  • IE not showing jquery append() images

    - by Johannes Ruuska
    Ok, so i took John Raasch's slideshow script and modyfied it too dynamicly fetch images from folders on the server through ajax. The slideshow work like a charm in FF and Chrome but IE is not showing the images. And since IE's javascript debugging possibilities is close to none I cant figure out what is crashing. Javascript (indenting got messed up when pasting here but you get the code anyway): function slideSwitch() { var $active = $('#box_bildspel IMG.active'); if ( $active.length == 0 ) $active = $('#box_bildspel IMG:last'); var $next = $active.next().length ? $active.next() : $('#box_bildspel IMG:first'); $active.addClass('last-active'); $next.css({opacity: 0.0}) .addClass('active') .animate({opacity: 1.0}, 1000, function() { $active.removeClass('active last-active'); }); } $(document).ready(function(){ $.get('includes/bildspel.php?page='+page, function(r){ var file = r.split('!'); var path = 'pic/bildspel/'+page+'/'; var data = ''; if(file != null && file != ''){ $.each(file, function(key, value){ if(key == 0) { $('#box_bildspel').append('<img src="'+path+value+'" class="active"></img>'); //console.log(path+value); } else { $('#box_bildspel').append('<img src="'+path+value+'"></img>'); //console.log(path+value); } }); } if(file.length > 1){ $(function() { setInterval( "slideSwitch()", 4000 ); }); } }); }); PHP: <?php function getimgs($page) { $path = '../pic/bildspel/'.$page; $files = ''; if ($handle = opendir($path)) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) { if ($file !== '.' && $file !== '..') { $files .= $file.'!'; } } closedir($handle); echo substr_replace($files ,"",-1);; } } getimgs($_GET['page']); ?> Tested in IE 7 & 8 Any ideas? I have a deadline on this site for tomorrow (april 23) would appreciate VERY much if someone could figure this on out for me, thanks in advance!

  • Create a string with n characters.

    - by C. Ross
    Is there a way in java to create a string with a specified number of a specified character? In my case I would need to create a string with 10 spaces. My current code is: StringBuffer outputBuffer = new StringBuffer(length); for (int i = 0; i < length; i++){ outputBuffer.append(" "); } return outputBuffer.toString(); Is there a better way to accomplish the same thing. In particular I'd like something that is fast (in terms of execution).

  • What is the most efficient way to read many bytes from SQL Server using SqlDataReader (C#)

    - by eccentric
    Hi everybody! What is the most efficient way to read bytes (8-16 K) from SQL Server using SqlDataReader. It seems I know 2 ways: byte[] buffer = new byte[4096]; MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(); long l, dataOffset = 0; while ((l = reader.GetBytes(columnIndex, dataOffset, buffer, 0, buffer.Length)) > 0) { stream.Write(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); dataOffset += l; } and reader.GetSqlBinary(columnIndex).Value The data type is IMAGE

  • In scala can I pass repeated parameters to other methods?

    - by Fred Haslam
    Here is something I can do in java, take the results of a repeated parameter and pass it to another method: public void foo(String ... args){bar(args);} public void bar(String ... args){System.out.println("count="+args.length);} In scala it would look like this: def foo(args:String*) = bar(args) def bar(args:String*) = println("count="+args.length) But this won't compile, the bar signature expects a series of individual strings, and the args passed in is some non-string structure. For now I'm just passing around arrays. It would be very nice to use starred parameters. Is there some way to do it?

  • MATLAB pdist function

    - by James
    Hi, I am using the pdist command to find the distance between x and y coordinates stored in a matrix. X = [100 100; 0 100; 100 0; 500 400; 300 600;]; D = pdist(X,'euclidean') Which returns a 15 element vector. : [0.734979755525412 3.40039811339820 2.93175207511321 1.83879677592575 2.40127440268306 2.75251513299386 2.21488402640753 1.10610649500317 1.81674017301699 0.903207751535635 1.99116952754924 1.05069952386082 1.24122819418333 1.08583377275532 1.38729428638035] Is there a way to associate these distances with the coordinates they were derived from, i.e. store them in a matrix with the general row form: [Length xcoordinate1 ycoordinate1 xcoordinate2 ycoordinate2] Where there is a row for each length found? Thanks in advance

  • Remove newline character while XML parsing

    - by Prashant
    Hi, I am facing a problem while XML parsing. I have an NSMutablestring currentElementValue that has newlines into it. It has been received as an XMl from a web source. Even when i am trying to remove newline charactersets of substring the first 3 char there is no effect on the string. What can be done here? Regards PC Code is (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser foundCharacters:(NSString *)string { if(!currentElementValue) currentElementValue = [[NSMutableString alloc] initWithString:string]; else { [currentElementValue substringFromIndex:3]; [currentElementValue stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet newlineCharacterSet]]; NSLog(@"Processing Value : %@ with length %d", currentElementValue,[currentElementValue length] ); }

  • How to enforce DB field size limit to related Java String?

    - by Sri Sankaran
    What is the correct way to defend against trying to store more text than can be accommodated in a VARCHAR2 database field? Say the PARTNER_ROLE field of the REGISTRATIONS table is declared as VARCHAR2(80). This field is mapped in the Registration class in Java as public class Registration { @Column(name=”PARTNER_ROLE” length=”80”) private String partnerRole; } However, the setPartnerRole() method allows the user to stuff a string of any length. The problem is encountered only when one subsequently tries to insert or update the REGISTRATIONS record. Oracle complains. What is the correct way to handle this situation?

  • .resx file data inaccessible in Visual C#

    - by dsp_099
    What I'm trying to do: include some files along with the executable to extract them later. I have two projects, both with a Resource1.resx file (and some resources included from disk). In one project, I can use File.WriteAllBytes(path, Resource1.Image); to dump the resource to disk. In another, Resource1 is does not exist. I've done this before but all I can find is information about localizations (?) when I search MSDN for how to work with Resources.

  • What is the cost of memory access?

    - by Jurily
    We like to think that a memory access is fast and constant, but on modern architectures/OSes, that's not necessarily true. Consider the following C code: int i = 34; int *p = &i; // do something that may or may not involve i and p {...} // 3 days later: *p = 643; What is the estimated cost of this last assignment in CPU instructions, if i is in L1 cache, i is in L2 cache, i is in L3 cache, i is in RAM proper, i is paged out to an SSD disk, i is paged out to a traditional disk? Where else can i be? Of course the numbers are not absolute, but I'm only interested in orders of magnitude. I tried searching the webs, but Google did not bless me this time.

    - by homerjay
    Hey, So I'm dealing with a csv file that has missing values. What I want my script to is: #!/usr/bin/python import csv import sys #1. Place each record of a file in a list. #2. Iterate thru each element of the list and get its length. #3. If the length is less than one replace with value x. reader = csv.reader(open(sys.argv[1], "rb")) for row in reader: for x in row[:]: if len(x)< 1: x = 0 print x print row Here is an example of data, I trying it on, ideally it should work on any column lenghth Before: actnum,col2,col4 xxxxx , , xxxxx , 845 , xxxxx , ,545 After actnum,col2,col4 xxxxx , 0 , 0 xxxxx , 845, 0 xxxxx , 0 ,545 Any guidance would be appreciated

How can I get something like a backtrace that shows what exactly happened the moments before a SPAM email got in the queue of postfix? Regards

Then I have to count the number of times the second element appears. The code below doesn't work, can anyone help me please. for (int i = 0; i < x.length; i ++) { x[i]++; int high = 0; for (int i = 0; i < x.length; i++) { if (x[i] > high) high = x[i]; } }

  • Comparing Each Character in Java String

    - by user2760357
    I am a beginner at java, and I am trying to create two strings and compare each character. If there is a matching character or characters, the code has to print out the length of each string, without the matching characters. For example, if one string is "super," and the other is "perfect," the program should interpret the strings as superfect, and print out 9 However, if there is no matching part, like pencil and eraser, the code should printout 12, which is the length of two strings combined. Right now, I am having a problem with comparing each character, since I tried to use if(input_word.compareToIgnoreCase(input_word2) != 0) but it only compared the string as a whole.. any suggestion? Thank you for your efforts

  • Why does C++ linking use virtually no CPU? (updated)

    - by John
    On a native C++ project, linking right now can take a minute or two, yet during this time CPU drops from 100% during compilation to virtually zero. Does this mean linking is primarily a disk activity? If so, is this the main area an SSD would make big changes? But, why aren't all my OBJ files (or as many as possible) kept in RAM after compilation to avoid this? With 4Gb of RAM I should be able to save a lot of disk access and make it CPU-bound again, no? update: so the obvious follow-up is, can VC++ compiler and linker talk together better to streamline things and keep OBJ files in memory, similar to how Delphi does?
