  • How to setup AD group to work with SharePoint group security

    Issue: Recently, I am having issues with the permission setup at client side. The way we setup permission is we create AD Group and add the add AD Group to the proper SharePoint Group. If we need to grant permission to a user, we then add the user to the correct AD group. But end user reports that by adding a user to an AD group, this user does not have any access to the SharePoint site. Solution: Change the AD Group scope from Global to Universal fix the problem.   • Payments - Chase Paymentech PTK Decomissioning FTP After July 2014

    Customers who have integrated Oracle Payments with Chase Paymentech payment system are being contacted by Paymentech informing them about the impending desupport of standard File Transfer Protocol (FTP).  Customers are being advised to look for alternate protocol to connect to Paymentech for credit card and direct debit payment processing.  Oracle Payments product management and development is aware of Paymentech PTK decomissioning FTP after July 2014. They are currently evaluating using SFTP as an alternative.  Please monitor Doc ID 1586425.1 for the latest updates.

    A question came up today about whether it was a bug that the TRUSTWORTHY database setting isn't restored to its previous value when a database is restored. TRUSTWORTHY is a very powerful setting for a database. By design, it's not restored when a database is.     There is a feature, called index skip scan that has been in Oracle since version 9i. When I across this, it seemed like a very clever trick, but not a critical capability. More recently, I have been advocating DW on SSD in approrpiate situations, and I am thinking this is now a valuable feature in keeping the number of nonclustered indexes to a minimum.
