• Cannot run Android "Camera Preview" sample

  The sample I'm referring to is: CameraPreview. The program simply force closes upon start up. I've also tried other camera demos that have the same problem. I'm trying to run the samples on my Nexus One and the emulator with the same problem on both. I'm not even sure if the emulator should be able to run them or not. • Can't clone gitosis-admin.git local from my snow leopard server running gitosis

  I've installed gitosis as described here: http://gist.github.com/264304 One of the things that I had to adjust was to give my git user permissions to use ssh (which I did trough server admin - access - ssh and added the 'git' user). When I ssh from my local machine (mac osx) as the git user, I get this response: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 bash: gitosis-serve: command not found Connection to 10.0.0.108 closed. Which I think is normal, because in Pro GIT the author says you should get something like this if you try ssh'ing to the server using your git user: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 fatal: unrecognized command 'gitosis-serve schacon@quaternion' Connection to gitserver closed. So far so good, I think? Now when I try to clone my gitosis-admin.git repository using this command: $git clone [email protected]:gitosis-admin.git I get this: Initialized empty Git repository in /Users/joggink/gitosis-admin/.git/ bash: gitosis-serve: command not found fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly So after doing some searching, I found an answer here on serverfault claiming I should use ssh:// as protocol for my git clone (which I thought is the default git protocol?) However, when I try: $git clone ssh://[email protected]:gitosis-admin.git This is the response: The authenticity of host ' (::1)' can't be established. • Problem connecting a 3Com 2952-Plus switch to a Cisco 3750 switch

  Connected a 3Com 2952-SFP Plus switch to a Cisco 3750 switch via fibre. There is a light on the 3Com end, but nothing at the Cisco end, and no traffic will flow. Have swapped SFP's, have swapped fibre cables, have used a different port on the Cisco, have even swapped the 3Com switch, but still no joy. When I connect a 3Com 2948 switch over fibre that works OK. Any ideas?

• VB6 Scheduled tasks on Windows Server 2008 Standard

  Hello, this is my first time using this forum. Here is my situation: We are having issues with specific tasks written in VB6 it would seem. I am not a developer, but I am told these tasks exe are written in VB6. The task is initiated by task scheduler, the process begins to run (you can view the task in task manager, but no resources are used, 00 CPU, 760 K RAM), but nothing occurs. In a normal operating situation, the task will use 25% CPU and up to 20 MB RAM. When the task fails to run, you can still end and start it via Task Scheduler, but nothing happens. If you run just the process via the exe, it runs fine. The problem just seems to be when it is initiated via Task Scheduler. And this is a random issue, which always disappears after a server reboot. All of these tasks are VB 6 applications on Windows Server 2008 Standard, some servers are SP1, some are SP2, but both versions experience the issue. The task has been configured to run with highest priviledges, and to run whether logged on or not. Setting compatibility mode on the exe to 2003 does not make a difference. Situation 1: 51 - ERROR - Program did not appear to complete, check server!! (Desc: Input past end of file) in this situation, the task is running in task scheduler and you can view the process in task manager. . In the log file, all that is logged is: 12/17/2009 03:16 Starting T2 Populator version - 1.0.12 You can just end the task via task scheduler and start it via task scheduler and away it goes Situation 2: 36 - ERROR - Program last ran on 16-Dec-2009 in this situation the task is running in Task Scheduler and you can view the process in task manager, but no resources are used, 00 CPU, 760 K RAM. Nothing is logged in the log file. You end the task via task scheduler, but you must manually run the exe for it to complete. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced issues with VB6 tasks, or any tasks for that matter, on Server 2008?

The appointment request is properly received to my mail box but the event is not automatically added to my calendar. I'm using Outlook 2007. The question is, where and when is it correct to remove hadler? Do I need to implement the IDisposable interface in the base class and RemoveHandler in Dispose?

• Event Handlers Not Getting Called? - wxWidgets

  Hello all, I'm working on a program for my C++ programming class, using wxWidgets. I'm having a huge problem in that my event handlers (I assume) are not getting called, because when I click on the button to trigger the event, nothing happens. My question is: Can you help me find the problem and explain why they would not be getting called? The event handlers OnAbout and OnQuit are working, just not OnCompute or OnClear. • Can I override task :environment in test_helper.rb to test rake tasks?

  I have a series of rake tasks in a Rakefile which I'd like to test as part of my specs etc. Each task is defined in the form: task :do_somthing => :environment do # Do something with the database here end Where the :environment task sets up an ActiveRecord/DataMapper database connection and classes. I'm not using this as part of Rails but I have a series of tests which I like to run as part of BDD. This snippet illustrates how I'm trying to test the rake tasks. def setup @rake = Rake::Application.new Rake.application = @rake load File.dirname(__FILE__) + '/../../tasks/do_something.rake' end should "import data" do @rake["do_something"].invoke assert something_in_the_database end So my request for help - is it possible to over-ride the :environment task in my test_helper.rb file so I my rake testing interacts with the my test database, rather than production? • Calling oracle stored procedure from Excel - VBA

  I have to execute an Oracle stored procedure from vba (Excel) with around 38 input parameters. The stored procedure will insert some values in the destination table once that is executed. When it is executed through VBA the number of fields which is inserted is less than when it is executed directly from the backend (oracle). For example it is creating around 17 fields of records while executing directly from the back end. (I have created a wrapper class in the back-end and passing the same parameter values in the back-end.). It is creating around 15 fields of records while executing from the excel VBA in the destination table. Kindly let me know what could be the possible reasons for this.

  I have been developing a Silverlight WCF RIA Services application dealing with mock financial transactions. To more efficiently send summary data to the client without going overboard with serialized entities I have created a summary class that isn’t in my EDM, and figured out how to serialize and send it over the wire to the SL client using DataContract() and DataMember(). Everything seemed to be working out great, until I tried to bind controls to a list inside my custom object. Does it have anything to do with the other list of Transaction entities being serialized as part of the EconomicsSummary class (TotalAccountHistory)? Do I need to decorate the EconomicsSummary class members a little more/differently? -Second, where are the peculiar values coming from on that extra entity? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 1: I did a little checking, it looks like that last entry is the first one in the TotalAccountHistory list. Do I need to do something with CollectionDataContract()? PRE-POSTING UPDATE 2: I fixed one bug in TotalAccountHistory, since the objects weren’t coming from the database their keys weren’t unique. So I set the keys on the Transaction entities inside TotalAccountHistory to be unique and guess what? Now, after deserialization RecentTransactions contains all its original items, plus every item in TotalAccountHistory. I’m pretty sure this has to do with the deserializer getting confused by two collections of the same type. But I don’t yet know how to resolve it…

• Windows 2008 RenderFarm Service: CreateProcessAsUser "Session 0 Isolation" and OpenGL

  Hello, I have a legacy Windows server service and (spawned) application that works fine in XP-64 and W2K3, but fails on W2K8. I believe it is because of the new "Session 0 isolation " feature. (Note: As a StackOverflow newbie I'm being limited to one link in this post, so you'll need to scroll to bottom to lookup the links for '' items)* Consequently, I'm looking for code samples/security settings mojo that let you create a new process from a windows service for Windows 2008 Server such that I can restore (and possibly surpass) the previous behavior. I need a solution that: Creates the new process in a non-zero session to get around session-0 isolation restrictions (no access to graphics hardware from session 0) - the official MS line on this is: Because Session 0 is no longer a user session, services that are running in Session 0 do not have access to the video driver. This means that any attempt that a service makes to render graphics fails. Querying the display resolution and color depth in Session 0 reports the correct results for the system up to a maximum of 1920x1200 at 32 bits per pixel. The new process gets a windows station/desktop (e.g. winsta0/default) that can be used to create windows DCs. I've found a solution (that launches OK in an interactive session) for this here: *(Starting an Interactive Client Process in C++ - 2) The windows DC, when used as the basis for an *(OpenGL DescribePixelFormat enumeration - 3), is able to find and use the hardware-accelerated format (on a system appropriately equipped with OpenGL hardware.) Note that our current solution works OK on XP-64 and W2K3, except if a terminal services session is running (VNC works fine.) A solution that also allowed the process to work (i.e. run with OpenGL hardware acceleration even when a terminal services session is open) would be fanastic, although not required. I'm stuck at item #1 currently, and although there are some similar postings that discuss this (like *(this -4), and *(this - 5) - they are not suitable solutions, as there is no guarantee of a user session logged in already to "take" a session id from, nor am I running from a LocalSystem account (I'm running from a domain account for the service, for which I can adjust the privileges of, within reason, although I'd prefer to not have to escalate priorities to include SeTcbPrivileges.) For instance - here's a stub that I think should work, but always returns an error 1314 on the SetTokenInformation call (even though the AdjustTokenPrivileges returned no errors) I've used some alternate strategies involving "LogonUser" as well (instead of opening the existing process token), but I can't seem to swap out the session id. I'm also dubious about using the WTSActiveConsoleSessionId in all cases (for instance, if no interactive user is logged in) - although a quick test of the service running with no sessions logged in seemed to return a reasonable session value (1). (Note that I'm logged into the W2K8 box via VNC, not RDC) So - a the questions: Is this approach valid, or are all service-initiated processes restricted to session 0 intentionally? Is there a better approach (short of "Launch on logon" and auto-logon for the servers?) Is there something wrong with this code, or a different way to create a process token where I can swap out the session id to indicate I want to spawn the process in a new session? I did try using LogonUser instead of OpenProcessToken, but that didn't work either. (I don't care if all spawned processes share the same non-zero session or not at this point.)   I'm usung the jQuery datepicker. In my "EndDate" textbox I'd like to use the date selected from the the "StartDate" textbox + 1. How do I do this? I tried this but didn't work. In my start date code I had... test = $(this).datepicker('getDate'); testm = new Date(test.getTime()); testm.setDate(testm.getDate() + 1); Then in my end date code I had... minDate: testm, but the end date still made all the days for the month available. • Errorprovider shows error on using windows close button(X)

  Hi guys, Is there any way to turn the damned error provider off when i try to close the form using the windows close button(X). • Event Handlers Not Getting Called? - wxWidgets & C++

  Hello all, I'm working on a program for my C++ programming class, using wxWidgets. I'm having a huge problem in that my event handlers (I assume) are not getting called, because when I click on the button to trigger the event, nothing happens. My question is: Can you help me find the problem and explain why they would not be getting called? The event handlers OnAbout and OnQuit are working, just not OnCompute or OnClear. I'm really frustrated as I can't figure this out.   So, right now I've got a number of columns the user can sort by (Name, County, Active) and that's easy but messy. Looks something like this... I've tired Func(Of stuff, boolean) (got something in c# that works nicely like that) but can't seem to get this one to do what I want. Ideas? What's the magic syntax?
