• Internet Explorer stores working data under %TEMP% instead of normal locations

  Internet Explorer normally stores its working data in various special locations. For example: Cookies - %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies History - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\History Cache - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files However, for some reason, Internet Explorer occasionally stops using the normal locations and instead creates new folders under %TEMP% and/or %TEMP%\Low for this data. For example: Cookies - %TEMP%\Cookies %TEMP%\Low\Cookies History - %TEMP%\History %TEMP%\Low\History Cache - %TEMP%\Temporary Internet Files %TEMP%\Low\Temporary Internet Files Why does Internet Explorer do this, and how can make it use the normal locations again?

We covered an introduction to MVC then went on to discuss new features in MVC2. I enjoyed the good dialogue among the group as we discussed how MVC can fit side-by-side with an existing WebForms paradigm and how MVC Support for TDD can dramatically shift Architecture practices as we know them. • Mismanaged Session Cookie Issue Fixed for EBS in JRE 1.6.0_23

  At last:  some good news for those of you affected by the mismanaged session cookie issue in E-Business Suite environments.  This issue is resolved by the latest Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0_23 (a.k.a. JRE 6u23, internal version 1.6.0_23-b05).See the 1.6.0_23 Update Release Notes for details about what has changed in this release.  This release is available for download from the usual Sun channels and through the 'Java Automatic Update' mechanism.This JRE release has been certified with both Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12.  We recommend this release for all E-Business Suite users.

  I am trying make an uninstall app which removes an application X on a regular basis. The starting point to access applications installed in a Windows machine is through retrieving them from a WMI Class called Win32_Product. But when I run the basic command like this, I get the below error. I have searched technet and SO, but either their workarounds did not work for me or were too technical in detail which did not make sense to me. Please help. • BIP Enterprise Patches

  Got some input from the support team yesterday BIP patching. I dont have any control over the patches but have a voice to get information out there. Just to clarify for you all, the recent 'rollup' patch, 9546699 that I blogged a while back supersedes all other patches for the standalone release. If you have an issue and log an SR, please ensure you have applied 9546699 and re-checked the issue. There are so many fixes and enhancements in that patch that your issue may be fixed or addressed. If you are a new customer and download the latest release, 10.1.3.4.1 from oracle.com. Please get onto the support site and get 9546699 applied straight away.   If you are developing MS MPI applications with Visual Studio 2010, you are probably tired of following some tedious steps for every new C++ project that you create, similar to the following:1. In Solution Explorer, right-click YourProjectName, then click Properties to open the Property Pages dialog box.2. Expand Configuration Properties and then under VC++ Directories place the cursor at the beginning of the list that appears in the Include Directories text box and then specify the location of the MS MPI C header files, followed by a semicolon, e.g.C:\Program Files\Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 SDK\Include;3. Still under Configuration Properties and under VC++ Directories place the cursor at the beginning of the list that appears in the Library Directories text box and then specify the location of the Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 SDK library file, followed by a semicolon, e.g.if you want to build/debug 32bit application:C:\Program Files\Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 SDK\Lib\i386;if you want to build/debug 64bit application:C:\Program Files\Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 SDK\Lib\amd64;4. • PlanetQuest and the start of a new project!

  At the Planet Quest http://planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov/ web site there is an interesting page on the number of planets detected around other stars. There is a link to a page at http://planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov/widget.cfm for an applet to poll for this information. I downloaded the applet but had no wish to install it. Instead I viewed it in Notepad++ and found that it contacted http://planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov/atlas/xml/planetstats.cfm to get data on the latest discovery. I have amedned the CommonData project and have wrote a class in that to poll for the information. I have amended the CommonData project and have wrote a class in that to poll for the information.  That class and its unit test will form the basis for a new project.

• Why do I need to set up Autologon values in registry twice in before it works and can I fix this?

  Background: As part an automated testing suite I am building, I need to set up Autologon on my virtual machines 'on demand'. By on demand, I mean that I don't want to necessarily pre-configure my VM or any snapshot to have Autologon set up already, for security reasons and also a huge business case. My solution so far: I'm copying a script to the guest machine and then using Sysinternals PsExec to execute it. The script is: reg add "hklm\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /f /v DefaultUserName /t REG_SZ /d myusername reg add "hklm\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /f /v DefaultPassword /t REG_SZ /d myfakepassword reg add "hklm\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /f /v DefaultDomainName /t REG_SZ /d mydomain reg add "hklm\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /f /v ForceAutoLogon /t REG_SZ /d 1 reg add "hklm\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /f /v AutoAdminLogon /t REG_SZ /d 1 reg add "hklm\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\AutoLogonChecked" /f /ve /d 1 Note: I don't believe AutoLogonChecked is required for machines post Windows 2000 but I'm doing it just in case for now. Maybe ForceAutoLogon isn't either, not sure yet. The Problem: I see PsExec executes this properly and all the values are in the registry, however when I restart the machine, the user isn't automatically logged on...When I run this a second time then restart the machine, the user is finally logged on. A diff between the registry states shows that the first time I run this, it is missing both the "1" for AutoAdminLogon, and also the DefaultPassword key. The second time I execute it, these values are correctly intact as I intended. So, what is going on here? Is this expected? This post claims in the end that it really all just works (the problem was that a logoff script was setting off the values). Doesn't seem to work for me however. Note this seems unique to Windows 7, does not occur in Windows XP Also note that you don't need PsExec to recreate the issue - just modify the registry yourself EDIT/update: Login interactively and run script (so, not executing it remotely), logging off automatically logs me back in (so, it works) remotely execute the script in guest when I'm interactively logged in, logging off automatically logs me back in (so, it works) remotely execute the script in guest when with non-interactive session if I log in afterwards (so, interactive now) then back off, it logs me back in (so, it then works) EDIT/update 2: This only occurs for Win7x86, Win7x64, Win8x64. This does not occur for Windows XP
