• Mapping a BigInteger to a circle

  I have a C# system using 160 bit numbers, stored in a BigInteger. I want to display these things on a circle, which means mapping the 0-2^160 range into the 0-2Pi range. How would I do this? The approach that jumps instantly to mind is angle = (number / pow(2, 160)) * TwoPi; However, that has complexities because the division will truncate the result into an integer.

  I'm trying to get the basic of Treetop parsing. Here's a very simple bit of grammar so that I can say ArithmeticParser.parse('2+2').value == 4. grammar Arithmetic rule additive first:number '+' second:number { def value first.value + second.value end } end rule number [1-9] [0-9]* { def value text_value.to_i end } end end Parsing 2+2 works correctly. However, parsing 2 or 22 returns nil. What did I miss?

• vshost.exe file in Release folder?

  Why there is a appname.vshost.exe file generated for the release version of my application? I might add that I'm using an external dll library and some unsafe code. What's even more interesting, my application launched from Release folder does not work correctly (it works OK when launched from Debug folder). It's bit hard to explain - feel free to ask if you need more info.

  I need to have an autocomplete functionality using jquery, and I've encountered ZendX_JQuery which has such functionality available. However, I've noticed that the entire ZendX_JQuery classes, are a bit old (the default jquery version is 1.3.2, and jquery ui 1.7.1). (see http://framework.zend.com/svn/framework/extras/branches/release-1.10/library/ZendX/JQuery.php) Should I use that instead of my own written code to include the jquery library and etc., and should I use the ZendX_JQuery_View_Helper_AutoComplete class for such functionality ?

• UITableView performance difference between Iphone 3G and 3GS ?

It is working quite good on the 3GS (could be a bit faster but that's fine) ... but do you think I should test it on the 3G ? • A good way in Visual Studio to have user entered time frame?

  Hi, Does anyone know of a good way to have a user enter an amount of time (hours and minutes) using visual studio controls? At the moment i have two numeric up downs, one for time and one for minutes that i then parse to create a timespan. The only other idea i have is a text box that a user can enter a "00:00" time in, and validate the input. Both of these ways seem a bit bad (in UI terms) though. Any ideas? Thanks

  Hello, I'm a bit confused about Javascript undefined & null. Firstly what does if (!testvar) actually do? Does it test for undefined and null or just undefined? Secondly, once a variable is defined can I clear it back to undefined (therefore deleting the variable).   I understand the basics of this search, however the beta cut-off part is confusing me, when beta <= value of alphabeta I can either return beta, break, or continue the loop. return beta doesn't seem to work properly at all, it returns the wrong players move for a different state of the board (further into the search tree) break seems to work correctly, it is very fast but it seems a bit TOO fast continue is a lot slower than break but it seems more correct...I'm guessing this is the right way but pseudocode on google all use 'break' but because this is pseudocode I'm not sure what they mean by 'break'

  Hi, I'm using sebastiaan holtrop's cover flow component in Flex. I would like to be able to add the sources to the images using xml. I would also like each image to have its own URL assosiated with it, so when I click it (if it's in the front of the coverflow), I go to that URL.
