  • Eclipse BIRT: Problem with number of rows in a dataset

    Hello!:-) My new Problem is the following: An sql-query to a database (DB2) returns 1500 rows but BIRT shows me only 500 in the dataset-editior. To count them i used a computed column (Integer) with the following logic: Total.count(row["VPK"]) I'm using the RCP-Designer (BIRT 2.1.3). How can i get the other rows as well? Patrick

    I have a ListView in which one of the column contains combo box. I have binded the selectedItem of a Listview, so that I get the current object (selected row ) in the listview. When I do any operation in a combo box like selection change then the listview row ( in which that combo box belongs) is not selected be default and hence my selectedItem gives null or previous row selected object.     If I create a Google apps script, can I hook it up to Google spreadsheet to run based on an event, or must I manually invoke it? I don't know if Google spreadsheet supports any events. For example: a Google app script that strikes out rows in the spreadsheet that have been marked completed by way of a column having the digit 1 beside completed rows. I would like this to run whenever a row is modified, or even when the spreadsheet is first loaded.

    I have flex advancedDataGrid (could use dataGrid if that works better, though i like my meta-column headers), and i want to have a component popup on top of a selected row. The problem is, i can figure out how to reference an actual rendered row of a datagrid (rather than an item of the dataprovider) in order to get its position on the screen. Does anyone have any theories on how to access a "row" of a datagrid, or at least get its position? Cheers

    Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codepage name (iso-8859-2 in this case).   • How does mysql define DISTINCT() in reference documentation

    EDIT: This question is about finding definitive reference to MySQL syntax on SELECT modifying keywords and functions. /EDIT AFAIK SQL defines two uses of DISTINCT keywords - SELECT DISTINCT field... and SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT field) ... However in one of web applications that I administer I've noticed performance issues on queries like SELECT DISTINCT(field1), field2, field3 ... DISTINCT() on a single column makes no sense and I am almost sure it is interpreted as SELECT DISTINCT field1, field2, field3 ... but how can I prove this? I've searched mysql site for a reference on this particular syntax, but could not find any. Does anyone have a link to definition of DISTINCT() in mysql or knows about other authoritative source on this? Best EDIT After asking the same question on mysql forums I learned that while parsing the SQL mysql does not care about whitespace between functions and column names (but I am still missing a reference). As it seems you can have whitespace between functions and the parenthesis SELECT LEFT (field1,1), field2... and get mysql to understand it as SELECT LEFT(field,1) Similarly SELECT DISTINCT(field1), field2... seems to get decomposed to SELECT DISTINCT (field1), field2... and then DISTINCT is taken not as some undefined (or undocumented) function, but as SELECT modifying keyword and the parenthesis around field1 are evaluated as if they were part of field expression. It would be great if someone would have a pointer to documentation where it is stated that the whitespace between functions and parenthesis is not significant or to provide links to apropriate MySQL forums, mailing lists where I could raise a question to put this into reference. EDIT I have found a reference to server option IGNORE SPACE. It states that "The IGNORE SPACE SQL mode can be used to modify how the parser treats function names that are whitespace-sensitive", later on it states that recent versions of mysql have reduced this number from 200 to 30. One of the remaining 30 is COUNT for example. With IGNORE SPACE enabled both SELECT COUNT(*) FROM mytable; SELECT COUNT (*) FROM mytable; are legal. So if this is an exception, I am left to conclude that normally functions ignore space by default. If functions ignore space by default then if the context is ambiguous, such as for the first function on a first item of the select expression, then they are not distinguishable from keywords and the error can not be thrown and MySQL must accept them as keywords. Still, my conclusions feel like they have lot of assumptions, I would still be grateful and accept any pointers to see where to follow up on this.

There is no database connectivity problem, as the column header shows data which is coming from database.     Is it possible to store something like the following using only one table? Right now, what hibernate will do is create two tables, one for Families and one for people.     Hi folks, what's the proper way to display an image stored in sqlserver database as an varbinary(max) datatype in CrystalReports for .NET? I have added a 'blobfieldobject' item in crystal reports & it is bound to a datatable with the column of type 'varbinary(max)' but the image won't show up instead a dark background is diplayed. TIA

    Hello, how to get a value of a (hidden) column, from the selected row. that is, the cell value needs to be from the cell identied by colName, and the selected row (not using multi select). From the API i see the method getGridParam("selrow") for reading the row, may be able to combine with other methods.. but, any convenient method available? a code snippet would save lot of time... \ thanks.

    How to persist XMLType column via JPA/Hibernate? As per oracle documentation, there are two ways in declaring storage clause for XMLType. They are, LOB and Object-Relational. I dont want to go with LOB. I have schema and register into database. I have not have example on how to design my Entity for XMLType. Does any one know please share it?
