• Receive data in same order as that of NSOperationQueue

  Hi, I have an NSOperationQueue, in which I keep on adding NSOperation objects that hit server and brings data. Is there a way to store the received data in the order in which they were fired? For example, suppose the A, B and C objects are added in NSOperationQueue in the order ABC. Now each of the three A, B and C will bring data in their corresponding threads. I want to store the results in the same order in an array so that the contents of array becomes "Result A", "Result B" and "Result C". Please provide a solution or a direction towards the right answer for this problems. Thanks Guys Basically, I want to design an autosuggest component which brings data from server (same as in google app), and I thought NSOperationQueue to be the best method to implement this. Currently I set the maxConcurrentOperationCount to 1, but I want to set it to more than 1, as data comes from the server very slowly.   Hi, I am writing a Core Data-based iPhone app and I am new to Objective-C. I have a bug that I am really struggling to nail. • Add jar to EAR in Eclipse

  I have several projects in an EAR in Eclipse. These projects themselves have dependency jar's on the build path marked as "do not export, do not contribute to others". Now in Eclipse I add jar's to the EAR via the EAR properties "Java EE Module Dependencies". I browse to the jar (add jar) and click ok. The jar is added to the list. When I click apply, the added jar is gone from the list, it cannot be found in other properties, it is contained in the hidden folder .settings in the file org.eclipse.wst.common.component. This behaviour does not make much sense to me, what am I missing?

• SubSonic IQueryable To String Array

  Hey All, I have decided to use SubSonic (v3.0) for the first time and thoroughly enjoy it so far however I seem to have stumbled and I am hoping there is a nice neat solution. I have a users, roles and joining table. SubSonic (ActiveRecord) generated an entity User for my users table. A property of User is UserRoles and is of the type IQueryable this is my joining table. I want to convert the IQueryable column name RoleName to a string array. I have only just started playing with Linq as well and know of ToArray() but seem to be missing something or this isn't the function I want. I could iterate over each item in the UserRoles property but seems a little excessive. I appreciate your help! Cheers.

• Hibernate: @UniqueConstraint with @ManyToOne field???

  Dear All: Using the following code: @Entity @Table(uniqueConstraints=[@UniqueConstraint(columnNames=["account","name"])]) class Friend { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.AUTO) public Long id @ManyToOne public Account account public String href public String name } I get the following error: org.hibernate.AnnotationException: Unable to create unique key constraint (account, name) on table Friend: account not found It seems this has to do with the @ManyToOne constraint, which I imagine actually creates a separate UniqueConstraint??? In any case, if I take this out, there is no complaint about the UniqueConstraint, but there is another error which makes me believe it must be left in. org.hibernate.MappingException: Could not determine type for: com.mksoft.fbautomate.domain.Account, at table: Friend, for columns: [org.hibernate.mapping.Column(account)] Any hints how I can create such a desired constraint (i.e., that each combination of account and name occurs only once???) • Dealing with XML in ASP.NET MVC

  I have a block of XML in a database which is easy enough to pull out using ASP.NET MVC, however I would like to access and modify the XML in an way more consistent with class instances. Is there a way to get the MVC (or any other model) to generate a data access (or perhaps Entity) class set from the DB-stored XML? If the above is rather obtuse, the question could be summarised as; What method would you use to best access and modify XML stored in a database from an ASP.NET MVC application? Thanks, Matt.

  Hello colleagues! At first some precondition to my question, I'm using struts2 + tiles2 + toplink. NO spring at all. The simplest scenario - is to display list of entities on the page. To optimize resolving JPA's EntityManager I would like to create helper (JPAResourceBean) that implements lazy load of entity manager. For this purposes I'm going to use struts2's bean declaration: <bean name="myfactory" class="my.model.JPAResourceBean" scope="session" optional="false"/> Why bean is not instantiated neither in session? (I'm using s:property just for debug) ... <s:property value="#session.myfactory" default="buka.1"/> ... nor in plain bean list: ... <s:property value="#myfactory" default="buka.2"/> ... May be the second part of question is - how to resolve this bean from java code?

• Jabber .net rostertree error

  Hi, Whenever I add the rostertree control to my form, I can see that the PresenceManager and RosterManager property values for it have this error listed: "Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewTextBoxColumn' to type 'System.ComponentModel.Component'." I can compile the solution and all but this error keeps popping up randomly. Can someone advice when this may happen. I'm thinking it has to do with the controls not being added properly. I'm using Visual Studio 2008. Thanks.

  Hi all, I have found that user can associate help with his application using Help Viewer. Users typically launch Help Viewer by choosing the application help item from the Help menu, or by typing a query in the Spotlight For Help text field in the Help menu. I have some different requirement: I want to associate component specific help to my application, means that there will be a small '?' marked icon at bottom left corner of a window and when user clicks it, appropriate help page will open. This case is similar to 'print' panels where there is a small '?' icon. Can anyone suggest me some way to accomplish it, if it is possible? Thanks, Miraaj

  Hi all, I am building a database as a simple exercise, it could be hosted on any database server, so I am trying to keep things as much standard as possible. Basically what I would like to do is a 'code' table that get referenced by other entities. I explain: xcode id code r role p property code r admin r staff p title .... then I would like to have some view like: role (select * from code where xcode='r') r admin r staff property (select * from code where xcode='p') p title then, suppose we have an entity myentity id - 1 role - admin (foreign key to role) title - title (foreign key to property) Obviously I cannot create foreign key to a view, but this is to tell the idea I have in mind. How can I reflect such behaviour using whenever possible, standard sql syntax, then as a second option, database additional features like trigger ecc... ? Because if I tell that role and title in myentity are foreign key to 'code', instead of the views, nothing would stop me to insert a role in title field. thanks Leonardo

• Cakephp doesn't write a cookie

  Hello! I have a problem with writing cookies in cakephp and even don't know how to debug it or where too look for a clue. I've inherited a project where cookie were only created using the Session component, of course i added 'Cookie' to $components array in app_controller and put this in beforeFilter: $this->Cookie->name = 'foo'; $this->Cookie->path = '/home/~nick'; $this->Cookie->domain = 'hostname'; $this->Cookie->secure = false; //i.e. only sent if using secure HTTPS $this->Cookie->key = 'some key'; and in some action i use: $this->Cookie->write('key', 'value'); I access page by http://hostname/home/~nick/foo and actually try to put even something so silly. I doesn't work. I would be really gratefully for any clue where to search problem. Thanks!

When I attempt to reference the defined value I get Undefined preprocessor variable '$(var.MAGE_FOLDER)' back in my face. I guess there is something trivial I am missing here... • Show different sub-sets in edit view

  In the context of C# 4, ASP.NET MVC 2, and NHibernate; I've got the following scenario: Let's assume an entity Product that have an association to ProductType. In a product edit view; how do I implement that only a sub-set of the product's properties are shown in an elegant and DRY way? Use a product view model builder, and from different view models automagically generate the view with my own Html.EditorForModel() (including drop-downs and other stuff not out-of-the-box)? Attribute the properties of one view model and use the Html.EditorForModel() way aforementioned? Use one model, but implement different web controls (view strategies) (can it be done DRY?)? Something else entirely?

• CSS3PIE: Internet Explorer 6 doesn't download PIE.htc

  I'm using the very impressive CSS3PIE (http://css3pie.com) library to add support for CSS3 styles in IE6-8. It works fine in versions 7 and 8 and took a lot of pain out of the process. However, in IE6 no CSS3 styles are shown at all. In fact, looking at the server logs, I can see that IE6 doesn't even download the PIE.htc file, which is necessary for the magic to work. The content type for the file is set correctly as text/x-component, it's referenced by absolute URL, and works fine in IE7 and 8. I'm using Compass (www.compass-style.org) and the PIE helper which makes the CSS look like this: #shopping_cart { behavior: url("/media/static/css/PIE.htc"); position: relative; border-radius: 10px; } I can't figure out what the problem is. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause IE6 to skip the behavior definition altogether? Cheers, Jonas

  Hello I can't find any resources which can answer why I'm getting an error with this: oncomplete="#{MyBacking.oError ? #{rich:component('oErrorPanel')}.show() : return false;}" in a richfaces a4j:commandButton. oError is referring to a method in my bean called isOError. I'm getting the error SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet Faces Servlet threw exception org.apache.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered " "?" "? "" at line 1, column 30. Was expecting one of: "}" ... "." ... ... I want to say 'if a method returns true, show modal panel A otherwise false'. Any help much appreciated.

• Subsonic custom mapping of objects to tables

  Geeting, I'm using Compact Framework 3.5 and have tenatively settled on a custom build of Subsonic 3.0 to do data access. The trouble is that I am used to developing model-first but am also interested in keeping control of my DB schema. Therefore, neither ActiveRecord or Repository appears to meet my needs, and I want to use my existing POCO model and map it to my existing tables. I'm used to doing this via NHibernate and Entity Framework. After some investigation, it appears that I might be able to author a custom QueryMapping to give me the custom mapping I want. Before I start down this path, however, I'd like to see some kind of example of this being done. I can't seem to find any on the web, and wonder if anyone could give input on experience with Subsonic, model-first and a custom Table-per-Type and Table-per-Hierarchy mapping.

  jqGrid seems pretty good to me, but I don't like the price ($299! - for a JQuery plugin this seems waaay to high to me) Does anyone know of a similar component, for use with ASP.NET MVC, which is either free or less pricey? • How do I indicate success and failure with colour?

  I need to make a Java component that turns the background a certain colour when a process passed, and another colour when the process failed. My first thought was: green for success, red for failure. But then I read that 10% of males can't differentiate between these two colours. What would be a better combination of colours? (For the nitpickers: yes, I know that colour alone doesn't suffice, that text, shape, and noise can also be used. Nevertheless I am asking about the appropriate use of colour.)

  We are using Antlr StringTemplates to give control over how a Entity's Name is output. The basic Stringtemplate is $FirstName$ $Initial$ $LastName$, $Suffix$, $Degree$ I want to add some smarts to that template so that the commas are only output when necessary i.e. The first comma is only output when there is a Suffix or Degree and the second commas is only output if there is a suffix. I tried the following template string bit it does not work.   I work on a project where we have to create unit tests for all of our simple beans (POJOs). Is there any point to creating a unit test for POJOs if all they consist of is getters and setters? Is it a safe assumption to assume POJOs will work about 100% of the time? Duplicate of - Should @Entity Pojos be tested? • Enum in Hibernate, persisting as an enum

  In my MySQL database, there's the column "gender enum('male','female')" I've created my enum "com.mydomain.myapp.enums.Gender", and in my Person entity I'm defined "Gender gender". Now I'd want to keep the enum type in my MySQL database, but when I launch my application I get: Wrong column type in MyApp.Person for column Gender. Found: enum, expected: integer Why is this? This would be the equivalent as if I'd annotated my "Gender gender" with "@Enumerated(EnumType.ORDINAL)", which I haven't. EnumType seems only to be able to be either ORDINAL or STRING, so how do I specify that it should treat the field as an enum, not as an int? (not that there's much difference, but enough for it to get upset about it.)

Previously, for my similar Winforms App, I had extended the IComponent (Component Class) and wrote our VS Like designer kind of custom control which will allow users to drag drop controls from the visual studio toolbox and then I export it as a VisualStudio C#&VB ItemTemplate. Now I am trying to recreate the same control using WPF considering its power, extensiblity. Could anyone shed some lights on this, on what would be the most preferable way of doing this ? • Is there any way, short of "copy and paste inheritence" to share a .net class with a Silverlight app

  I have a project in two parts: a Silverlight front end and a WCF duplex service. Ideally, I would like to pass a message of a custom type (call it TradeOffer) from the WCF service to be consumed by the Silverlight application. When I try to, I get an error that indicates I can't pass an object of an unknown type across the wire like that and that, maybe, I could do so if I used the InternalsVisibleTo attribute on the server component. I'm not sure if that would work in this environment and know it would be messy in development. I originally put the message definition in a library to be used by both the service and the client, but couldn't add a reference to the library from the Silverlight client (because it's not a Silverlight assembly.) Is there some way I can access the definition of a message class from both the Silverlight client that consumes it and the service that publishes it without using the InternalsVisibleTo attribute or should I write the application another way?

• Linq to SQL ordered child collection

  Is there a way to define a default order column from a child collection? In my case, I have a Form entity that has a collection of FormItem entities called FormItems. FormItem has a property called DisplayOrder (int). I want to make sure that any Form entities I return from a method have that collection properly ordered. Is there a way to do this before returning the result? For example, I tried this but the list is not actually sorted: var form = context.Forms.FirstOrDefault(x => x.IsDeleted == false && x.FormName == formName); if (form != null) { form.FormItems.OrderBy(x => x.DisplayOrder); // I can't even figure out a way to cast this next line so that it will compile // form.FormItems = form.FormItems.OrderBy(x => x.DisplayOrder); } return form; Is there a way to do this without using DataLoadOptions?
