• Why wouldn't a flex remoteobject work within a custom component?

  Please enlighten this flex noob. I have a remoteobject within my main.mxml. I can call a function on the service from an init() function on my main.mxml, and my java debugger triggers a breakpoint. When I move the remoteobject declaration and function call into a custom component (that is declared within main.mxml), the remote function on java-side no longer gets called, no breakpoints triggered, no errors, silence. How could this be? No spelling errors, or anything like that. mxml code: &ltmx:RemoteObject id="myService" destination="remoteService" endpoint="$(Application.application.home}/messagebroker/amf" &gt &lt/mx:RemoteObject%gt function call is just 'myService.getlist();' when I move it to a custom component, I import mx.core.Application; so the compiler doesn't yell

• Can anyone get this project to work? (EasyHook)

  Hi, i'm trying to 'load' the following project into visual studio 2010 but im getting errors about dynamic link libraries not being found. I have manually referenced them but it doesnt like them. The project is: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/DLL/EasyHook64.aspx 2nd link down (EasyHook_2.5_Beta_Source_Code), and the project im wishing to load is EasyHook_2.5_Beta_Source_Code\Examples\ProcessMonitor The two dlls plus 1 executable i need are found in the first link (EasyHook 2.5 beta binaries) and named EasyHook.dll, EasyHook32.dll and EasyHook32svc.exe I've been trying to do this all night but i wonder whether its because im using VS2010 and .NET 4.0?? I'd be so appreciative if someone could have a go themselves just to see if its my setup or they get errors to. The error i get is: Unable to load DLL 'EasyHook32.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

• Content-disposition:inline header won't show images inline?

  I'm trying to show an image inline on a page. I know when the browser can't display the content inline it will force a download anyway, but these are PNG and GIF images which display in the browser fine otherwise. In IE it doesn't force a download but it displays the image in ASCII. If I comment out the entire image case it FF and Chrome both display the ASCII but not the image. I thought setting the content type would allow FF and Chrome to show the actual image, and also allow the location to be used as an src. The javascript and css shows fine of course. Anyone got any ideas how I can make the images show properly? Thanks :)

• Confused as to how to validate spring mvc form, what are my options?

  Latest spring mvc, using freemarker. Hoping someone could tell me what my options are in terms of validating a form with spring mvc, and what the recommend way would be to do this. I have a form that doesn't map directly to a model, it has input fields that when posted, will be used to initialze 2 model objects which I will then need to validate, and if they pass I will save them. If they fail, I want to return back to the form, pre-fill the values with what the user entered and display the error messages. I have read here and there about 2 methods, once of which I have done and understand how it works: @RequestMapping(...., method = RequestMethod.POST) public ModelAndView myMethod(@Valid MyModel, BindingResult bindingResult) { ModelAndView mav = new ModelAndView("some/view"); mav.addObject("mymodel", myModel); if(bindingResult.hasErrors()) { return mav; } } Now this worked if my form mapped directly to the form, but in my situation I have: form fields that don't map to any specific model, they have a few properties from 2 models. before validation occurrs, I need to create the 2 models manually, set the values from the values from the form, and manually set some properties also: Call validate on both models (model1, model2), and append these error messages to the errors collection which I need to pass back to the same view page if things don't work. when the form posts, I have to do some database calls, and based on those results may need to add additional messages to the errors collection Can someone tell me how to do this sort of validation? • Is there "native" support for JSON in JDK6 Script Engine?

  I'm using JDK6the standard Scripting. I need to store and retrieve some JavaScript Objects that also contain Java Objects to JSON. I loaded the json2.js into the ScriptENgine and can use it fine without issue if the objects are all created in the Scrip Engine. The moment I try to use my own Java classes, I get some errors like "object does not support toJSON" errors. I did not find much about JSON in Java Scripting / Rhino context. Am I doing something totally wrong? What's the best way of achieving the requirement?

• Grails and PermGen issue with g:link and g:render

  I've been running grails for sometime without any issues but recently after an upgrade to Grails 1.1.1, I've encountered the dreaded PermGen errors. Prior to the upgrade, no such issue. The error seems to be happening when the <g:link> and <g:render> tags are used in a GSP although I'm not sure it's indicative that this is the issue but more of the fact that it ran out of space when these tags were being rendered. Typically, everyone who encounters PermGen errors recommend increasing your java environment options -- but what maybe the source of the issue? Is it a Grails 1.1/hibernate/spring problem? • Hardest javascript debugging problem ever

  We have an ASP.NET application and when running on client site they often get null reference Javascript errors. As with all these errors the information IE6 displays is less than helpful. But the problem is as soon as I install IE script debugger and try and debug a bit more the error becomes non-reproducible.When script debugger is not installed then the error occurs again. Are there any other tools that could be helpful for javascript debugging on client site. The error is also not produced with IE7 or Firefox.

• multiple partial views mvc 2

  Hello World! Hi guys, I have a master page with two partial viewson it both of which submit to the AccountController. When I click Submit on either of the partial views the following happens: If I declare the partial views like Html.BeginForm("PartialAction1","Account") it redirects to that partial view on clicking submit instead bringing back the default HomeContoller Index view with validation errors. If I declare the partial view forms as Html.BeginForm() then it returns to the default index view of the home controller. But it actually fires both partial view actions inside the AccountController and thus returns validation errors for both partial views simultaneously. What I want is version 2 above with only one action firing instead of two. Am I missing, hopefully, something very simple? I hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction. • Zend remove anchor text in url redirect

  I have a form that is using an anchor name as it's action so that when the form is submitted it is it goes straight back to the form (for example 'www.domain.com/page#contact-form). The idea is if there are any errors then it'll go straight to the form (that's near the bottom of the page) so you can see the errors and continue filling in the form. If the form is valid, I want it to redirect to another page (for example www.domain.com/another-page). The problem is that the redirect url still has the anchor text in the url (in the above example it is www.domain.com/another-page#contact-form). I am using $this->_helper->redirector->goToRouteAndExit(array(), 'another-page', true); to goto the another-page route. I have tried setting the url specifically but that doesn't fix it either. How do I redirect to another page and remove that anchor text from the url?

• CodeIgniter Project Giving 303/Compression Error

  Trying to setup a CodeIgniter based project for local development (LAMP stack), and once all the config file were updated (meaning I successfully had meaningful bootstrap errors for CodeIgniter), I get this error in my browsers: Chrome Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error. Firefox Content Encoding Error: The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Just using wget to fetch the file works fine, no errors and I get the content I'm expecting. Not sure if this is something with CI and the Server, or just something weird with the project. Has anyone seen this before?

  The following Java code is throwing a compiler error: if ( checkGameTitle(currGame) ) ArrayList<String> items = parseColumns( tRows.get(rowOffset+1), currGame, time, method ); checkGameTitle is a public static function, returning a boolean. The errors are all of the type "cannot find symbol" with the symbols being variable ArrayList, variable String and variable items. However, if I add {curly braces} then the code compiles with no errors. Why might this be? Is there some ambiguity on the if clause without them?

  Hi I've been trying to integrate reCaptcha with my application built on Spring framework, but I am getting this error: org.springframework.web.bind.MissingServletRequestParameterException: Required String parameter 'recaptcha_challenge_field' is not present Could someone help me understand that why am I getting this error. I've got both recaptcha_challenge_field and recaptcha_response_field parameters bound to the User domain object. Could anybody help me understand what am I missing?   i am trying to use GLM to load a .obj object in my Objective-C Program (Xcode 4.4 Mac Os X). I have added the glm folder to my project. i try to import it using #import "glm/glm.hpp", but the program doesn't build. some of the errors are the following: (this errors are produced in the GLM files) namespace glm{ //Unknown type name 'namespace' namespace detail { ..... it doesn't find the cstdlib, cmath, and other libraries.... This happens because my program is in Objective-c and the GLM doesn't work with this language??? How can i resolve this problem??? Thanks for your help.

• How to access application.xml file of an EAR deployed to IBM WebSphere 6.1

  I am deploying an EAR file to the IBM WebSpehre server 6.1 - I want to be able to access the EAR application name which is stored in the deployment file under 'display-name'. Looking through stack overflow posts on related subjects, I've been able to gather that this is possible via the Java MBean API - or IBM's WAS API - Problem is I cannot find a place where these API lists are summarized, i.e. cannot figure out which one to begin looking at. I could hardcode the WAS install location and find the file by looking in the 'installedApps' directory, but this is not dynamic. Does anyone have any experience working with these APIs? Any other way to dynamically find the deployed EAR's display name? EDIT - I should add that the reason I would like this information is to dynamically load our properties files - that are named by the following convention "EARAppName.properties" - so you see there IS a reasonable 'rationale' behind desiring this information in my application EDIT 2 - I should also note that this app will always be deployed on a WAS - but in the case that it isnt, a generic non-proprietary solution would be preferred, but not necessary at this moment. EDIT 3 - What I want to accomplish: Is there a way to dynamically find the deployed EAR's display name from within the application code?

• tabs on web page and seo

  I know there is a lot of js plugins to do "tabs", but also i can do it my self. Just have some elements with display:none and when you click some other element display changes to block, or something like that. Now, i have a one site i am developing, where i am giving specific users(all within one usergroup) access to edit only one page which i have created. That part is done. Now i have a request to give those users ability to edit 2 more sub pages, but since its all gonna be the same, like text with some pictures, i was thinking to put 3 textarea's so they will have 1 page where they can edit content of all those 3 pages. What i also thought was to only have one page and on it to have 3 tabs. Each tab for each possible page. When i started thinking about that the only concern was seo. How does seo works regarding elements with display:none? What jquery tabs plugin do you recommend that has the ability to access tabs via id of the element in url? I was looking at jquery ui demo but there when you get the url of one of those tabs and try to open it in new window, that tab is not opened. • Scheme - Memory System

  I am trying to make a memory system where you input something in a slot of memory. So what I am doing is making an Alist and the car of the pairs is the memory location and the cdr is the val. I need the program to understand two messages, Read and Write. Read just displaying the memory location selected and the val that is assigned to that location and write changes the val of the location or address. How do I make my code so it reads the location you want it to and write to the location you want it to? Feel free to test this yourself. Any help would be much appreciated. • Jquery UI Datepicker not displaying

  UPDATE I have reverted back to Jquery 1.3.2 and everything is working, not sure what the problem is/was as I have not changed anything else apart of the jquery and ui library versions. UPDATE END I having an issue with the JQuery UI datepicker. The datepicker is being attached to a class and that part is working but the datepicker is not being displayed. Here is the datepicker code I am using and the inline style that is being generated when I click in the input box that has the class ".datepicker". $('.datepicker').datepicker({dateFormat:'dd/mm/yy'}); display:none; left:418px; position:absolute; top:296px; z-index:1; If I change the display:none to display:block the datepicker works fine except it dosen't close when I select a date.
