  • Get info from multiple files, match it and then display to end user, what is fastest?

    Hi, I need to build a website where we display data that is refreshed every 5minutes in a text file with a | separator. I currently use Java to do this. What I do now: I grab the textfile for every request through the website and process it and then display the data to the end user, this works fine, since Java can go through like 5000 lines of data fast, and when I filter it it is still extremely fast. However now the management wants the following: They added 3 textfiles with the | separator to it, and now want me to also read those files and match the information on certain fields, and if there is a match also display that information to the end user. I think soon enough, although Java is fast, I will run into trouble when 10 people want that information and I have to run through 4 total files matching the information. What can I do to make this process super fast? My Creative solutions so far: -Leave it this way, since Java is fast and end users can wait (probably less then 1second) -Have a background process that dumps new data into a MySQL database every 5minutes, since databases are extremely good at getting the same data from multiple tables.   • Discussion - Allowing / blocking user access to pages / Client Side Validation (Client Side Only!) -

    TLDR Using plain HTML / Javascript (Client Side) I want to prevent viewing of certain pages. The user will have to type a username and password and depending on that they get access to different pages. Answers can NOT include server side whatsoever It does not matter if they can break it easily. There is no sensitive information etc. Also the target audience will not have access to internet OR probably know what a cookie is... At some point the user will have to type username / password.(I can define the cookie here) Currently I thought of using cookies to set a cookie for each page to say "true" / "false" but that would get messy with so many cookies. Or setting an array within a cookie for each page? I have div field "#Content" which as it looks encompasses all of my content on the page so blocking out content will be as simple as replacing it with ("sorry you don't have access") etc. For Example: $.cookie("Access","page1, page2, page3"{ expires: 1 }); I am looking for anyway to do this does not have to be with cookies. Would be nice to get a discussion of different ways this can be done. So the question is: What do YOU think would be a good way to go about doing this with client side validation? Also on another note discussion on how to make client side more secure or ways to do so are acceptable.

    I'm having trouble getting data from MongoDB using mongoose schemas with express. I first tested with just mongoose in a single file (mongoosetest.js) and it works fine. But when I start dividing it all up with express routes and config files, things start to break.     The code is for a view debate page. The code is supposed to determine whether or not to show an add reply form to the viewing user. If the user is logged in, and the user is not the creator of the debate, then check if the user already replied to the debate. If the user did not already reply to the debate then show the form... Otherwise, Check If the user wants to edit their already existing reply by looking in the url for the reply id If any of these tests dont pass, Then I save the reason as an int and pass that to a switch statement in the view. The logic seems easy enough, but my code seems a little sloppy. Here's the code..     Hi i'm having a little trouble with a has_many through relationship for my app and was hoping to find some help. So i've got Users & Lectures. Lectures are created by one user but then other users can then "join" the Lectures that have been created. Users have their own profile feed of the Lectures they have created & also have a feed of Lectures friends have created. This question however is not about creating a lecture but rather "Joining" a lecture that has been created already. I've created a "lecturerelationships" model & controller to handle this relationship between Lectures & the Users who have Joined (which i call "actives"). Users also then MUST "Exit" the Lecture (either by clicking "Exit" or navigating to one of the header navigation links). I'm grateful if anyone can work through some of this with me...   • Auth-Type :- Reject in RADIUS users file matches inner tunnel request but sends Access-Accept

    I have WPA2 802.11x EAP authentication setup using FreeRADIUS 2.1.8 on Ubuntu 10.04.4 talking to OpenLDAP, and can successfully authenticate using PEAP/MSCHAPv2, TTLS/MSCHAPv2 and TTLS/PAP (both via the AP and using eapol_test). I am now trying to restrict access to specific SSIDs based on the LDAP groups which the user belongs to. I have configured group membership checking in /etc/freeradius/modules/ldap like so: groupname_attribute = cn groupmembership_filter = "(|(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=%{User-Name}))(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(uniquemember=%{User-Name})))" and I have configured extraction of the SSID from Called-Station-Id into Called-Station-SSID based on the Mac Auth wiki page. In /etc/freeradius/eap.conf I have enabled copying attributes from the outer tunnel into the inner tunnel, and usage of the inner tunnel response in the outer tunnel (for both PEAP and TTLS). I had the same behaviour before changing these options however. copy_request_to_tunnel = yes use_tunneled_reply = yes I'm running eapol_test like this to test the setup: eapol_test -c peap-mschapv2.conf -a 172.16.0.16 -s testing123 -N 30:s:01-23-45-67-89-01:Example-EAP with the following peap-mschapv2.conf file: network={ ssid="Example-EAP" key_mgmt=WPA-EAP eap=PEAP identity="mgorven" anonymous_identity="anonymous" password="foobar" phase2="autheap=MSCHAPV2" } With the following in /etc/freeradius/users: DEFAULT Ldap-Group == "employees" and running freeradius-Xx, I can see that the LDAP group retrieval works, and that the SSID is extracted.     WAMP installed fine, no problems, BUT... When going to phpMyAdmin, I get the error from phpMyAdmin as follows: "Cannot load mysqli extension. Please check your PHP configuration". Also, phpMyAdmin documentation explains this error message as follows: "To connect to a MySQL server, PHP needs a set of MySQL functions called "MySQL extension". This extension may be part of the PHP distribution (compiled-in), otherwise it needs to be loaded dynamically.   • XSP2 crashes serving static images

    Hi, Requesting a simple HTML page with a jpg image makes XSP2 crash. If I remove the image from the HTML then the page is served OK all the time. The version is XSP2 2.0 mono 2.6.1. the version 2.4.2.2 in the same machine works fine. I have tested it in two different machines, both Windows Vista Business SP1. Anyone has experienced the same? Any clue of what can be the problem?
