• Which PHP IDE would you use on Windows, if you're used to TextMate on the Mac?

  Until now, most of my PHP development had been done on a Mac in TextMate. For a new client I need to work on a secured windows box, and I was wondering which IDEs I should be looking at, as someone used to working with TextMate. I've tried the 'E' editor, and I'm unconvinced. I've tried IDEs on the Mac, and they always seem like poor relations... but given that I'm having to move development platforms anyway, is there something better I should be looking at? Are there any decent text editors out there that I'm missing?

• ANy way to fix the position of image

  I have an image on the left hand side and text on right side. Like two column layout. I want that when i scroll the text then the image should stay at center of page. I tried using position:fixed But then the problem , sometimes when i resize the IE window to small size then the image stay at same position and it comes out of the main content area when i scroll down. I have to read the lines from exit after the execution of this application but it says "permission denied", as if the its not been done correctly. I've been thinking over a time and I can not move forward.   Hi all, In Ubuntu, I am running 2 'C' applications, When I press key up/down the applications are alternatively getting the events. What might be the problem/solution? Ex: I have 'A application' and 'B application', I launch 'A application' and press the key up/down its working fine. If I simultaneously launch 'B application' and focus is on 'B application' then pressing key up/down will toggle between 'A application' & 'B application' so 2 times I have to press the key to move on 'B application'(focus is on 'B application'). 'A application' and 'B application' are threads. Thanks in advance-opensid

• Disabling click or mousedown event on jQuery UI Slider

  I am trying to disable the click or mousedown event on the Slider tract. I want the slider to only move by dragging the handle. I tried adding preventDefault() and return false to the slider but no use. Its still triggering the jump. Example: http://jsbin.com/iguruh/1/edit I know this is similar to this jQuery UI Slider - Disable click on slider track but the solutions provided there are not working because i have the range option set to false. Appreciate any help.

  I'm trying to work out how to enlarge all elements on a page, but keep the centre of enlargement in the centre of the window. Example Page (up and down arrows to resize the image, you can also drag the image around) On this page, once the image reaches the top or the left side of the window the centre of enlargement changes. It also changes when you move the image. (exactly what you would expect) I'm thinking I'd need to take a completely different approach to achieve what I want. But I'm not sure what that approach is.. Any ideas?

  Hello, everyone! I am implementing a text-based version of Scrabble for a college project. I have a vector containing around 400K strings (my dictionary), and, at some point in every turn, I'm going to have to check if there's still a word in the dictionary which can be formed with the pieces in the player's hand. I'm checking if the player has any move left... If not, it's game over for the player in question... My only solution to this is iterating through the string, one by one, and using a sub-routine I have to check if the string in question can be formed from the player's pieces. I'll implement a quickfail checking if the user has any vowels, but it'll still be woefully inefficient. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time!

• UITableView with multiple selections

  I have a UITableView with multiple selections enabled. If I select items and scroll the list back and forth they are remembered and shown and selected (blue background). Using the didDeselectRowAtIndexPath and didSelectRowAtIndexPath I am able to keep my own array of selected items. That part works well. However, if I then use the sectionForSectionIndexTitle and jump to a letter, the selection appears to be forgotten - even indexPathForSelectedRows appears to have been reset and is now empty. My own array remembers that an item is selected and I can set the cell.selected in the cellForRowAtIndexPath but the instant I move the list it is forgotten again. Any ideas? Is this a bug, or how do you retain the selection list when jumping to a letter?

But when i create flash animation then attach to tiles-based character of my game's project i have a problem. Because of tiles-based game with fixed tile sizes and my character animation have each width and height size for each frame. When i attach animation to character code. Example , with my game if i press key to move character , then my character will playing "moving" frame , because of this frame animation have difference width and height then my game function check collisions fail , I want to ask you how can i solve this problem ?.   Ok so I'm developing a WPF application that makes heavy use of SQL Server. I've been asked to create an installer package that checks whether the client already has SQL Server Express 2005 already installed, his operating system (64bit Vs x86) and install the required SQL Server instance if needed. I'm then required to automatically map my App.config's connection string to the SQL Server's connection string and run a script to create my database. • Best way to create a Unique ID field for an enum

  What is the best way to get a Unique ID from an ENUM that will stay consistent between repeated execution of the program? Currently I am doing this manually by passing an ID to the enum constructor. I don't really want to do this is I can help it. Another option would be to use a static field that gets incremented for each enum value. The problem is that if later I decide to move the enum fields around or delete some this will cause problems with my program as the ID will be saved into user preferences. The ID can be any basic type or a String.

It needs to remain running and have access the desktop that the UAC dialog windows open on and interact with that desktop using keyboard and mouse events. It's sort of like a VNC program. Imagine you are running a VNC program and a UAC window pops up, you want your VNC program to still be able to control the desktop with the UAC window in it so that the user can move the mouse and click the OK button on the UAC dialog. • Weird behaviour of jquery's hide/show with the 'slide' effect. How to change?

  When doing $('.mydiv').show('slide', {direction:up}, 1500); //syntax may be a little off jQuery seems to - just before starting the animation - make room for the soon to be showed div. This creates a non-smooth effect making all elements below the showed div shift away in one big go. I would like to see the elements below the div move away as the div is animated/showed. The jQuery native hide()/show() function works like this, how come the slide effect of hide/show doesn't? Anyone knows how to fix it?

• Drupal 6: moving localhost to server | clear cached data

Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

  Hi, I'm using JQuery to select some elements on a page and then move them around in the DOM. The problem I'm having is I need to select all the elements in the reverse order that JQuery naturally wants to select them. For example: <ul> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> <li>Item 3</li> <li>Item 4</li> <li>Item 5</li> </ul> I want to select all the li items and use the .each() command on them but I want to start with Item 5, then Item 4 etc. Is this possible? • ASP.NET MVC vs. Jquery/AJAX (Where to draw the dividing line?)

  I am learning MVC and I understand the basics now. It is very good for CRUD pages and has built in HTTP methods to post/get edits/updates. That is nice. This is all very testable by just creating a new controller and testing it. But I was thinking about other web page scenerios when using MVC. What about a page that has 2 listboxes that you add/remove users with. (A button will move the user from one listbox to another) This would be done using Jquery/Javascript... But then what happens to testing? How do you test adding/removing users from a listbox like that example? It seems to me the more jquery you use the less testable the page becomes right? When you get beyond basic forms being filled out then you need to use something more than the standard MVC pages. What is the correct philosophy on this on when am I not understanding ?
