• Devoxx Coming Up!

   Devoxx, the biggest Java conference in Europe, is  only a couple of days away. From November 12th to  16th, over 3,400 developers from all over Europe  are descending on Antwerp, Belgium for a week  focused on Java.  At the Oracle booth, Java experts will be available  to answer your  questions and demo the new  features of the Java Platform, including Java  Embedded,  JavaFX, JavaSE and Java EE.  Beer bash at the booth Tuesday from 17:30-19:30 and Wednesday/Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00.   Quick shoutout for the Fusion Applications (Cloud Applications to you) Developer Relations blog post about translating Fusion apps customizations using composers and other tools and utilities provided by Oracle. Great to see Fusion help customizations included in the post, as well as software, and it also includes a nice heads up on what's coming to enable customers to make changes to text themselves in Release 8 of Oracle's Cloud Applications. I am proud to say that I logged the enhancements for what's coming in Release 8  to come to life and also wrote a spec for its requirements based on the customer research done internationally through the Oracle Usability Advisory Board). Remember,  copywriting is design and translated versions means reflecting local UX requirements too! Nice post guys!

• SPARC T5-4 Engineering Simulation Solution

  A recent Oracle internal performance evaluation for computer-based product design demonstrated that Oracle's SPARC T5-4 server running MSC's SimManager simulation software with Oracle Database 12c consolidates the work of multiple x86 servers while delivering better overall performance.   Engineering simulation solutions have taken the center stage in helping companies design and develop innovative products while reducing physical prototyping costs, and exploring a larger design space, resulting in more design possibilities. For this solution, a single SPARC T5-4 server running Oracle Solaris 11 was deployed to consolidate the MSC SimManager server, the Oracle Database 12c server, and the web application server onto a single platform. • Flash Retirement - HTML to be "the one"

As you might have read the support.oracle.com  flash site will be replaced with what you see in supporthtml.oracle.com,  once we get the rest of the features and functions ported over to the html site. The HTML site is written using Oracle's ADF stack. So we are now pretty much 100% eating our own dog food.  More details to follow.
