    I'm looking for a tool that would count the number of files, the number of lines (with or without comments) and possibly other statistics for my project in PHP and JavaScript. Notes: I've already found SLOCCount which seems quite nice. It requires Cygwin. Yes, I can wrote a simple script for basic information but I'm looking for something more complex. Do you know about alternatives for Windows? Thanks!

We would like to use Coherence to scale out an ASP.NET application which does not have distributed caching. Alternatives would be memcached, etc. However, we are considering Coherence since we already have licensing/expertise in that area.

  • set windows PATH environment variable at runtime in Java

    I have a java program that fires off an executable using the Runtime.exec() method. I'm using the variant that takes in a set of command line params as one argument, and some environment variables as another argument. The environment variable I'm tryign to set is path, so i'm passing in "PATH=C:\some\path". This does not work. Is there some trick to this or any alternatives. I am stuck to Java 1.4 unfortunately.

  • Faster integer division when denominator is known?

    hi I am working on GPU device which has very high division integer latency, several hundred cycles. I am looking to optimize divisions. All divisions by denominator which is in a set { 1,3,6,10 }, however numerator is a runtime positive value, roughly 32000 or less. due to memory constraints, lookup table is not option. Can you think of alternatives? I have thought of computing float point inverses, and using those to multiply numerator. Thanks

    I'm looking for a minimalist template system for javascript, ala John Resig's Javascript Micro Templating. The smaller the better, and if it's jquery based even better. Recommendations? I tried John's micro-templating but ran into a few issues, wanted to see if there are more baked / better packaged solutions out there. [Update] I tried Resig's Micro Templating again and it's working well for me. Would still like to hear about other alternatives if there are any.

    are there any alternatives to Xpath ? need to locate and extract specific element's texts for web scraping project. xpath seem pretty limited against layout changes on web pages. slight shuffle, and xpath no longer works. also different browsers have different Xpaths as i discovered. Firefox automatically adds tbody after table, while IE doesn't and so on.

    I'm a Java programmer who is working on an iPhone application. I'd like it to use Push Notification services. I originally thought I could use Google App Engine to provide the payloads to Apple, but I see now that it won't be possible because App Engine doesn't support the low-level socket programming that is needed to communicate with Apple. Are there any alternatives to Google App Engine that let me use Java? In brief, I'm wondering if there is a free hosting platform that supports Java and Socket Programming

A few views cache the whole HttpResponse objects, therefore there might be a better alternative for returning the Memcached data other than going through Django.     I was wondering if anyone knows of rubyzip alternatives for Ruby, that can handle various formats in particular zip / rar / 7z? I know of libarchive, but it's not complete for my purposes ( it's a good gem thou). (To clarify, libarchive - won't work for me - cause I need to be able to run in on Windows. ( Yeah I know sucks to be me)) Right now I end up running system commands to the os, but I'd like something OS independent, and capable of handling those formats - reading and writing. Thank you
