  • How the jQuery TinyMCE and jQuery RSV get to work?

    I'm using RSV to validate form element, and tinymce to convert textarea to editor. The textarea is included to be checked by rsv validator using 'required', since the textarea is being converted to tinymce editor. Theres a problem on the validation, even i entered the value in the editor the validator says that textarea is a null. How can i validate the textarea using RSV? any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Execute jQuery code when images have loaded from external resource

    Hi all, I'm getting users profile pictures from Facebook so their loading time varies quite a lot. When they have loaded I want to resize them. I have the resizing code working OK, but cannot get the actual code to execute reliably at the right time. According to the info I've found this should work: $('.userPic').load(function () { ... code to resize pictures }); But it doesn't seem 100% reliable. Any other hints or tips? Thanks Nick Swan

  • stumped on jquery call inside chrome extension

    In my chrome extension I call this: jsonPost = { email:"[email protected]", password:"demo", content: $('#selected_text').val(), notification_type: $('#notification_type').val(), name:$('#notification_name').val() } $.post('http://localhost:3000/api/create.json', jsonPost, function (data) { console.log("type of data = " + typeof(data)); console.log("data in function = " + data); } The data makes it to the server. But the response is lost, in the console ---type of data = String ---data in function = So for some reason I am not getting the response back. Works from the browser. I even tried doing a get against cnn.com and got no response. any ideas? thanks

  • Finding the index of a list item in jQuery

    I have an unordered list of eight items. On page load the first five <li> have default thumbnail images in them and the 6th one has a 1px by 1px placeholder image with the ID of $('#last'). When a user inserts a new image it replaces the 'src' of $('#last') with their new image. It's not the most efficient way but it works. <ul> <li><img src="img1.png" /></li> <li><img src="img2.png" /></li> <li><img src="img3.png" /></li> <li><img src="img4.png" /></li> <li><img src="img5.png" /></li> <li><img src="1px.png" id="last"/></li> <li></li> <li></li> </ul> When the user adds a new image the ID of $('#last') is removed and I use each() to find the next empty <li> and insert the 1px by 1px image in it, with an ID of $('#last') so it is ready for the next image upload. At this point I need to get the index() of the <li> that now has the 1px by 1px image in it, whose ID is $('#last'), so that I can store the index in the session, so when a user comes back to the page the $('#last') ID is still set and ready to accept another image. How do I get the index of the <li> with that image in it, since it was set after page load? Is there a way to use delegate() or on() to get it? i.e. how do I get the index of an element that was set after page load?

  • Can I delay the keyup event for jquery?

    I'm using the rottentomatoes movie API in conjunction with twitter's typeahead plugin using bootstrap 2.0. I've been able to integerate the API but the issue I'm having is that after every keyup event the API gets called. This is all fine and dandy but I would rather make the call after a small pause allowing the user to type in several characters first.     Hi, given to certain circumstances, I'm forced to keep page settings (Javascript-values) in the session and it has to be done right before leaving the page (I can't use cookies, since "pageSettings" can become quite large and localStorage is not an option yet ;) ). So this is how I tried it.     As usually seemingly simple things take days to resolve, maybe someone could point me to a solution but after 2 days I give up on the following problem; In html, in a form I have a button that is supposed to trigger loading of data through ajax call: <button type="" class="btn" onclick="getData(); return false;">Show Data</button> in javascript: $(document).ajaxStart(function() { $("#qloader").show(); }).ajaxStop(function() { $("#qloader").hide('slow'); });? and in html div with id qloader is defined with 100% width and height and spinner centered as the background, z-index above other: <div id="qloader" class="myLoader" >&nbsp;</div> Now, when page loads, ajax call is executed to get initial data, qloader div is brought up and it shows the spinner - animated, after ajax call finishes, qloader is hidden by ajaxStop. Next, when I click on a button (show data) to initiate another ajax call, ajaxStart is triggered, but it does not show qloader, it waits until ajaxStop is triggered and then in a blink of eye it shows qloader and hides it. I suspected that ajaxStart is not executed, so I put alert before $("#qloader").show(), then alert would be displayed and after that qloader WOULD be displayed BUT spinner animation would be suspended - no spinning, and after ajaxStop it would get hidden. Without alert in ajaxStart trigger, in subsequent ajax calls div is not shown until just before ajaxStop is triggered. It works fine for the first ajax call, but for subsequent ajax call triggered by click on form button it does not work. Any idea what is wrong with this setup?

So I'm creating a bezier curve between 2 points with beginPath(); bezierCurveTo(); stroke(); closePath(); . How can I remove this from the canvas once it's been created?
