  • How to find source of 301/302 redirect loop? Heroku GoDaddy Zerigo

    this should be a relatively simple problem but I'm having trouble.I hope this is the right forum to post on as I've seen people get booted off stack-overflow for this sort of thing. I've setup a web app on heroku (cedar stack) at my-web-app.herokuapp.com and I'm trying to direct my-domain.com and www.my-domain.com to it. As per instructions on the heroku documentation, I've set my-domain.com to redirect (forwarding) to www.my-domain.com and then set a C-Name from www.my-domain.com to my-web-app.herokuapp.com. But the C-Name doesn't seem to be working right and is sending back to my-domain.com, causing a loop and I can't work out why. I first configured these setting at GoDaddy.com where I registered the domain but then tried to avoid the problem by using Heroku's Zerigo DNS add-on, setting the nameservers on GoDaddy to the ones given for Zerigo. However the problem remains.     This is a serious problem. I want to speed up my compilation process. I have never been especially fond of overclocking, however my current compilation time for my project makes my crazy! I found information about which parameters I should change to overclock and which values are safe. However, I have one basic problem. I don't have the ability to change this option in my BIOS. It is possible that these options have been blocked by the system administrators? Getting a faster processor is not an option. How do I edit the proper values to overclock my CPU. Do I need to flash my bios to another version? My specs: Entium Dual-Core Cpu E5400 @2.7GHz Asrock motherboard 4GB RAM Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

  • Remembering sharepoint password in Internet Explorer 8

    I am using IE8 to open a sharepoint portal on local network. Initially, I clicked on remember password after passing domain credentials. However, now I want sharepoint to ask credentials again. I've tried many options - Deleted all cookies, IE Security Tab Form Autocomplete Deleted everything. Restarted my machine. And all I could do. Still, when I open portal, sharepoint logs me in automatically. What should I do to make IE ask for credentials again?

  • Transferring Conditional Formatting (without the cell value) in Excel

    If I have 3 layers of conditional formatting in a cell (B2) is there a way of transferring the format of cell (B2) to another cell (A2) without copying across the value in the original cell (B2). I.e. in b2 I have conditional formatting dependent on what is selected from a drop down list of 4 options). I want the format to be copied across the the cell before this (A2) without the values being copied across. Essentially A2 has the title and B2 has the value but I would like the same formatting across both. I have manged to do it by setting A2 as ="Title "&B2 and applying conditional formatting to this. The spacing means the text from B2 doesn't show. This works but is really ugly. Is there a better way givern there ae too many conditions for a standard IF function. (if possible the solution should be windows 2003 compatible)

  • How can I force Windows 7 to REindex a folder?

    I asked Windows 7 to index my entire "Media" folder. After it was done it'd find anything in there, no problem. Then I reorganized it a bit and moved some folders around, and now it doesn't find things inside those folders anymore. For example, I'm looking at a folder with the files: 01. Ferry Corsten - Shelter Me.mp3 02. Ferry Corsten - Black Velvet.mp3 ... 05. Ferry Corsten - Made Of Love.mp3 ... I type in "Love" in the search box for the current folder, and it doesn't find anything. I checked in "Indexing Options", and this very folder is checked off in there. It seems I just messed up its indexing feature. Any ideas how fix?

  • More than one way to skin an Audit

    I get asked quite a bit about auditing in SQL Server. By "audit", people mean everything from tracking logins to finding out exactly who ran a particular SELECT statement. In the really early versions of SQL Server, we didn't have a great story for very granular audits, so lots of workarounds were suggested. As time progressed, more and more audit capabilities were added to the product, and in typical database platform fashion, as we added a feature we didn't often take the others away. So now, instead of not having an option to audit actions by users, you might face the opposite problem - too many ways to audit!     I am not able to understand how bytes in memory are being mapped into a struct. My machine is a little-endian x86_64. The code was compiled with gcc 4.7.0 from the Win64 mingw32-64 distribution for Win64. These are contents of the relevant memory fragment: ...450002cf9fe5000040115a9fc0a8fe... And this is the struct definition: typedef struct ip4 { unsigned int ihl :4; unsigned int version :4; uint8_t tos; uint16_t tot_len; uint16_t id; uint16_t frag_off; // flags=3 bits, offset=13 bits uint8_t ttl; uint8_t protocol; uint16_t check; uint32_t saddr; uint32_t daddr; /*The options start here. */ } ip4_t; When a pointer to such an structure (let it be *ip4) is initialized to the starting address of the above pasted memory region, this is what the debugger shows for the struct's fields: ip4: address=0x8da36ce ip4->ihl: address=0x8da36ce, value=0x5 ip4->version: address=0x8da36ce, value=0x4 ip4->tos: address=0x8da36d2, value=0x9f ip4->tot_len: address=0x8da36d4, value=0x0 ... I see how ihl and version are mapped: 4 bytes for a long integer, little-endian. But I don't understand how tos and tot_len are mapped; which bytes in memory correspond to each one of them.   • Check IMAP via PHP for mesages in order to interact with them via PHP?

    I use Google to administer my e-mails and I run Nginx + PHP. If I want to check incoming mail to interact with each message subject (to trigger an action), as far as I know, I have only two options: 1) access Google via IMAP PHP / cron job or 2) forward the messages to my server where I can have a subdomain set to pipe the messages to a PHP script. Frankly, I'd preffer the first option because I have already all the IMAP functions tested and done. And if the second solution is really the best, I'd preffer to use Postfix. However, id like some light grom somebody who has already browsed this unknown waters. Thank you.

    i have a win7 system and i want to install debian 6 on usb flash drive. the problem is grub loader. i want to install the grub loader on usb itself, so i can just plug in the pendrive in any computer and boot to deb6. so in effect making the flash drive an independent system. i tried it earlier, but ended up with grub loader needing me to insert the pendrive every time to give me boot options to even boot the win7 system, even though it was on primary hdd. so is there a way to turn the pendrive into full linux system with own boot loader, which can automatically detect os in the system i plug it in and be able to boot any of them. totally, self sufficient and system independent; making the pen drive so that it only needs a host system to run the os it carries. thank you, waiting for replies.

In this article, we show how to use LINQPad to connect to QuickBooks using the RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks. Although this example uses the QuickBooks Data Provider, the same process applies to any of our ADO.NET Providers. Create the Data Model Step 1: Download and install both the Data Provider from RSSBus and LINQPad (available at www.linqpad.net Step 2: Create a new project in Visual Studio and create a data model for it using the ADO.NET Entity Data Model wizard. Step 3: Create a new connection by clicking "New Connection", specify the connection string options, and click Next. Step 4: Select the desired tables and views and click Finish to create the data model. Step 5: Right click on the entity diagram and select 'Add Code Generation Item'. Choose the 'ADO.NET DbContext Generator'. Step 6: Now build the project. The generated files can be used to create a QuickBooks connection in LINQPad. Create the connection to QuickBooks in LINQPad Step 7:Open LINQPad and click 'Add New Connection'. Step 8: Choose 'Entity Framework DbContext POCO'. Step 9: Choose the data model assembly ('.dll') created by Visual Studio as the 'Path to Custom Assembly'. Choose the name of the custom DbContext, the path to the config file, and assign a name to the connection that will allow you to recognize its purpose. Step 10: Congratulations! Now you have a connection to QuickBooks, and you can query data through LINQPad.

    Hello I am experiencing some issues with my iptables. Here's what I want to do: A(eth0)--------(eth0)B(eth2)---------------(eth2)C Brackets are interface names A,B and C are hosts. Now I would like to forward port number 80 of host C so that It would be accessed via host A. host A is 192.168.1.254 host C is 192.168.3.2 I intentionally ACCEPTed all FILTER chain options as the default policy because I wanted to make sure that NAT is working properly first. I enabled ip_forward. So here's what I have done: sudo iptables -A PREROUTING -t nat -p tcp - d 192.168.1.254 -j DNAT --to 192.168.3.2 However it is not working. What am I missing here?

    I'm pretty sure the options consist of Just don't do it (use a nice open standard file format). Not great when someone sends you something. Translate the format on Windows. I think you need Publisher, the viewer won't even print. But you can download a trial version for a once off (been there, done that). Submit the file for online translation to PDF. www.pdfonline.com/convert-pdf/ Use a Windows VM, wine, crossover office, Win4Lin, or otherwise run Publisher "under" linux. What I really want to do is convert it to something nicer natively under Linux.

  • Announcing Spacewalk Support for Oracle Linux Basic and Premier Customers

    Over the years, customers migrating to Oracle Linux have asked for options to provide a transitional solution for their existing system management tools (such as Red Hat Satellite Server) while evaluating and planning migrations to Oracle's Enterprise Manager, which is offered at no additional charge with Oracle Linux Support Subscriptions.  Based on this request, we are pleased to announce support for the open-source community project, Spacewalk, which is the basis for both Red Hat Satellite Server and SUSE Manager.  Effective today, customers with Oracle Linux Basic and Premier Support subscriptions have access to a fully supported Spacewalk build which can be setup to easily manage Oracle Linux systems.   Spacewalk support for Oracle Linux requires Oracle Linux 6, x86_64 for the server and provides support for Oracle Linux 5 and Oracle Linux 6 (x86, x86_64) clients.  This solution requires Oracle Database 11g Release 2 as the  supported database repository for Spacewalk with Oracle Linux.  Within the next several weeks, a limited use license for the Oracle Database will be included with this offer.  Until this is complete, customers may use an existing Oracle database license or they may begin by downloading a 30-day trial license from eDelivery.  Customers with Oracle Linux Basic and Premier subscriptions will automatically have access to the channel hosting the supported build.  Please review the release notes for further instructions. Oracle Enterprise Manager is still the recommended enterprise solution for managing Oracle Linux systems and we want to provide the easiest transition path for our customers.  We are excited to offer this solution to our Oracle Linux customers while they plan and implement their migration to Oracle Enterprise Manager.

  • Keyboard-shortcut key-press-detection sensitivity settings

    last week I switched from Ubuntu 10.10 to 12.04 and after setting up my keyboard shortcuts, e.g., CTRL+ALT+E for my favorite editor and CTRL+ALT+X for the terminal, I noticed that the behavior when pressing the appropriate keys changed somehow. I know this is very subjective and I am not 100% percent sure if I am suddenly just too lazy when using my keyboard, but here is what I noticed: To run your shortcuts, you usually press the modifiers first and in addition press the alphanum key. Now, if I hold the modifiers down very consciously and press the alphanum key afterwards everything works fine. However, I noticed that I may often release the modifiers a bit too early. In Ubuntu 10.10 (metacity/compiz) my keyboard shortcuts would still execute and my tools would pop up. This does not work anymore in 12.04. Nevertheless, I still believe the old behavior to be more intuitive and would like to have it back. I a nutshell: Is there a parameter to control the shortcut-key-press detection behavior? I already searched the ubuntu keyboard options and searched for "keyboard" in gconf-editor but could not find any hints so far.

  • How to stop OS X from switching input method (keyboard layout) automatically?

    After using the wireless keyboard that comes with the iMac, I have switched to a MS Ergo Natural 4000 one. Surprisingly I had to install extra software as OS X could not work out which keyboard I had. After which I went into sys prefs and set the main input method to be "British - Microsoft" first and "Swiss German" second (what the wireless keyboard is), on the "input sources" tab: However... OS X keeps resetting my input method back to Swiss German which is driving me bananas. I have the flag thingy top right so I can see when this changes. N.B. I have "input source options" set to "use the same one in all documents" which I am assuming means keep the language the same for anything running. It also flips back on the login page. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Varnish doesn't seem to be caching

    I've setup a Varnish cache mirror to sit in front of a file server, but it seems to be endlessly re-downloading data from my file server. There's about 100GB of data in total, but so far Varnish has downloaded 800GB from my file server.     In Windows7, Is it possible to define/change the proxy config from the command line ? So, using the gui, I would go: Start Control Panel Network and Internet Internet Options Connections LAN Settings and then - enable/disable the proxy - define IP:port of proxy server But I would like to rather do this from the command line (so that I can run the command from a batch-file with a shortcut key - enabling me to switch proxy configs using a short-cut, rather than having to wade through the MS wizard). I've looked at using netsh.exe to change the settings for WinHTTP, but this seems to be thr wrong thing to do, as the WinHTTP setting do not appear to be related to the LAN settings. Much appreciated folks.

  • Web browser downloads only open target folders - cannot open files

    After installing xubuntu packages in order to check xfce, I reverted back to gnome2. During the first login, I noticed that thunar was now selected as the default file manager. Preferred applications menu is also missing now, so I could not set nautilus as the default. I removed all the xubuntu packages (including thunar) and then when I tried to open a folder, I was asked to select the default file manager - that's how I got nautilus back. The next problem I'm now facing has to do with the downloaded files from web browsers: Open and Open containing folder options produce exactly the same result. If I double-click on a file, it'll just open the containing folder, instead of opening the file with it's associated application (e.g. libreoffice writer for .doc,.odt, smplayer for .avi,.wmv, etc). The problem happens both in Firefox and Chrome. Through nautilus, all files open correctly. Up until now I've tried the following: Delete/recreate mimeTypes.rdf in my FF profile Create a new profile in FF Delete/recreate ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list Already checked this similar article None of them worked. Any ideas on the issue would be appreciated.

  • Best Configuration for Performance - ffmpeg streaming / mp4 /flv

    I have some mpeg video files and a web page. A visitor comes to that web page and according to the selected options, a php script calls ffmpeg and combines the different mpeg files and then converts it to a mp4 file. That mp4 file is then shown to the visitor using flowplayer. The MP4 creation takes some time and flowplayer takes some time to load the file. What do you think is the best way to accomplish this task ? Should i go for streaming server ? I need to reduce the time taken for conversion. Will converting to FLV be faster ?

    I am trying to install Oracle Client 11.1.0.7 on a Windows Server 2008 64-bit. To some this might not be rocket science but I can't understand what the options under the install screen "Specify Home Details" mean. The defaults given suggest that I use Oracle Base and install software under my own account name. It also suggests that each user should have a separate Oracle Base. This seems counter intuitive to me. I am doing a server install after all. All I want to use the installation for is to connect to an Oracle Database from Reporting Services. Can I safely ignore this and just accept the defaults? What are the implications if I change the location to a common directory?

  • Can't ping other machines at Linux VPN PPTP server's local lan from outside

    Before anything else, hello guys, this is the first time I ask for something here so I hope someone can give me a hand, please look at the following network diagram: --------------------------------------------------------------- VPN Server Webserver (SuSE SLES11) | | | ------- VPN LAN -------- | Router with Unique IP (With Port Forwarding rules set and VPN through enabled) | PPTP connection over Internet | Workstation (PC or Laptop with Windows) --------------------------------------------------------------- So the idea is for the workstation to connect to the PPTP Server and then be able to access a Web Application on the Webserver, right now I have the PPTP server configured and the VPN works, I can connect to the SLES11 server with no problems from the workstation and I can ping it and everything works fine but if I try to ping the Webserver from the workstation, I can't reach it, I'm making a mistake somewhere but I don't see where, please note that I'm not a network expert and thus I'd greatly appreciate some specific guidance.
