    I am running CentOS 5.5 x86_64 with JDK 1.6, Eclipse Galileo, and the 0.9.7 ADT is installed; however, after installation, the Android project type is not available. I have checked in the installed packages list and it is installed. Anybody encounter this problem before? Could it be due to my use of the 64-bit java VM that is installed on my system?

This binary format is not discussed in the in the documentation here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html Note: I want to access this information from outside the Android environment, preferably from Java.

    I'm trying to add new google-play-services_lib in my old project, due to which R.jave file is removed from the project. Also, as soon as i remove google-play-services_lib, i get my R.java file back. minimum sdk version is 11. I'm referring to following link: https://developer.android.com/google/play-services/setup.html I am following these steps to add library as a project == Right-click on My project - Properties In Android-Library section click Add select recently added project - Ok then aapt.exe has stopped working and R.jave file is removed from the project

    I would like to create an Intent that opens the messages application in a specific conversation. If a short message notification is clicked Logcat reveals the following: INFO/ActivityManager(31909): Starting activity: Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=content://mms-sms/conversations/3 flg=0x34000000 cmp=com.android.mms/.ui.ConversationList bnds=[0,586][600,682] } This brought me a little bit further using content://mms-sms/conversations/3 as the data starts up the messages app in the correct conversation. I now only need to find out which conversation a message belongs to.

    I dont know why the sample application from the android website gives me 300+ errors when i try to run it in ecplise galileo. The application i am trying is Bluetoothchat it is straight from the sdk sample folder so it shouldn't contain any. I have added android.jar and I do have an emulator. I have tried HelloWorld and it worked..Could someone help me? Thanks

    I'm having trouble adding a button to a layout that I've created in XML. I've tried creating a LinearLayout view, then create a Button and add it to this view but I just get NullPointerExceptions.. Any help would be appreciated. So what i want to do is, sometimes i want to start activity as Theme Dialog and some times using setContentView. I can't use <activity android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Dialog"> in manifest file as it will always display activity as dialog. So can we do it programmatic, i have also tried setTheme() method but it did't work. Thanks, PP.

  • screenOrientation to fullsensor got error in Manifest

    I am trying to work on a project that will work on 4 orientations. I set it on AndroidManifest.xml android:screenOrientation="sensor", it works but it only does 3 orientation. So i set it to android:screenOrientation="fullSensor" for 4 orientation. Unfortunately, i got this error error: Error: String types not allowed (at 'screenOrientation' with value 'fullSensor'). Anybody knows how to make this work?
