  • nTop RRD file architecture

    I have a gig of nTop RRD files and I would like to start graphing them with rrdtool (but not with nTop, since I'm hoping to do this with a separate backup of the database as workaround to the impossibility of limiting the RRD files by size), but I don't know how the files are structured. I've tried reading the RRD documentation from SourceForge and the nTop FAQ, but I'm not finding the information I need. Does anyone know of any documentation I should be looking at or how the files are structured? Here https://dl.dropbox.com/u/669437/file%20structure.png is a screenshot of the file structure. At first I thought it was organized by IP address (so the rrd files for address 1.1.2.3 would be stored in folder 1-1-2-3 or even the reverse order), but that doesn't seem to be the case. It isn't organized by MAC address either, although some hosts are saved that way. Any help would be appreciated.

I've already looked at the relevant StackOverflow articles like this one and many more and tried my hand at googling the solution but I dont know what I could be doing wrong. The only other thing that I'd like to validate is that I can send/receive e-mails using my username/password with the SMTP server I received from IT (my mail works properly) but I just followed the steps on testing an SMTP server here and everything looks fine http://support.microsoft.com/kb/153119 Anyone have any ideas as to why I'm getting this problem, or how to troubleshoot it further?

  • Correct way to treat iptables init failure?

    Hi, I'm initializing my iptables rules via /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/iptables, using iptables-restore. This works fine, but I'm a bit worried about what would happen, if that script failed for some reason (maybe the saved iptables file is corrupt or whatever). In case the script failed, I'd like to: Start up my network interfaces without any iptables rules Start up OpenSSH server But not any other services like web server, ... (and maybe stop running instances) Is there a good canonical way to do that? Going into a lower init stage? - I haven't done that in a long time, and I think a lot about init has changed in recent years (?) - which stage should I drop to, and would the OpenSSH server and my network interfaces still run?     I'm trying to set up a folder in my home directory that will be shared with another user but for some reason it is not working this is what I've done, I have tried two different ways using ACL's and chown/chgrp etc I set up a group called say: sharedgroup and added both my user (john) and fred to it so when I run groups john john wheel sharedgroup groups fred sharedgroup fred mkdir /home/john/shared vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (typed in some text saved it) chown -R :sharedgroup shared chmod -R o=-rwx shared ll drwxrwx--- 2 john sharedgroup 4096 Sep 9 21:14 shared ll shared -rw-rw-r-- 1 john sharedgroup 7 Sep 9 21:14 hello.txt (I also tried adding in the s permissions but that didn't help either) then when I log out of the server and log back in as fred and try these commands they fail vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (won't allow me to write opens a blank file) cd /home/john/shared -bash: cd: /home/john/cis: Permission Denied ls /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied ls -lad /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied id fred uid=500(fred) gid=502(sharedgroup) groups=502(sharedgroup),500(fred) context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t Any idea what I'm doing wrong??

    Within our corporate SharePoint 2007 site, there is a particular form library that contains 10 separate files. 9 of these are either Excel, Word, or PowerPoint files and one of these is an InfoPath 2007 form that serves as a report. After noticing an error within this InfoPath form, I saved this InfoPath form to my local directory and then, within the design mode of InfoPath, I modified this InfoPath form. What is the proper way to save this modified InfoPath form to its form library? Everything that I have tried results in nobody except myself having access to this modified InfoPath form. I can open this InfoPath form without error but when my coworkers try to open this InfoPath form on their machines, they receive this error: “The form cannot be opened because it requires the domain permission level and it currently has restricted permission. To fix this problem, open the form from the location it was published to."

    I have problem of accessing my website created using visual studio on my local pc. the pc using windows 7 with static ip address has been configured and i have added a hostname "192.168.0.1 hosts myweb.mylocal.com" on c:\windows\system32\driver\etc. on the IIS i have configured the binding myweb.mylocal.com with impersonation set enabled and windows authentication is enabled. the user login just keep prompting eventhough i have entered the correct username and password.

    My database has two entities; Company and Person. A Company can have many People, but a Person must have only one Company. The table structure looks as follows. COMPANY ---------- owner PK comp_id PK c_name PERSON ---------------- owner PK, FK1 personid PK comp_id FK1 p_fname p_sname It has occurred to me that I could remove PERSON.OWNER and derive it through the foreign key; however, I can't make this change without affecting legacy code. I have modeled these as JPA-annotated classes; @Entity @Table(name = "PERSON") @IdClass(PersonPK.class) public class Person implements Serializable { @Id private String owner; @Id private String personid; @ManyToOne @JoinColumns( {@JoinColumn(name = "owner", referencedColumnName = "OWNER", insertable = false, updatable = false), @JoinColumn(name = "comp_id", referencedColumnName = "COMP_ID", insertable = true, updatable = true)}) private Company company; private String p_fname; private String p_sname; ...and standard getters/setters... } @Entity @Table(name = "COMPANY") @IdClass(CompanyPK.class) public class Company implements Serializable { @Id private String owner; @Id private String comp_id; private String c_name; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "company", cascade=CascadeType.ALL) private List people; ...and standard getters/setters... } My PersonPK and CompanyPK classes are nothing special, they just serve as a struct holding owner and the ID field, and override hashCode and equals(o). So far so good. I come across a problem, however, when trying to deal with associations. It seems if I have an existing Company, and create a Person, and associate to the Person to the Company and persist the company, the association is not saved when the Person is inserted. For example, my main code looks like this: EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); em.getTransaction().begin(); CompanyPK companyPK = new CompanyPK(); companyPK.owner="USA"; companyPK.comp_id="1102F3"; Company company = em.find(Company.class, companyPK); Person person = new Person(); person.setOwner("USA"); person.setPersonid("5116628123"); //some number that doesn't exist yet person.setP_fname("Hannah"); person.setP_sname("Montana"); person.setCompany(company); em.persist(person); This completes without error; however in the database I find that the Person record was inserted with a null in the COMP_ID field. With EclipseLink debug logging set to FINE, the SQL query is shown as: INSERT INTO PERSON (PERSONID,OWNER,P_SNAME,P_FNAME) VALUES (?,?,?,?) bind = [5116628123,USA,Montana,Hannah,] I would have expected this to be saved, and the query to be equivalent to INSERT INTO PERSON (PERSONID,OWNER,COMP_ID,P_SNAME,P_FNAME) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?) bind = [5116628123,USA,1102F3,Montana,Hannah,] What gives? Is it incorrect to say updatable/insertable=true for one half of a composite key and =false for the other half? If I have updatable/insertable=true for both parts of the foreign key, then Eclipselink fails to startup saying that I can not use the column twice without having one set to readonly by specifying these options.

  • Postfix virtual_alias stealing emails from virutal_mailbox

    I am trying to setup a "catchall" address. In my virtual_mailbox table I have emails setup like so: select * from virtual_users; id | domain_id | password | email ----+-----------+---------------------------------------------- 3 | 1 | ***************** | [email protected] 4 | 1 | ***************** | [email protected] That works great on its own. When I try to add a virtual alias for the catchall: select * from virtual_aliases; id | domain_id | source | destination ----+-----------+-------------------+--------------------------- 1 | 1 | @domain.com | [email protected] Once I add that virtual_alias, all email is going to catchall and I can send any to [email protected]. Is there something I need to do to shift around the priority?   • Still getting duplicate token error after calling DuplicateTokenEx for impersonated token

    I'm trying to return a Sytem.IntPtr from a service call so that the client can use impersonation to call some code. My imersonation code works properly if not passing the token back from a WCF service. I'm not sure why this is not working. According to the MSDN documentation I read here I should be able to create a token valid for delegation and use across the context on remote systems.     Hi, I have been busy creating an app for Red5. Imagine what was my surprise when I tried to configure basic/digest authentication and I couldn't. What struck me as strange is that I have a running tomcat instance that works and authenticates correctly with the following xmls: web.xml (part of) <security-constraint> <web-resource-collection> <web-resource-name>A Protected Page</web-resource-name> <url-pattern>/stats.jsp</url-pattern> </web-resource-collection> <auth-constraint> <description/> <role-name>tomcat</role-name> </auth-constraint> </security-constraint> <login-config> <auth-method>DIGEST</auth-method> <realm-name>BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA</realm-name> </login-config> <security-role> <description/> <role-name>tomcat</role-name> </security-role> and a tomcat-users.xml in /conf that looks kinda like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <tomcat-users> <role rolename="tomcat"/> <user username="ide" password="bogus" roles="tomcat"/> </tomcat-users> The annoying thing is that configuration authenticates correctly when on tomcat's servlet container, but on the red5's modified one, it just keeps asking for authentication. Am I becoming mad or it should work like a charm? Red5 is version 0_9_1 The stats.jsp is accessible in both servlet containers, the only difference is that when you input the correct password and username in tomcat, you are logged in, and in red5 you are not, it just keeps asking you for the password. Any pointers? Am I missing something?
