Hi I am new to WPF.. Can any one tell what is the difference between standalone applications and XAML browser applications (XBAPs) and how it differs in handling navigation and other stuff..
Hello;
I have a Flex application, I want to scroll the page to bottom when a button is pressed.
Scroll bars is added by browser, they do not belong to flex app or component.
I can do this by javascript but is there a way to do this with action script?
Thanks.

I want to display OpenOffice files, .odt and .odp at client side using a web browser.
These files are zipped files. Using Ajax, I can get these files from server but these are zipped files. I have to unzip them using JavaScript, I have tried using inflate.js, http://www.onicos.com/staff/iz/amuse/javascript/expert/inflate.txt, but without success.
How can I do this?
In the Javascript Shell, I click the browser.xul link and:
$.ajax({url:'http://www.test.com/', async: false}).responseText; works
(async default is true)
$.ajax({url:'http://www.test.com/'}).responseText; doesn't work
what are the ways to make it work?
If you visit this page and shrink your browser window, you will see my problem. [If you want to open the page in a new window, just hold down shift when you click the link.]
The answers to the question extend beyond the page margin instead of wrapping.
I have spent the last half hour working with Chrome's Inspector and Firefox's DOM inspector - all to no avail. I just cannot figure out why it's doing this.
I have a weird requirement. Is there a way to allow someone the ability to create folders, edit files, add files on a server without using a FTP client. This would ideally be browser based and under one admin sesssion.

Hi,
I would like to open a webpage and run a javascript function from within a java app.
For example I would like to open the page www.mytestpage.com and run the following javascript code:document.getElementById("txtEmail").value="[email protected]";submit();void(0);
This works in a browser...how can I do it programatically?
Thanks!
Is it possible to have special characters like åäö in the key? If i urlencode the key before storing it works, but i cant really find a way to access the object. If i write åäö in the url i get access denied (like i get if the object is not found). If i urlencode the url i paste in the browser i get "InvalidURICouldn't parse the specified URI".
Is there some way to do this?
I am working on a browser plug-in for Firefox, and I would like to be able to do some automated testing to make sure that it's handling a variety of different HTML/JavaScript features correctly. Does anyone know of a good downloadable corpus of HTML and/or JavaScript pages that could be used for this type of testing?
I found out that when pressing back button it gets previous page from browser cache even if I send following headers:
Test1.aspx
Server ASP.NET Development Server/9.0.0.0
Date Wed, 24 Mar 2010 17:49:40 GMT
X-AspNet-Version 2.0.50727
Location Test2.aspx
Cache-Control no-cache, no-store
Pragma no-cache
Expires -1
Content-Type text/html; charset=utf-8
Content-Length 189
Connection Close
I recently got my first app to work in uWSGI with Cherokee. I used the following code taken from the uWSGI docs:
def application(environ, start_response):
start_response('200 OK', [('Content-Type', 'text/plain')])
yield 'Hello World\n'
The page correctly reads Hello World. When I change that text to New Thing and refresh, nothing changes. What am I forgetting?
What I've tried:
clearing browser history and cache
stopping and starting Cherokee
I'm trying to parse a page that has different sections that are loaded with a Javascript __doPostBack() function.
An example of a link is: javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMain$ucOemSchPicker$dlSch$ctl03$btnSch','')
As soon as this is clicked, the browser doesn't fetch a new URL but a section of webpage is updated to reflect new information.
What would I pass into a urllib function to complete the operation?
Hi I have the address of a property and my application can launch a browser to go to http://maps.google.com?q=searchStringHere. If a good match is found it will take it directly there. Is there any thing I can append to the url to make it switch to streetview without having the exact coordinates? I dont't want to code any javascript or flash.
I wrote a firefox extension which simply re-formats a page using some JQuery. But, it's interfering with another extension that places a button on the header panel of the browser. Now that button doesn't display. Can some one point me in the right direction as to when this happens. This is my first fire-fox extension.
Thanks,
D
Is there a way to allow a user, after he has created a vector graph on a javascript svg canvas using a browser, to download this file to their local filesystem?
SVG is a total new field for me so please be patient if my wording is not accurate.
kind regards,
Jeroen.
I want excel files on a website to open in Excel when clicked, not get saved on desktop, or get opened embedded in a browser etc. Now obviously it all depends on how everything is configured for each user, but what's the best Content-Type and other settings to achieve just that most of the time?
In my routes.rb I have this:
map.namespace :admin do |admin|
admin.resources :galleries do |galleries|
galleries.resources :gallery_images, :as=>'images'
end
end
rake routes shows the route created like this:
admin_gallery GET /admin/galleries/:id
and when I go to this url in my browser:
http://192.168.2.2:3000/admin/galleries/11/
I get this error:
Unknown action
No action responded to 11
But I would have expected it to use the show action/view, what am I doing wrong?
Is there a way using jQuery or Javascript to force a page to open in Firefox? For example, if the user has their default browser set to internet explorer, but they have firefox on their computer - open a new firefox window with the intended page. If so, I would need to check to see if they have firefox on their machine; otherwise, redirect to the mozilla firefox download site...
any suggestions?
I want to do an HTTP POST that looks like an HMTL form posted from a browser. Specifically, post some text fields and a file field.
Posting text fields is straightforward, there's an example right there in the net/http rdocs, but I can't figure out how to post a file along with it.
Net::HTTP doesn't look like the best idea. curb is looking good.
You always read in changelogs when your system or browser or any program updates that they fixed a bug that made possible that an attacker can execute any code in your computer with a forged website, or attacking your computer with carefully forged packets, etc...
Because you read it so often that means any program can have similar vulnerabilites... What causes this? how to design our programs to prevent similar issues?
Hi I have host web application which is developed using java and jsp. In client side each client give five ajax calls to the server to retrieve data from the server in every 30 seconds.

Question:
I have a website where I gather browser statistics.
I have an SQL table (T_Visits), with the following columns:
uniqueidentifier Visit_UID,
uniqueidentifier User_UID,
datetime Visit_DateTime,
float Screen_w,
float Screen_h,
float Resolution = Screen_w * Screen_h
varchar resolutionstring = screen_w + ' x ' + screen_h
Now I want to get the maximum/minimum resolution each user had:
Select User_UID, max(resolution) from T_Visits GROUP BY User_UID
How can I get the corresponding resolution string ?
I mean I can get the max(screen_w) and max(screen_h), but there's no guarantee that the corresponding resolutionstring would be max(screen_w) +' x '+ max(screen_h)
Just like the question says, I want to be able to use psexec to start Internet Explorer, then load a particular website in the browser. I know how to start IE, just can't make a command that goes to a particular webpage. This is what I have so far:
psexec "C:\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
I just can't figure the syntax for loading anything other than the default start page
Thanks!
