  • Cannot boot into Ubuntu after installing Ubuntu 12.04 (with Windows 7 on another partition)

    I just installed Ubuntu on my desktop which had Windows 7 installed on it. When I restart the machine after completing the installation, It directly loads windows, I don't see the grub menu. I tried using boot-repair using the LiveCD (both recommended fixes AND fixing the MBR), it did not help. What am I missing? I have done this at least 5 other times, on different machines, and have never faced this issue before.

    I previously installed Ubuntu on a computer that had Windows XP on it and got it successfully to run alongside it. (access both OS systems) Now I installed Ubuntu again on my MSI notebook with Windows 8.1, and I cannot access the GRUB without hitting escape on startup, and even then, I can no longer open windows. Before all of this, I created a recovery point, file history and saved a back up on a external hard drive incase I did anything wrong. Now how can I revert my computer back to it's state before installation.

Then I selected Samsung Galaxy s5 4.4.2 on Genymotion, downloaded it succesfully either, but I've got problems in installation of APK. So I did genymotion translation 1.1 and gapps-kk, but yet my APK didn't work. When I started Genymotion appeared viber, tango, Google service, etc, but unfortunately it has stopped.

The jerkiness is shown more at small and slow movements when the mouse will move a 2 millimeters to any random positions every 5 centimeters of movements. my mouse is a Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming mouse. is there any driver I can use to fix it or any configuration? this is happening both in unity or inside games and programs.

Everything went smoothly and I was given the "for installation to finish, need to reboot" screen. I removed the flash drive, the PC restarted. I was expecting to be greeted with the menu where I choose the OS I want to launch, but instead the Windows happily starts.

    Hey everyone, I am using Raphael js to draw circled numbers. The problem is that each number has a different width/height so using one set of coordinates to center the text isn't working. The text displays differently between IE, FF, and safari. Is there a dynamic way to find the height/width of the number and center it accordingly?     I need to apply paragraph formatting to a selection in a rich text box. My RTB will behave the same way as the rich text boxes on StackOverflow--the user can type text into the RTB, but they can also enter code blocks. The RTB will apply very simple formatting to the code block--it will change the font and apply a background color to the entire block, similar to what you see in the code block below. Changing the font is pretty straightforward: var textRange = new TextRange(rtb.Selection.Start, rtb.Selection.End); textRange.ApplyPropertyValue(TextElement.FontFamilyProperty, "Consolas"); textRange.ApplyPropertyValue(TextElement.FontSizeProperty, 10D ); Now I need to apply some paragraph-level formatting. I need to set the paragraph margin to 0, so I don't get a blank line between code lines, and I need to set the paragraph background color. Here's my problem: I can't figure out how to get the paragraph elements from the selection, so that I can apply formatting. Any suggestions? An example of how to apply the Margin and Background properties would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

    Hi! I would like to use a TabControl as the main navigation in the application I am working on. So I would like to make the font in the headers of the TabItems bigger and also give it another background-color. However, I do not want this to be inherited. For example, if I use this code: <TabControl FontSize="18pt"> <TabItem Header="Tab 1"> <Button>Button 1</Button> </TabItem> </TabControl> The font in the button is also 18pt big. I know that this is normal dependency property behaviour because the property is inherited, but that's not what I want in this case. I would like to change the TabItems without changing anything in the children. Isn't that possible? Because re-setting all children to default values is a PITA. Thanks for your time.

  • Problem Rendering SIFR with revision 436 on IE6 and IE7

    Hi, I seem to have a problem with SIFR3. I'm using version 436 and from all my testing it appears to be a problem associated with IE6 and IE7 as I cannot replicate the issue in Firefox, Chrome, Safari for Windows, or even IE8. The problem is occurring on my company's website and can be seen here: http://www.wyldeia.co.uk/blog.php When you first go to the page in IE6 or IE7 it appears to render fine. However if you click away onto another page and then click the back button in the browser, all of the text is replaced by an error saying "Rendered with sIFR3 revision 436". If you refresh the page, then the problem goes away, that is until you browse away and come back again. I've tried this on two separate machines both running IE7.0.6000.16809, and a further separate machine running IE6 which I then upgraded to IE8. I thought initially it might be Flash player related but on upgrading from version 9 to 10 of the flash player the problem remains. Further digging around indicated that the error can be caused by having a corrupted flash font file, or having one present that was generated with a previous revision of SIFR3. However I have exported the flash font file using the supplied fla with revision 436 but the problem remains. Usually I like to track the answer down myself but as it is I'm at a bit of a loss on this one so if anyone has any ideas what might be happening here then I would be very grateful! Regards, Mark

  • Is it possible to seletively color a wrapping TextBlock in Silverlight/WPF

    For instance, if I have a TextBlock: "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum." I want the first 10% of this TextBlock, such that the font color should be red, and the rest should be green. This perhaps means it would color the "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisici", and part of the "n". Basically pixel-wise font coloring instead of character-wise. Another important behavior is that the percentage respects the wrapping, in that if 50% of the TextBlock contents is colored, it should mean 50% of the text in reading order is colored, and not the first half of the block.   • CSS div/overflow Question: Why does the first HTML file work but not the second?

    Notice how the first HTML/CSS works when you re-size the browser horizontally. It will shrink no further than around 800 pixels, but it will expand as far as you drag the right edge of the browser. It will also correctly overflow the table at the top and scroll it horizontally. The thing I don't like about the first code snippet is where the scrollbar is. I want it to show up within the borders of the fieldset, so even if I narrow the browser down to 800 pixels wide, I can see both the left and right sides of the fieldset's border. The second code snippet is exactly the same as the first except I add another div tag to the mix, inside of the field set and around the grid. Notice how the top fieldset's width won't correctly shrink when you make the viewport of your browser narrower. Any ideas on why it doesn't work, what I can do to get it to work like the first code snippet? I don't think I'm describing this clearly, but if you run the two side by side, and expand and contract the horizontal edge of your browser windows, you'll see the differences between the two. I'm pretty new to CSS and HTML layout, so my understanding of why CSS handles sizing the way it does in some situations is still really confusing to me.   • open flash chart rails x-axis issue

    Hey guys, I am using open flash chart 2 in my rails application. Everything is looking smooth except for the range on my x axis. I am creating a line to represent cell phone plan cost over a specific amount of usage and I'm generate 8 values, 1-5 are below the allowed usage while 6-8 are demonstrations of the cost for usage over the limit. The problem I'm encountering is how to set the range of the X axis in ruby on rails to something specific to the data. Right now the values being displayed are the indexes of the array that I'm giving. When I try to hand a hash to the values the chart doesn't even load at all. So basically I need help getting a way to set the data for my line properly so that it displays correctly, right now it is treating every value as if it represents the x value of the index of the array.
