• UIDatePicker date method is picking wrong date: iPhone Dev

  Hi, I am getting very strange behaviour on UIDatePicker. I have a view with date picker declared in .h file as IBOutlet UIDatePicker *datePicker; with property nonatomic and retain. datePicker is properly linked in IB file. In the code I am setting the minimum, maximum, initial date and action to call for UICOntrolEventValueChanged using following code If (!currentDate) { initialDate = [NSDate date]; } else { initialDate = currentdate; } [datePicker setMinimumDate:[NSDate date]]; [datePicker setMaximumDate:[[NSDate date] addTimeInterval:5 * 365.25 * 24 * 60 * 60]]; // to get upto 5 years [datePicker setDate:initialDate animated:YES]; [datePicker addTarget:self action:@selector(getDatePickerValue:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged]; In getDatePickerValue, I get the new date using datePicker.date. When the view is closed (using a done button), I get the current value of the date using datePicker.date. Now if the view is called with no 'currentDate', the picker returns 'todays date'. This is what happens the 'first' time my pickerView is called. Each subsequent call to the view, with no 'current date' gives me a different and later date from today. So, first time I get today's date say 9 Jun 2010 second time datePicker.date returns 10 Jun 2010 third time 11 Jun 2010 and so on. Though its not always incremental, but mostly it is. I have put NSLogs, and verified the initial date is set correctly. The problem is only on the device (on OS 3.0), the issue is not replicated on simulator. I can't find what I have done wrong. I hope somebody else has come across similar problem and can help me resolve this.

  I run a specialized news site and am trying to apply a little bit of SEO sauce to it. One of the most important things I hear is to avoid duplication of content. I've covered all the basics but I'm stuck with ordering of content. As an example, the archive of the site is orderable by date, views, and rating. Since we don't have that many news items, an archive page for a particular day has usually only a couple of items, so the following URLs all have the same content, albeit in different ordering: /news/archive/2010/05/16/ /news/archive/2010/05/16/?o=views /news/archive/2010/05/16/?o=rating Do search machines penalize this particular kind of duplication of content? And if yes, what's the best way to avoid said penalty? <link rel="canonical" />? Tell Google & Co. to ingore the o parameter? Marking the ordering links with nofollow? Only allow the indexation of the date-ordered archive sites through robots.txt (not sure if this is even possible)?

• git rebase without changing commit timestamps

  Would it make sense to perform git rebase while preserving the commit timestamps? I believe a consequence would be that the new branch will not necessarily have commit dates chronologically. Is that theoretically possible at all? (e.g. using plumbing commands; just curious here) If it is theoretically possible, then is it possible in practice with rebase, not to change the timestamps? For example, assume I have the following tree: master <jun 2010> | : : : oldbranch <feb 1984> : / oldcommit <jan 1984> Now, if I rebase oldbranch on master, the date of the commit changes from feb 1984 to jun 2010. Is it possible to change that behaviour so that the commit timestamp is not changed? In the end I would thus obtain: oldbranch <feb 1984> / master <jun 2010> | : Would that make sense at all? Is it even allowed in git to have a history where an old commit has a more recent commit as a parent? Edit A crucial question of Von C helped me understand what is going on: when your rebase, the committer's timestamp changes, but not the author's timestamp, which suddenly all makes sense. So my question was actually not precise enough. The answer is that rebase actually doesn't change the author's timestamps (you don't need to do anything for that), which suits me perfectly.

• Javascript array of dates - not iterating properly (jquery ui datepicker)

  Hi I have some code which builds an array of date ranges. I then call a function, passing it a date, and compare that date with dates in the array. I'm doing it this way because the dates are stored in a cms, and I'm manipulating the JqueryUI datepicker. Unfortunately my code only checks the first date range in the array - and I can't figure out why! I think it's probably something simple (/stupid!) - if anyone can shed some light on it I'd be extremely grateful! • PHPMyAdmin - Error 500

  Have scoured the board but can't seem to find anything that's helped yet. If I go to http://localhost/ it's fine, if I go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin I get an 'Error 500: Internal Server Error' There doesn't seem to be anything that'll show up in the log files either. I've tried the RewriteLog as mentioned in PHPMyAdmin 500 Internal Server Error - But that doesn't really seem to help either, nothing gets written to it when I've got: # Logfiles ErrorLog /home/www/beta.**.com/logs/error.log CustomLog /home/www/beta.**.com/logs/access.log combined RewriteLog /home/www/beta.**.com/logs/rewrite.log RewriteLogLevel 9 I've tried uninstalling the package and re-installing it, but that's not helped either. Anyone got any other suggestions? I'm running Debian and Apache 2.

It need to return as error message back to php. The stored procedure should return as abc,def,xyz are duplicate. I tried something like this. This will not work it has more than 1 set of duplicate records.   I have a multidimensional array, and I would have multiple arrays within it. Some of those arrays contain multiple arrays within them as well, and I would like to count how many arrays are within the second array(the date). So I want to know the url to which the previous url redirected. I know that when a url redirects to other url, the server sends an intermediate response containing a header field that tells the url which it is going to redirect but I am not receiving that intermediate response through the url.openConnection(); method.

• Can't serve HTML5 video through PHP on Safari/Mac (5.0)

  I'm encountering a strange bug in Safari where, when I serve MP4 video through PHP (to obfuscate the file beneath the document root with a token-based authentication system), Safari for some reason fires the <video>'s onerror event, and the video never loads (I can't get any useful information out of the event object sent to onerror — everything is undefined). When I access the PHP script directly (i.e., the video is not embedded in a page), the video controls appear momentarily before flashing to a QuickTime question mark. When I access the MP4 file directly, it works as expected. What's bizarre is that the embedded video works perfectly in the latest version of Chrome for Mac. EDIT: Also, when I change the content disposition to "attachment", Safari will download the MP4 file just fine.

• Parsing localized date strings in PHP

  Hi, I have some code (it's part of a wordpress plugin) which takes a text string, and the format specifier given to date(), and attempts to parse it into an array containing hour, minute, second, day, month, year. However, recently someone gave me 24 ??????, 2010. This is Russian for November 24, 2010 [the date format was j F, Y], and it is parsed as year = 2010, month = null, day = 24. Are there any functions that I can use that know how to translate both November and ?????? into 11? EDIT: Running print_r(setlocale(LC_ALL, 0)); returns C. Switching back to strptime() seems to fix the problem, but the docs warn: Internally, this function calls the strptime() function provided by the system's C library. This function can exhibit noticeably different behaviour across different operating systems. The use of date_parse_from_format(), which does not suffer from these issues, is recommended on PHP 5.3.0 and later. Is date_parse_from_format() the correct API, and if so, how do I get it to recognize the language?

  With all the news and focus on the new features coming in Silverlight 5 I thought I’d take a few minutes to remind folks about the work that Microsoft has done on LightSwitch since the applications created by LightSwitch are Silverlight applications. LightSwitch makes it easier for non-coders to build business applications and easier for coders to maintain them. For those not familiar with LightSwitch, it is a new tool that provides a easier and quicker way for coder and non-coder types alike to create line-of-business applications for the desktop, the web, and the cloud. The target audience for this tool are those power-user types who create Access applications for their organization. While those Access applications fill an immediate need, they typically aren’t very scalable, extendable and/or maintainable by the development staff of the organization. LightSwitch creates applications based on technologies built into Visual Studio thus making it easier for corporate developers to extend and maintain them. LightSwitch is currently in beta but it will ultimately become a new addition to the Visual Studio line of products. • SKYPE 4.1 Ubuntu 12.04 - Webcam's Image Upside Down and with Zoom

  I'm trying do my notebook's webcam works on Skype 4.1, but I am not having success. The problem is that the webcam's image appears upside down and with zoom. This problem don't happen on Skype Version 2.1 (Beta). On Skype 2.1 (Beta) my webcam works perfectly. However, on Skype 4.1 the webcam's image is upside down and with zoom. I managed to solve only the upside down problem with the following commands: $ export LIBV4LCONTROL_FLAGS=3 $ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype After these commands the webcam's image become normal, but the image is still zoomed. I could not solve the zoom problem. To work around this I'm obligated to use the both versions (2.1 (beta) and 4.1). Does anyone know a way to make the image from my webcam stay perfectly normal? These are the information about my webcam: Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0c45:62c0 Microdia Sonix USB 2.0 Camera It uses the driver "uvcvideo". And I'm using the Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits. Thank you very much!
