• Possible to stop Adobe DreamWeaver from rewriting 'onclick' to 'onClick'? [closed]

  I've been giving my dev team grief by checking in HTML edited in DW. It turns out that DW has silently been rewriting all instances of 'onclick' to 'onClick' completely breaking the application in Webkit on us. I've done some digging on Google and this appears to be a bug that goes back to at least 2004. Supposedly it has nothing to do with your code re-writing settings and what triggers it is opening any document that does not contain a Doctype. Few of ours do, given that we're maintaining a framework that's using all sorts of include and dependency files. In all my Googling, I haven't found a fix, though. Has anyone come across one short of swearing off Adobe products forever?* something, btw, that I'm perfectly fine doing...it's just that given the insane IT lockdown on our work machines, we have very few software choices. For now, It's Notepad++ for me.

• Can I create two databases, each for different directories?

  I have run Recoll which created a database for my data partition on my internal hard drive. The database is stored under my home partition in the same internal hard drive. I now want to run Recoll to create a database for a dicrectory on my external hard drive, and store this new database on that external hard drive, because my internal hard drive doesn't have enough space to hold the new database. I was wondering how to do that in Recoll? Note: my current Recoll was installed from software center of Ubuntu 12.04. Thanks!

• (SYSLINUX QUESTION) How to launch command prompt once syslinux boots up

  I have created a bootable USB drive using SYSLINUX I am booting my x86 system correctly. Once system boots I want to stop at console (command prompt) where I can type linux commands (cd etc) and run my executable file manually. Does that mean I have to have busy box installed (for basic commands). What makes system stop at command prompt? I do have /dev/console. My serial console is tty1. • Ubuntu and surround sound

  I'm trying to connect my Logitech x.530 to my Dell studio 1558 and get 5.1 sound. I have 3 jacks and in Windows I automatically could switch between line in adn mic. Which means I could get 5.1 surround over these 3 jacks. Ubuntu does not realise that one of the three jacks should be switched to give sound to the center and LFE speaker. I tried all the tips in the forums, but nothing works. I can only select 4.0 sound in pulse audio. As the dell and the IDT 92hd89e chip for the sound are probably famous laptops I thought there must be someone who has similar issues in the 5.1 sound. I would like to stay at Linux but without this hardware support it's almost impossible.

The NetBeans team has released the NetBeans IDE 7.0.1 RC 1 which will bring full compatibility with JDK 7 as well as GlassFish 3.1.1 support (this particular RC ships with the soft code freeze build of GlassFish 3.1.1). This 7.0.1 RC 1release also includes numerous bugfixes and performance improvements across all areas and is available from the usual download page and the final version of NetBeans IDE 7.0.1 is expected in late July (once JDK 7 has shipped would be an educated guess). Note that if you're an existing NetBeans 7.0 user you'll be offered with updates to your existing install via the Update Center once 7.0.1 final ships.

  When I press Fn+F6 the change in brightness is too big. How can I make it move less than it does now? (Let's say, half that, for example.) (11.04/Gnome. I'm on proprietary nvidia drivers.) • How to install aircrack on Ubuntu 12.04

  I have downloaded the tar.gz package from the site and then I have extracted using tar -zxvf command as mentioned over there. After that I used sudo apt-get install build-essential then I further installed libssl-dev. Then I changed directory to the aircrack folder. But when I type either sudo make or just make I am getting this same error. I don't know what to do. I have installed the file what they have asked in the error as well. Still the same error is shown. Okay I am not permitted to upload images. The error is : common.mak:85: *** Cannot find development files for any supported version of libnl. install either libnl1 or libnl3.. Stop.

• My computter wont shutdown

  If I try to shutdown my computer it simply takes me back to the login-screen. I looked around and found : Type in terminal: 1. sudo gedit /etc/default/grub 2. Find the line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" 3. Change this to: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi=force" 4. Save the file and close the file. 5. Finally, in terminal: sudo update-grub but now there is a new problem. if I try step 5 it says: myname@ubuntu:~$ sudo update-grub [sudo] password for myname: /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?). myname@ubuntu:~$ I am new whit linux and dont know what to do.

• Wine not working in 12.04?

  I updated to Ubuntu 12.04 by doing a clean install from a CD. I installed Wine, Q4wine, WineTricks, PlayOnLinux all from the Software Center. After installing Kindle For PC(I ran it in 11.10 as well) Wine doesn't open it. Then I tried to install a game (Eastside Hockey Manager 2007) that I have had Installed on all my previous versions of Ubuntu, again Wine returned an error saying that the installer GUI would not load. So far I'm lost as to why this is happening. Does anyone have an idea?

• 12.04 precise HDMI not working on ATI Radeon

  This is precisely a 12.04 HDMI output problem, because it works for 11.10 - everything else are the same, only the OS version is different. The symptom is that on my HDMI output TV screen, it always shows Unsupported resolution even after setting it to the resolution that works on Ubuntu 11.10 (via gnome-control-center, in which it detects my TV just fine), I still don't see any output on TV. The audio is not working either. I think it is 12.04's problem, because if I boot into Ubuntu 11.10, and everything else remain the same, HDMI output (video & audio) work just fine. 12.04 is a freshly installed, just the vanilla Ubuntu HD installation. How should I nailed down / fix the problem?

• Need some help fixing fonts (11.04 Alpha 3)

  Hi I changed my Application Font and Window Font to something much better looking but it has a few problems. The font is Umpush Light. It's doing this in the software center: http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/8307/workspace1004.png If I increase the font size from 11 to 12, that problem goes away, but then everything is too large. When I increase it this also happens: http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/6231/workspace1006e.png It starts moving the text in the search box up, and the "All Applications" drop down gets messed up too. It seems like there is too much padding around the font or something. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

• 12.04 boot failure after update

  I am using 12.04 and updated using Synaptic Package Manager. Now, however, when I turn on the machine it fails to boot, just a blank screen. If I shut off the machine and start it again and press F12 (on my laptop) to get the boot menu and select the default for HD-0 it boots OK. I had previously used Update Center and had a similar problem, which I corrected by reverting to "Previous" setup. Are there any fixes for this problem or am I unique in this situation. • Unable to install Xdebug

  I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? • Problem connecting to Hsqldb via Hibernate when running a Eclipse GWT project.

  Hi, I'm trying to run a simple GWT project where I'm trying to do a simple persitence via hibernate to a HSQLDB database. The database I'm using I have been using for at least 2 years with several osgi applications without any problems. So all I done is reused the same configuration and added a simple object mapping file. The problem I have is that I get a socket creation error when ever I try to persist the object with in GWT jetty. I now the database is up and running, I can telnet to it, run OSGI projects that uses the same config with out problems.   I'm currently working on a Joomla template using CSS divs. I have a header set up with our logo image in a div floated to the left, an adspace floated to the right, and the menu bar on the bottom. My content is divided into three div columns that are contained in "container.": the left column is floated left, the center is not floated, and the right is floated to the right. • ie7 innerhtml strange display problem

  Hello, I am having a strange problem with ie7 (ie8 in compatibility mode). I have div containers where I am updating values using javascript innhtml to update the values. This works fine in Firefox and ie8. In ie7 the values do not update but if a click on the values and highlight them then they update, also if a change the height of the browser then on the next update the values get updated correctly. I have figured out that if I change the position property of the outer div container from relative to static then the updates work correctly. The page can be viewed here http://islendingasogur.net/test/webmap_html_test.html In internet explorer 8 with compatibility turned on you can see that the timestamp in the gray box only gets updated one time, after that you see no changes. The timestamp in the lower right corner gets updated every 10 seconds. But if you highlight the text in the gray box then the updated timestamp values appears! • HTML5 Form: Page Is Reloading Instantly After Restyling (And It Shouldn't Be)

  I have a form. I have made it so that if your name is not put in, a red border is put on the name field. That works, BUT...it's for a split second, and then the page reloads. I want the red border to appear, and then stay there. For some reason it's for a split second. Can someone help me make it so the page doesn't reload after displaying the red border?
