• Network unreachable on Ubuntu guest after trying to set up a host only network on Virtualbox

  I have a Mac OS X host and a bunch of guests including Ubuntu and Arch Linux. I was trying to set up a host-only network at eth1 to let me ssh into the system. But now eth0 isn't working properly either. Ubuntu can no longer connect to remote hosts or browse the internet. It tells me that the network is unreachable. What's gone wrong here? • Beginner server local installation

  Here's the thing I own a small business and currently my emails are being managed by some regular hosting using cpanel and that I bought a small server and installed windows server and exchange Can you tell what I did wrong here Installed and configured my current existing domain Configured all email address Installed noip in case my public address change In the cpanel of the domain I've added an MX record to the noip domain of the server with priority 0 so now emails are being received by my own server Now whenever I send an email to anyone gmail hotmail etc I get a response that cannot be delivered since may be junk This didn't happen when I sent emails from the hosting What's missing what did I do wrong heres the code mx.google.com rejected your message to the following e-mail addresses: Joan J.   Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) puts on an outstanding event, and I enjoy that the content comes FIRST. Yes, the after-event parties and entertainment are first class, but I look forward most to sitting in on some excellent sessions. I want to create an argument on the Build Process Template that holds the path to the PowerShell script. In the Build Process Template I will add an InvokeProcess activity to execute the PowerShell command. This InvokeProcess activity needs the location of the script as an argument for the PowerShell command. Since you don’t know the full path at the build server of this script, you can either specify in the argument the relative path of the script, but it is hard to find out what the relative path is. I prefer to specify the location of the script in source control and then convert that server path to a local path. To do this conversion you can use the ConvertWorkspaceItem activity. So to complete the task, open the Build Process Template CustomTemplate.xaml that we created in earlier parts, follow the following steps Add a new argument called “DeploymentScript” and set the appropriate settings in the metadata. See Part 2: Add arguments and variables  for more information. Scroll down beneath the TryCatch activity called “Try Compile, Test, and Associate Changesets and Work Items” Add a new If activity and set the condition to "Not String.IsNullOrEmpty(DeploymentScript)" to ensure it will only run when the argument is passed. A lot of the deployment scripts you have will have some kind of arguments (like username / password or environment variables) that you want to define in the Build Definition. • Super Joybox 5 HID 0925:8884 not recognized as joystick in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

  Problem: When using the "Super JoyBox 5" 4 port playstation 2 to USB adapter, the device is not recognized as a joystick. there is no js0 created, but instead another input eventX and mouseX are created in /dev/input. When using the directional buttons (up down left right) on a Playstation 1 controller attached to the device, the mouse cursor moves to the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the screen respectively. Buttons are unresponsive. The joypads attached to the device cannot be used in any games or other programs. Attempted remedies: Creating a symlink from the eventX to js0 does not solve the problem. Addl Info: joydev is loaded and running peroperly according to LSMOD. evtest can be run on the created eventX (sudo evtest /dev/input/event14 in my case) and the buttons and axes all register inputs. Aparently, this device used to work flawlessly on kernel 2.4.x systems, and even as late as ubunto 10.04. Perhaps the Joydev rules for identifying joypads has changed? Currently, this kind of bug is affecting a few different type of controller adapters, but since this is the one that i PERSONALLY have (and has been driving me my own special brand of crazy), its the one im documenting. What i think should be happening instead: The device should be registering js0 through js3, one for each port, or JS0 that will handle all of the connected devices with different numbered axes for each connected joypad. Either way, it should work as a joystick and stop controlling the mouse cursor. Please help!

• Remote Debug Windows Azure Cloud Service

It introduced a lot of cool features but one of it shocked most, which is the remote debug support for Windows Azure Cloud Service (a.k.a. WACS).   Live Debug is Nightmare for Cloud Application When we are developing against public cloud, debug might be the most difficult task, especially after the application had been deployed. In order to minimize the debug effort, Microsoft provided local emulator for cloud service and storage once the Windows Azure platform was announced. By using local emulator developers could be able run their application on local machine with almost the same behavior as running on Windows Azure, and that could be debug easily and quickly. But when we deployed our application to Azure, we have to use log, diagnostic monitor to debug, which is very low efficient. Visual Studio 2012 introduced a new feature named "anonymous remote debug" which allows any workstation under any user could be able to attach the remote process. This is less secure comparing the authenticated remote debug but much easier and simpler to use. Now in Windows Azure SDK 2.2, we could be able to attach our application from our local machine to Windows Azure, and it's very easy.   How to Use Remote Debugger First, let's create a new Windows Azure Cloud Project in Visual Studio and selected ASP.NET Web Role. Then create an ASP.NET WebForm application. Then right click on the cloud project and select "publish". In the publish dialog we need to make sure the application will be built in debug mode, since .NET assembly cannot be debugged in release mode. I enabled Remote Desktop as I will log into the virtual machine later in this post. It's NOT necessary for remote debug. And selected "advanced settings" tab, make sure we checked "Enable Remote Debugger for all roles". In WACS, a cloud service could be able to have one or more roles and each role could be able to have one or more instances. The remote debugger will be enabled for all roles and all instances if we checked. Currently there's no way for us to specify which role(s) and which instance(s) to enable. Finally click "publish" button. In the windows azure activity window in Visual Studio we can find some information about remote debugger. To attache remote process would be easy. Open the "server explorer" window in Visual Studio and expand "cloud services" node, find the cloud service, role and instance we had just published and wanted to debug, right click on the instance and select "attach debugger". Then after a while (it's based on how fast our Internet connect to Windows Azure Data Center) the Visual Studio will be switched to debug mode. Let's add a breakpoint in the default web page's form load function and refresh the page in browser to see what's happen. We can see that the our application was stopped at the breakpoint. The call stack, watch features are all available to use. Now let's hit F5 to continue the step, then back to the browser we will find the page was rendered successfully.   What Under the Hood Remote debugger is a WACS plugin. When we checked the "enable remote debugger" in the publish dialog, Visual Studio will add two cloud configuration settings in the CSCFG file. Since they were appended when deployment, we cannot find in our project's CSCFG file. But if we opened the publish package we could find as below. At the same time, Visual Studio will generate a certificate and included into the package for remote debugger. If we went to the azure management portal we will find there will a certificate under our application which was created, uploaded by remote debugger plugin. Since I enabled Remote Desktop there will be two certificates in the screenshot below. The other one is for remote debugger. When our application was deployed, windows azure system will open related ports for remote debugger. As below you can see there are two new ports opened on my application. Finally, in our WACS virtual machine, windows azure system will copy the remote debug component based on which version of Visual Studio we are using and start. Our application then can be debugged remotely through the visual studio remote debugger. Below is the task manager on the virtual machine of my WACS application.   Summary In this post I demonstrated one of the feature introduced in Windows Azure SDK 2.2, which is Remote Debugger. It allows us to attach our application from local machine to windows azure virtual machine once it had been deployed. Remote debugger is powerful and easy to use, but it brings more security risk. And since it's only available for debug build this means the performance will be worse than release build.   Submitted By:  Rahul Kamath  Oracle Data Relationship Management (DRM) has always been extremely powerful as an Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) solution that can help manage changes to master data in a way that influences enterprise structure, whether it be mastering chart of accounts to enable financial transformation, or revamping organization structures to drive business transformation and operational efficiencies, or restructuring sales territories to enable equitable distribution of leads to sales teams following the acquisition of new products, or adding additional cost centers to enable fine grain control over expenses. Increasingly, DRM is also being utilized by Oracle customers for reference data management, an emerging solution space that deserves some explanation. What is reference data? How does it relate to Master Data? Reference data is a close cousin of master data. While master data is challenged with problems of unique identification, may be more rapidly changing, requires consensus building across stakeholders and lends structure to business transactions, reference data is simpler, more slowly changing, but has semantic content that is used to categorize or group other information assets – including master data – and gives them contextual value. In fact, the creation of a new master data element may require new reference data to be created. For example, when a European company acquires a US business, chances are that they will now need to adapt their product line taxonomy to include a new category to describe the newly acquired US product line. Further, the cross-border transaction will also result in a revised geo hierarchy. The addition of new products represents changes to master data while changes to product categories and geo hierarchy are examples of reference data changes.1 The following table contains an illustrative list of examples of reference data by type. Sample Use Cases of Reference Data Management Healthcare: Diagnostic Codes The reference data challenges in the healthcare industry offer a case in point. Part of being HIPAA compliant requires medical practitioners to transition diagnosis codes from ICD-9 to ICD-10, a medical coding scheme used to classify diseases, signs and symptoms, causes, etc. The transition to ICD-10 has a significant impact on business processes, procedures, contracts, and IT systems. Since both code sets ICD-9 and ICD-10 offer diagnosis codes of very different levels of granularity, human judgment is required to map ICD-9 codes to ICD-10. The process requires collaboration and consensus building among stakeholders much in the same way as does master data management. • boot issues - long delay, then "gave up waiting for root device"

  I've had this issue on and off for about two years now. I noticed it on a new (custom built) machine running 10.04 when that first came out, but then it went away until a few months ago. I've gone through a number of hard drive changes but I can't say specifically what if anything I changed hardware-wise to make it stop or start happening. I had assumed upgrading to a modern Ubuntu version would fix the issue, so I installed 12.04 beta on a spare partition last night, but it's still happening. Here's the issue. After grub loads and I select a kernel to boot, the screen goes blank save for a blinking cursor. It sits in this state for many long minutes before it finally gives up and gives me an initramfs shell with the message gave up waiting for root device (and lists the /dev/disk/by-uuid/... path it was waiting for) but no other specific diagnostic information. Now, here's the tricky part. For one, the problem is intermittent - sometimes it progresses from the blinking cursor to the Ubuntu splash boot screen in a few seconds, and once it gets that far it always continues booting fine. The really bizarre thing is that I can "force" it to "find" the root device by repeatedly pressing the space bar and hitting the machine's power button. If I tap those enough, eventually I will notice the hard drive light coming on, at which point it will always continue the boot process after a few seconds. Interestingly, if I wait slightly too long before pressing the power button (30s?), as soon as I press it I get the gave up waiting message and the initramfs shell. I've tried setting up /etc/fstab (and the grub menu.lst or whatever it's called nowadays) to use device names (e.g. /dev/sda1) instead of UUIDs, but I get the same effect just with the device name, not UUID, in the error message. I should also mention that when I boot to Windows 7, there is no issue. It boots slowly all the time just by virtue of being Windows, but it never hangs indefinitely. This would seem to indicate it's a problem in Ubuntu, not the hardware. It's pretty annoying to have to babysit the computer every time it boots. Any ideas? I'm at a loss.   Another common problem with external authentication is how to deal with sign in errors. In active federation like WS-Trust there are well defined SOAP faults to communicate problem to a client. But with web applications, the error information is typically generated and displayed on the external sign in page. The relying party does not know about the error, nor can it help the user in any way. The Access Control Service allows to post sign in errors to a specified page. You setup this page in the relying party registration. That means that whenever an error occurs in ACS, the error information gets packaged up as a JSON string and posted to the page specified. This way you get structued error information back into you application so you can display a friendlier error message or log the error. I added error page support to my ACS2 sample, which can be downloaded here. In my case, I'd added some diagnostic code to a (PCI) driver (that is used to boot the root filesystem). • Task Scheduler Cannot Apply My Changes - Adding a User with Permissions

  I can log in to the server using a domain account without administrator privileges and create a task in the Task Scheduler. I am allowed to do an initial save of the task but unable to modify it with the same user account. When changes are complete, a message box prompts for the user password (same domain user I logged in with), then fails with the following message. Task Scheduler cannot apply your changes. The user account is unknown, the password is incorrect, or the account does not have permission to modify the task. When I check Log on as Batch Job Properties (found this from the Help documentation): This policy is accessible by opening the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and then Local Security Policy. In the Local Security Policy window, click Local Policy, User Rights Assignment, and then Logon as batch job. Everything is grayed out, so I can't add a user. How can I add a user?

• Backup multiple Exchange Accounts without direct access to exchange server

  For e-mail, we use Microsoft Exchange and it is hosted by 1and1.com. We have about 30 Exchange accounts that I would like to backup to a PST file. That is, for each account that we have (all 30), I would like to create a single PST file (1.pst thru 30.pst). I do not have direct access to the Exchange server. Basically, for each Exchange account, I can supply: The IP address for the Exchange server or the URL to the OWA. The Username The Password Is there a tool out there that can do this for me? It seems that Microsoft's "Online Services Migration Tools" comes awfully close, but it appears that its geared to pull data out of any Exchange server and push it into Microsoft Online. I don't believe it can be used to simply pull the data out and generate PST's.

  I am running Windows 8, 64 bit and have SQL Server 2012 installed. I downloaded the client tools, looked in the directory for SQL Server Management Studio, and see it's there. When I try to run SQL Management Studio I receive the error message: "Cannot find one or more components. Please reinstall application". This problem just started. I have reinstalled the application and downloaded the service packs. The shortcut key shows the path but it still will not run.

  I'm using Iceweasel (un/rebranded Firefox) 3.5.9 on Debian (amd64). I want to use the "Furigana Injector" plugin. I installed it via the Tools - Add-ons menuitem (version 1.3), and restarted Firefox. Unfortunately, when I click the button, it only says: "The 'SimpleMecab' XPCOM component could not be loaded." in a dialog box, several dozen times (!). I found a Debian package "libmecab1", but installing it didn't help. Is there some "mecab" package I can install that will make this work?

• tcptrack shows SYN_SENT connections, does that mean the SYN package reached the server?

  our server suffered a serious connection timeout problem, so we track tcp connection with tcptrack we found out that, if the client started to connect to the server, tcptrack shows the connection, but in SYN_SENT status, and netstat -nat shows nothing. (tcptrack & netstat all runs on the server) does this mean the syn request reached the server? and no syn/ack was sent back? why the tcptrack could report this connection but netstat could not? what could be the problem that a general apache could not establish a connection with the client? i did a bench test using ab in the same intranet, to the specified NIC, it handled 10000 concurrent connection and 400000 requests ok ps: this doesn't happen every time, but did happened a lot pps: is there any good tools to trace where the tcp connection was lost?

  So basically, I created a large windows server for development, and then I created a micro windows server for production. I set up everything how I wanted it on my development server, and then i unmounted the drives, and mounted them to my micro server. Now I'm trying to get back into my large windows development server, and I'm getting the error. Invalid value 'i-4896ce28' for instanceId. Instance does not have a volume attached at root (/dev/sda1) this error pops up when I try to start my large windows server. I've remounted the drives to the large development server, and I still get this message. I'm not really sure what to do, I've read other posts and everyone is giving these almost like command line arguments and talking about other tools, and I really have no clue what any of that means, or where I even have an option to enter any commands without be logged into a specific instance.

• 64-bit Windows 7 softphone to make SIP calls without registering with a SIP proxy?

  We have test tools that require us to call SIP addresses like localhost:5061. I used to use SJPhone on Windows XP, and an older version of X-lite, which both worked fine, and didn't require the SIP phone to be registered with a SIP proxy. I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and SJPhone doesn't seem to work any more (see forum here for others with the problem) - it says "No sound input device / No sound output device" at startup. I have tried a range of other softphones (X-lite 3, X-lite 4, Zoiper, 3CX), but I can't seem to find any that will install on Windows 7 and will let me call a SIP address like localhost:5061. It might be that I just don't know how to configure these phones to do it...

  I can't get access to a folder on our server and can't understand why. Perhaps someone will see what I'm overlooking... Trouble accessing /Library/Subdirectory/NextDirectory/ User joe can ssh to the server just fine and cd to /Library/Subdirectory/ however trying to cd into the next folder, NextDirectory, gives this error: -bash: cd: NextDirectory/: Permission denied both username joe & bill are members of the group admin and both can get INTO Subdirectory without any trouble... hostname:Library joe$ ls -l | grep Subdirectory drwxrwxr-x 3 bill admin 102 Jun 1 14:51 Subdirectory and from w/in the Subversion folder hostname:Subdirectory joe$ ls -l drwxrwx--- 5 root admin 170 Jun 1 22:19 NextDirectory bill can cd into NextDirectory but joe cannot!?!   For some reason recently I've been getting this error in my apache error log on my server. We have a single instance of memcached running on our Mac OSX 10.7 server. (20014)Internal error: Unknown memcached error while writing: Could not find specified socket in poll list. I can't find anything about this error message online :. Does anyone have any idea what could cause it or how I can try debugging it? There's a memcached-tools(?) function on linux, but it doesn't seem to be on the Mac...
