• iPad issue with a modal view: modal view label null after view controller is created

  This is a weird issue. I have created a view controller with a nib file for my modal view. On that view there is a label, number and text view. When I create the view from the source view, I tried to set the label, but it shows that the label is null (0x0). Kinda weird... Any suggestions? • Using depends with the jQuery Validation plugin

  I've got a form with a bunch of textboxes that are disabled by default, then enabled by use of a checkbox next to each one. When enabled, the values in these textboxes are required to be a valid number, but when disabled they don't need a value (obviously). I'm using the jQuery Validation plugin to do this validation, but it doesn't seem to be doing what I expect. When I click the checkbox and disable the textbox, I still get the invalid field error despite the depends clause I've added to the rules (see code below). Oddly, what actually happens is that the error message shows for a split second then goes away.   Hi all: This is uni homework so sorry about :my password protected url Please enter usersame as "uts" and password as "10479475", without the wrapper quotes. It it almost completed, please follow simple steps to see where my problem dwells: step1: click on any continent highlighted on world map; step2: click on any city marked on continent map; step3: enter quantity ranging from 1 to 6 into the upper-right table; step4 : there you go, in the table below, once row is equal or greater than 3, then the size of table starts to "overlap" on top of the footer section and continues to grow, which is not what I want. I want to achieve the effect that the table size has a limited max-height, so once actual height exceeds the threshold, then I can have a vertical scroll bar so to "stack up" my table and not to break the overall structure. It turns out that my lazy initial design now gets myself stuck in a problem... Any suggestion and hint on how to get this?

  I need a way to use the jquery .live() function to act on elements that are loaded via ajax. For instance a div is loaded via ajax .load() <div id="mydiv"></div> Normally I do .live() with a click event, but I need to know how to tell the dom that this new div has loaded without any explicit actions/events from the user. • WPF MVVM: TextBox and default Button binding does update too late

  I've got a simple WPF dialog with these two controls: <TextBox Text="{Binding MyText}"/> <Button Command="{Binding MyCommand}" IsDefault="True"/> Now, when I enter some text in the TextBox and click the button using the mouse, everything works like expected: the TextBox will set MyText and MyCommand is called. But when I enter some text and hit enter to "click" the default button, it does not work. Since on hitting enter the focus does not leave the TextBox, the binding will not be refresh MyText. So when MyCommand is called (which works), MyText will contain old data. How do I fix this in MVVM? In classic code-behind I probably just would call "MyButton.Focus()" in the MyCommand handler, but in MVVM the MyCommand handler does know nothing about the button. So what now`?

In the script which uses the module, it seems to be necessary to specify a long directory path including the version of Perl, like so: #!/usr/local/bin/perl use lib '/non/standard/location/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.9/'; use A::B; Is there any use lib or other statement which I can use which is not so long and verbose, and which does not include the actual version of Perl, in order that I don't have to go back and edit this out of the program if the version of Perl is upgraded?

  Hi, In my application I have 4 tabs in my tab bar. There is a navigation where if i click on a button on tab bar 2 view, it should take me to tab bar 3 view. I am doing this by using setting the selectedIndex property of tab bar like appDelegate.tabBarController.selectedIndex = 2; However, this doesn't reload the view of tab bar 3. It simply shows the tab bar 3 view that was last accessed (which may be down the navigation hieararchy in tab bar 3). Please help as to how can i reload the root view of tab bar 3. I tried having the delegate method of tabbar as below: - (void)tabBarController:(UITabBarController *)tabBarController didSelectViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController { [viewController.navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:FALSE]; } but this works only if I click on a tab to go to the view and doesn't work with selectedIndex.Please help.

  I'm trying to create a LSUIElement app that behaves like Spotlight, CoverSutra and other apps of that type. I managed to create a custom NSStatusItem, which popups up an NSWindow but the problem is that the app that currently has focus will the focus to my custom NSWindow. I've based myself on Matt Gemmell's example (http://mattgemmell.com/2008/03/04/using-maattachedwindow-with-an-nsstatusitem) For example, if you're in Safari and click on the Spotlight icon, the current Safari window does not gray out and keeps focused. When you press ESC in Spotlight, the focus is back to the Safari window. I haven't managed to do this with my custom NSWindow. I have to click back on a window to set focus back to it. So I'd like to know which route to go to achieve this. Is the solution a NSWindow, NSPanel, NSMenu with a custom NSMenuItem?

• C# Dynamically created LinkButton Command Event Handler

  So I have a weird situation here... I have an System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.EditorPart class. It renders a "Search" button, when you click this button, it's clickHandler method does a DB search, and dynamically creates a LinkButton for each row it returns, sets the CommandName and CommandArgument properties and adds a CommandEventHandler method, then adds the LinkButton control to the page. The problem is, when you click a LinkButton, its CommandEventHandler method is never called, it looks like the page just posts back to where it was before the ORIGINAL "Search" button was pressed. I have seen postings saying that you need to add the event handlers in OnLoad() or some other early method, but my LinkButtons haven't even been created until the user tells us what to search for and hits the "Search" button... Any ideas on how to deal with this? Thanks!

• Facebox window closes after submit

  Hi all I have a question regarding Facebox. When I click a certain link on my page, the Facebox modal window opens just fine. But inside this modal window I'd like to have a form that users can submit. When the users click the submit-button, the whole page refreshes, and my Facebox-window is closed. This makes sense to me, but I'd like it to work differently. I want to give the user a confirmation, inside of the modal window, after they have submitted the form. So when a user clicks the submit-button, a confirmation should be showed inside og the modal-window. Anybody know if this is possible?   I am trying to disable a sortable element from sorting when it has been double clicked. I don't need it to be this method. Literally anything thing that stops it will work. The problem is, sorting starts on a single click, but I have another action bound to double click. • Need Help with Jquery TableSorter Pager plugin.

  Hi I am using the tablesorter plugin: http://tablesorter.com/docs/ with jquery 1.4.2 Now my problem is this. The user can dynamically add rows to the table. But this seems to mess up the paging. Like first it gets added to the first "page" of rows but if you would go to the second page and you go back to the first page. You newly record is gone. I don't know where it goes but it is just gone. I tried to do this $('#pagerid').unbind('click'); $('#tbl tbody ').append(response.HtmlRow); $('#tbl').trigger('update'); So I tried to unbind the pager click method and do a trigger update but that does not seem to work. • Parsing concatenated, non-delimited XML messages from TCP-stream using C#

  I am trying to parse XML messages which are send to my C# application over TCP. Unfortunately, the protocol can not be changed and the XML messages are not delimited and no length prefix is used. Moreover the character encoding is not fixed but each message starts with an XML declaration <?xml>. The question is, how can i read one XML message at a time, using C#. Up to now, I tried to read the data from the TCP stream into a byte array and use it through a MemoryStream. The problem is, the buffer might contain more than one XML messages or the first message may be incomplete. In these cases, I get an exception when trying to parse it with XmlReader.Read or XmlDocument.Load, but unfortunately the XmlException does not really allow me to distinguish the problem (except parsing the localized error string). I tried using XmlReader.Read and count the number of Element and EndElement nodes. That way I know when I am finished reading the first, entire XML message. However, there are several problems. If the buffer does not yet contain the entire message, how can I distinguish the XmlException from an actually invalid, non-well-formed message? In other words, if an exception is thrown before reading the first root EndElement, how can I decide whether to abort the connection with error, or to collect more bytes from the TCP stream? If no exception occurs, the XmlReader is positioned at the start of the root EndElement. Casting the XmlReader to IXmlLineInfo gives me the current LineNumber and LinePosition, however it is not straight forward to get the byte position where the EndElement really ends. In order to do that, I would have to convert the byte array into a string (with the encoding specified in the XML declaration), seek to LineNumber,LinePosition and convert that back to the byte offset. I try to do that with StreamReader.ReadLine, but the stream reader gives no public access to the current byte position. All this seams very inelegant and non robust. I wonder if you have ideas for a better solution. Thank you. EDIT: I looked around and think that the situation is as follows (I might be wrong, corrections are welcome): I found no method so that the XmlReader can continue parsing a second XML message (at least not, if the second message has an XmlDeclaration). XmlTextReader.ResetState could do something similar, but for that I would have to assume the same encoding for all messages. Therefor I could not connect the XmlReader directly to the TcpStream. After closing the XmlReader, the buffer is not positioned at the readers last position. So it is not possible to close the reader and use a new one to continue with the next message. I guess the reason for this is, that the reader could not successfully seek on every possible input stream. When XmlReader throws an exception it can not be determined whether it happened because of an premature EOF or because of a non-wellformed XML. XmlReader.EOF is not set in case of an exception. As workaround I derived my own MemoryBuffer, which returns the very last byte as a single byte. This way I know that the XmlReader was really interested in the last byte and the following exception is likely due to a truncated message (this is kinda sloppy, in that it might not detect every non-wellformed message. However, after appending more bytes to the buffer, sooner or later the error will be detected. I could cast my XmlReader to the IXmlLineInfo interface, which gives access to the LineNumber and the LinePosition of the current node. So after reading the first message I remember these positions and use it to truncate the buffer. Here comes the really sloppy part, because I have to use the character encoding to get the byte position. I am sure you could find test cases for the code below where it breaks (e.g. internal elements with mixed encoding). But up to now it worked for all my tests. • c# Network Programming - HTTPWebRequest Scraping

  Hi, I am building a web scraping application. It should scrape a complex web site with concurrent HttpWebRequests from a single host to a single target web server. The application should run on Windows server 2008. One single HttpWebRequest for data could take from 1 minute to 4 minutes to complete (because of long running db operations) I should have at least 100 parallel requests to the target web server, but i have noticed that when i use more then 2-3 long-running requests i have big performance issues (request timeouts/hanging). How many concurrent requests can i have in this scenario from a single host to a single target web server? can i use Thread Pools in the application to run parallel HttpWebRequests to the server? will i have any issues with the default outbound HTTP connection/requests limits? what about Request timeouts when i reach outbound connection limits? what would be the best setup for my scenario? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

• Can I turn off context menu scrolling in VS2010?

  When I right-click in the middle of a code editor window in Visual Studio 2010 RTM, a context menu appears. This takes up about a fourth the height of the screen but doesn't show all options. Instead it scrolls up and down when you move the pointer to the top or bottom of the menu. If I click near the top or bottom of the screen, the menu is normal and doesn't scroll. Can I turn this behavior off? It's stupid. You can't even scroll using the mouse wheel. EDIT I reckon this might just be a bug - I've found a few.

• WinForms AcceptButton not working?

  Ok, this is bugging me, and I just can't figure out what is wrong... I have made two forms. First form just has a simple button on it, which opens the other as a dialog like so: using (Form2 f = new Form2()) { if (f.ShowDialog() != DialogResult.OK) MessageBox.Show("Not OK"); else MessageBox.Show("OK"); } The second, which is that Form2, has two buttons on it. All I have done is to set the forms AcceptButton to one, and CancelButton to the other. In my head this is all that should be needed to make this work. But when I run it, I click on the button which opens up Form2. I can now click on the one set as CancelButton, and I get the "Not OK" message box. But when I click on the one set as AcceptButton, nothing happens?
