I'm using python-social-auth in my Django application for authentication via Facebook. EnumType1.Unknown : (EnumType1)(Enum.Parse(typeof(EnumType1), value, true)); } public static EnumType2 ConvertToEnumType2(string value) { return (string.IsNullOrEmpty(value)) ? EnumType2.Unknown : (EnumType2)(Enum.Parse(typeof(EnumType2), value, true)); } public static EnumType3 ConvertToEnumType3(string value) { return (string.IsNullOrEmpty(value)) ? EnumType3.Unknown : (EnumType3)(Enum.Parse(typeof(EnumType3), value, true)); } } So the question here is, can I trim this down to an Enum extension method or maybe some type of single method that can handle any type. I have found some examples to do so with basic enums but the difference in my example is all the enums have the Unknown item that I need returned if the string is null or empty (if no match is found I want it to fail). Looking for something like the following maybe: EnumType1 value = EnumType1.Convert("Yes"); // or EnumType1 value = EnumHelper.Convert(EnumType1, "Yes"); One function to do it all... how to handle the Unknown element is the part that I am hung up on.

Newbie python error in regards to import

Hello. I'm a python newbie and starting out with using the Bottle web framework on Google App Engine. I've been messing with the super small, super easy Hello World sample and have already ran into problems. Heh. I finally got the code to work with this... import bottle from bottle import route from google.appengine.ext.webapp import util @route('/hello') def hello(): return "Hello World!" util.run_wsgi_app(bottle.default_app()) My question is, I thought I could just go 'import bottle' without the second line. But if I take the second line out, I get a NameError. Or if I do 'from bottle import *', I still get the error. bottle is just a single file called 'bottle.py' in my site's root directory. jQuery Autocomplete Json Ajax cross browser issue with Google Search Appliance

I am implementing a jquery autocomplete on a search form and am getting the suggestions from the Google Search Appliance Autocomple suggestions service which returns a result set in json. What I am trying to do is go off to the GSA to get suggestions when the user types something in the search box. The url to get the json suggestions is as follows: http://gsaurl/suggest?q=<query>&max=10&site=default_site&client=default_frontend&access=p&format=rich The json which is returned is as follows: { "query":"re", "results": [ {"name":"red", "type":"suggest"}, {"name":"read", "type":"suggest"}] } The jQuery autocomplete code is as follows: $(#q).autocomplete(searchUrl, { width: 320, dataType: 'json', highlight: false, scroll: true, scrollHeight: 300, parse: function(data) { var array = new Array(); for(var i=0;i<data.results.length;i++) { array[i] = { data: data.results[i], value: data.results[i].name, result: data.results[i].name }; } return array; }, formatItem: function(row) { return row.name; } }); This works in IE but fails in firefox as the data returned in the parse function is null. Any ideas why this would be the case? Workaround I created an aspx page to call the GSA suggest service and to return the json from the suggest service. Using this page as a proxy and setting it as the url in the jQuery autocomplete worked in both IE and FireFox.

Exactly, Cr- Carriage Return & Lf- Line Feed... It means, POST method OR readLine() not able to accept 0A & 0D value... And so I come to know that, LOST bytes are 0A and 0D occurrence in image's byte array.... Any one have any idea, how to do this, or how to use any another method..... Thanks -Akash

It appears to be an interaction between app_label and db_table -- as the test suite runs normally if db_table is set, but app_label isn't. (Using VS 2010 Beta 2 - .Net 4.0 B2 Rel) I have a class, MyTable, derived from BindingList where S is a struct. I can load the data grid easily using InitFromString on individual fields in MyStruct. The problem comes when I try to edit a value in a cell of the DataGridView. Going to the first row, first column, I change the value of the existing number. It gives an exception blizzard, the first line of which says: System.FormatException: Invalid cast from 'System.String' to 'MyReal' I've looked at the casting discussions and reference books but don't see any obvious problems. Why is Swing Parser's handleText not handling nested tags?

I need to transform some HTML text that has nested tags to decorate 'matches' with a css attribute to highlight it (like firefox search). I can't just do a simple replace (think if user searched for "img" for example), so I'm trying to just do the replace within the body text (not on tag attributes). It's like it's only going one level deep. Anyone know why? Is there some simple thing I need to do to HTMLParser (haven't used it much) to enable 'proper' behavior of nested tags? PS - I figured it out myself - see answer below. Short answer is, it works fine if you pass it HTML, not pre-escaped HTML. Doh! I am setting up a Lotus Notes account to accept emails from a client, and automatically save each email as a plain text file to be processed by another application. So, I'm trying to create my very first Agent in Lotus to automatically export the emails to text. Is there a standard, best practices way to do this? I've created a LotusScript Agent that pretty much works. However, there is a bug - once the Body of the memo exceeds 32K characters, it starts inserting extra CR/LF pairs. I am using Lotus Notes 7.0.3. Hello, I'm new to C# and am stuck on the following. I have a Silverlight web service that uses LINQ to query a ADO.NET entity object. e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<Customer> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } This works fine, but what I want to do is to make this more abstract. The first step would be to return a List<EntityObject> but this gives a compiler error, e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<EntityObject> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } The error is: Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<SilverlightTest.Web.Customer>' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityObject>'. Unittesting Url.Action (using Rhino Mocks?)

I'm trying to write a test for an UrlHelper extensionmethod that is used like this: Url.Action<TestController>(x => x.TestAction()); However, I can't seem set it up correctly so that I can create a new UrlHelper and then assert that the returned url was the expected one. Expected: "Test/TestAction" But was: <string.Empty> I have verified that the route is registered and working and I am using Hanselmans extension for creating a fake HttpContext.
