows system directory System Volume Information. the time shown by Ubuntu is 4 hours in advance than the correct time. I wonder what I can do to retrieve my data files back on the ntfs partition? If I am not able to do it myself, will some professionals be able to help me out? Thanks a lot! PS: I didn't think I did any thing that required emptying that partition. But there were quite some works I did during that stage right before the reboot from Windows to Ubuntu when the problem occured. Did I make any mis-operation?
