  • Property trigger in XAML for IsMouseOver fails to set Border.Background

    - by Mal Ross
    I'm currently trying to create a ControlTemplate for the Button class in WPF, replacing the usual visual tree with something that makes the button look similar to the little (X) close icon on Google Chrome's tabs. I decided to use a Path object in XAML to achieve the effect. Using a property trigger, the control responds to a change in the IsMouseOver property by setting the icon's red background. Here's the XAML from a test app: <Window x:Class="Widgets.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Window.Resources> <Style x:Key="borderStyle" TargetType="Border"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background"> <Setter.Value> <SolidColorBrush Color="#CC0000"/> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> <ControlTemplate x:Key="closeButtonTemplate" TargetType="Button"> <Border Width="12" Height="12" CornerRadius="6" BorderBrush="#AAAAAA" Background="Transparent" Style="{StaticResource borderStyle}" ToolTip="Close"> <Viewbox Margin="2.75"> <Path Data="M 0,0 L 10,10 M 0,10 L 10,0" Stroke="{Binding BorderBrush, RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType=Border, AncestorLevel=1}}" StrokeThickness="1.8"/> </Viewbox> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Window.Resources> <Grid Background="White"> <Button Template="{StaticResource closeButtonTemplate}"/> </Grid> </Window> Note that the circular background is always there - it's just transparent when the mouse isn't over it. The problem with this is that the trigger just isn't working. Nothing changes in the button's appearance. However, if I remove the Background="Transparent" value from the Border object in the ControlTemplate, the trigger does work (albeit only when over the 'X'). I really can't explain this. Setters for any other properties placed in the borderStyle resource work fine, but the Background setter fails as soon as the default background is specified in the ControlTemplate. Any ideas why it's happening and how I can fix it? I know I could easily replace this code with, for example, a .PNG-based image, but I want to understand why the current implementation isn't working. Thanks! :)

  • Regular expression Not working properly n case of multiple trailing ]]]]

    - by ronan
    I have the requirement that in a textbox a user can jump to the next word enclosed in [] on a tab out for example Hi [this] is [an] example. Testing [this] So when my cursor is at Hi and I do a tab out , the characters enclosed in the [this] are highlighted and when I again do a tabl out th next characters enclosed in following [an] are highlighted. This works fine Now the requirement is whatever the text including the special chars between [] needs to be highlighted case 1: when I have trailing ]]], it only highlights leading [[[ and ignores ]]]] e.g case 2: In case of multiple trailing ] e.e [this]]]] is [test], ideally one a single tabl out from this , it should go to next text enclosed in [] but a user has to tab out 4 times one tab per training ] to go to next [text] strong text The code is $(document).ready(function() { $('textarea').highlightTextarea({ color : '#0475D1', words : [ "/(\[.*?\])/g" ], textColor : '#000000' }); $('textarea').live('keydown', function(e) { var keyCode = e.keyCode || e.which; if (keyCode == 9) { var currentIndex = getCaret($(this).get(0)) selectText($(this), currentIndex); return false; } }); }); function selectText(element, currentIndex) { var rSearchTerm = new RegExp(/(\[.*?\])/); var ind = element.val().substr(currentIndex).search(rSearchTerm) currentIndex = (ind == -1 ? 0 : currentIndex); ind = (ind == -1 ? element.val().search(rSearchTerm) : ind); currentIndex = (ind == -1 ? 0 : currentIndex); var lasInd = (element.val().substr(currentIndex).search(rSearchTerm) == -1 ? 0 : element.val().substr(currentIndex).indexOf(']')); var input = element.get(0); if (input.setSelectionRange) { input.focus(); input.setSelectionRange(ind + currentIndex, lasInd + 1 + currentIndex); } else if (input.createTextRange) { var range = input.createTextRange(); range.collapse(true); range.moveEnd('character', lasInd + 1 + currentIndex); range.moveStart('character', ind + currentIndex); range.select(); } } function getCaret(el) { if (el.selectionEnd) { return el.selectionEnd; } else if (document.selection) { el.focus(); var r = document.selection.createRange(); if (r == null) { return 0; } var re = el.createTextRange(), rc = re.duplicate(); re.moveToBookmark(r.getBookmark()); rc.setEndPoint('EndToStart', re); return rc.text.length; } return 0; } Please let me know to handle two above cases

  • refactoring this function in Java

    - by Joel
    Hi folks, I'm learning Java, and I know one of the big complaints about newbie programmers is that we make really long and involved methods that should be broken into several. Well here is one I wrote and is a perfect example. :-D. public void buildBall(){ /* sets the x and y value for the center of the canvas */ double i = ((getWidth() / 2)); double j = ((getHeight() / 2)); /* randomizes the start speed of the ball */ vy = 3.0; vx = rgen.nextDouble(1.0, 3.0); if (rgen.nextBoolean(.05)) vx = -vx; /* creates the ball */ GOval ball = new GOval(i,j,(2 *BALL_RADIUS),(2 * BALL_RADIUS)); ball.setFilled(true); ball.setFillColor(Color.RED); add(ball); /* animates the ball */ while(true){ i = (i + (vx* 2)); j = (j + (vy* 2)); if (i > APPLICATION_WIDTH-(2 * BALL_RADIUS)){ vx = -vx; } if (j > APPLICATION_HEIGHT-(2 * BALL_RADIUS)){ vy = -vy; } if (i < 0){ vx = -vx; } if (j < 0){ vy = -vy; } ball.move(vx + vx, vy + vy); pause(10); /* checks the edges of the ball to see if it hits an object */ colider = getElementAt(i, j); if (colider == null){ colider = getElementAt(i + (2*BALL_RADIUS), j); } if (colider == null){ colider = getElementAt(i + (2*BALL_RADIUS), j + (2*BALL_RADIUS)); } if (colider == null){ colider = getElementAt(i, j + (2*BALL_RADIUS)); } /* If the ball hits an object it reverses direction */ if (colider != null){ vy = -vy; /* removes bricks when hit but not the paddle */ if (j < (getHeight() -(PADDLE_Y_OFFSET + PADDLE_HEIGHT))){ remove(colider); } } } You can see from the title of the method that I started with good intentions of "building the ball". There are a few issues I ran up against: The problem is that then I needed to move the ball, so I created that while loop. I don't see any other way to do that other than just keep it "true", so that means any other code I create below this loop won't happen. I didn't make the while loop a different function because I was using those variables i and j. So I don't see how I can refactor beyond this loop. So my main question is: How would I pass the values of i and j to a new method: "animateBall" and how would I use ball.move(vx + vx, vy + vy); in that new method if ball has been declared in the buildBall method? I understand this is probably a simple thing of better understanding variable scope and passing arguments, but I'm not quite there yet...

  • Javascript auto calculating with (+) and (-)

    - by Josh
    I need some help finding the error in my javascript calculation. I need to calculate the sum of my input boxes automatically and have my user be able to edit the calculation using + or - buttons. The code I have already does the calculation automatically if you manually enter the numbers, but pressing the + or - does not change the calculation. Here is the code: <html> <head> <script language="javascript"> function Calc(className){ var elements = document.getElementsByClassName(className); var total = 0; for(var i = 0; i < elements.length; ++i){ total += parseInt(elements[i].value); } document.form0.total.value = total; } function addone(field) { field.value = Number(field.value) + 1; } function subtractone(field) { field.value = Number(field.value) - 1; } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form0" id="form0"> 1: <input type="text" name="box1" id="box1" class="add" value="0" onKeyUp="Calc('add')" onChange="updatesum()" onClick="this.focus();this.select();" /> <input type="button" value=" + " onclick="addone(box1);"> <input type="button" value=" - " onclick="subtractone(box1);"> <br /> 2: <input type="text" name="box2" id="box2" class="add" value="0" onKeyUp="Calc('add')" onClick="this.focus();this.select();" /> <input type="button" value=" + " onclick="addone(box2);"> <input type="button" value=" - " onclick="subtractone(box2);"> <br /> 3: <input type="text" name="box3" id="box3" class="add" value="0" onKeyUp="Calc('add')" onClick="this.focus();this.select();" /> <input type="button" value=" + " onclick="addone(box3);"> <input type="button" value=" - " onclick="subtractone(box3);"> <br /> <br /> Total: <input readonly style="border:0px; font-size:14; color:red;" id="total" name="total"> </form> </body></html> Im sure the issue must be small, I just cant put my finger on it.

  • Objective-C: iPad Crash When Screen Shot Button Clicked

    - by SeongHo
    OK, i am making a Coloring app and it has a "Save" button that will take the screen shot of the view where the drawing is. I have 6 images to color. In the intro page there 6 buttons, each will link you to a particular coloring page. All are working well including the "Save" button except for one. All coloring views has the same contents and functions but in one image, it crashes the iPad whenever i clicked the "Save" button. Here's some of my codes: On Button Click: [self saveScreenshotToPhotosAlbum]; camFlash = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768)]; [camFlash setBackgroundColor:[UIColor whiteColor]]; [camFlash setAlpha:0.0]; [cbHolder addSubview:camFlash]; [cbHolder bringSubviewToFront:camFlash]; [UIView beginAnimations:@"Flash-On" context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.2]; [UIView setAnimationRepeatAutoreverses:NO]; [camFlash setAlpha:1.0]; [UIView commitAnimations]; NSString *soundPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"flash" ofType:@"wav"]; AVAudioPlayer *flashSFX = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:soundPath] error:NULL]; flashSFX.volume = 0.5; flashSFX.numberOfLoops = 0; self->camFlashSFX = flashSFX; if ([flashSFX currentTime] != 0) [flashSFX setCurrentTime:0]; [flashSFX play]; [self performSelector:@selector(removeFlash) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.2]; Remove Flash: - (void) removeFlash { [camFlash removeFromSuperview]; } For the screenshot: - (UIImage*)captureView { UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(CGSizeMake(1024, 768)); CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); [cbHolder.layer renderInContext:context]; UIImage *img = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return img; } - (void)saveScreenshotToPhotosAlbum { UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum([self captureView], nil, nil, nil); } This one is for the button that will show the coloring page: uc4 = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"tpUncolored1.png"]]; [uc4 setUserInteractionEnabled:YES]; [uc4 setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768)]; [cbHolder addSubview:uc4]; clrd4 = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"tpColored1.png"]]; [clrd4 setUserInteractionEnabled:YES]; [clrd4 setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768)]; [cbHolder addSubview:clrd4]; [UIView beginAnimations:@"fabe-out" context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.5]; [clrd4 setAlpha:0.0]; [UIView commitAnimations]; [self performSelector:@selector(cb4) withObject:nil afterDelay:1.5];

  • Optimizing GDI+ drawing?

    - by user146780
    I'm using C++ and GDI+ I'm going to be making a vector drawing application and want to use GDI+ for the drawing. I'v created a simple test to get familiar with it: case WM_PAINT: GetCursorPos(&mouse); GetClientRect(hWnd,&rct); hdc = BeginPaint(hWnd, &ps); MemDC = CreateCompatibleDC(hdc); bmp = CreateCompatibleBitmap(hdc, 600, 600); SelectObject(MemDC,bmp); g = new Graphics(MemDC); for(int i = 0; i < 1; ++i) { SolidBrush sb(Color(255,255,255)); g->FillRectangle(&sb,rct.top,rct.left,rct.right,rct.bottom); } for(int i = 0; i < 250; ++i) { pts[0].X = 0; pts[0].Y = 0; pts[1].X = 10 + mouse.x * i; pts[1].Y = 0 + mouse.y * i; pts[2].X = 10 * i + mouse.x; pts[2].Y = 10 + mouse.y * i; pts[3].X = 0 + mouse.x; pts[3].Y = (rand() % 600) + mouse.y; Point p1, p2; p1.X = 0; p1.Y = 0; p2.X = 300; p2.Y = 300; g->FillPolygon(&b,pts,4); } BitBlt(hdc,0,0,900,900,MemDC,0,0,SRCCOPY); EndPaint(hWnd, &ps); DeleteObject(bmp); g->ReleaseHDC(MemDC); DeleteDC(MemDC); delete g; break; I'm wondering if I'm doing it right, or if I have areas killing the cpu. Because right now it takes ~ 1sec to render this and I want to be able to have it redraw itself very quickly. Thanks In a real situation would it be better just to figure out the portion of the screen to redraw and only redraw the elements withing bounds of this?

  • java nested for() loop throws ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

    - by Mike
    I'm working through a JPanel exercise in a Java book. I'm tasked with creating a 5x4 grid using GridLayout. When I loop through the container to add panels and buttons, the first add() throws the OOB exception. What am I doing wrong? package mineField; import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*; @SuppressWarnings("serial") public class MineField extends JFrame { private final int WIDTH = 250; private final int HEIGHT = 120; private final int MAX_ROWS = 5; private final int MAX_COLUMNS = 4; public MineField() { super("Minefield"); setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); Container mineFieldGrid = getContentPane(); mineFieldGrid.setLayout(new GridLayout(MAX_ROWS, MAX_COLUMNS)); // loop through arrays, add panels, then add buttons to panels. for (int i = 0; i < MAX_ROWS; i++) { JPanel[] rows = new JPanel[i]; mineFieldGrid.add(rows[i], rows[i].getName()); rows[i].setBackground(Color.blue); for (int j = 0; j < MAX_COLUMNS; j++) { JButton[] buttons = new JButton[i]; rows[i].add(buttons[j], buttons[j].getName()); } } mineFieldGrid.setSize(WIDTH, HEIGHT); mineFieldGrid.setVisible(true); } public int setRandomBomb(Container con) { int bombID; bombID = (int) (Math.random() * con.getComponentCount()); return bombID; } /** * @param args */ public static void main(String[] args) { //int randomBomb; //JButton bombLocation; MineField minePanel = new MineField(); //minePanel[randomBomb] = minePanel.setRandomBomb(minePanel); } } I'm sure I'm over-engineering a simple nested for loop. Since I'm new to Java, please be kind. I'm sure I'll return the favor some day.

  • May be an IE z-index bug?

    - by baikaishiuc
    Below is my code. when open the page in ie browser, then select the text in div, the text will be replaced by some shadow quad blank . If you delete a line z-index:0, in css class test1, the ie will perform correctly. In my project , the z-index must be set greater than zero, so I couldn't delete the line. I found a solution is to set bg_img.filter = "" when pannel.z-index greater than 0, then ie will also working good. But unfortunately, the bg_img.filter.alpha must be set, too. So how could I do? test .test1 { position:absolute; background:#ffffff; left:20px; top:20px; border:1px solid; width:198px; height:500px; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Shadow(color="#999999", Direction=135, Strength=5); z-index:0; } </style> <script> function init () { var pannel = document.createElement ('div'); var bg_img = document.createElement ('div'); var head = document.createElement ('div'); pannel.setAttribute('class', 'test1'); pannel.setAttribute('className', 'test1'); bg_img.style.cssText = "position:relative;left:0px;top:0px;" + "width:198px;" + "height:500px;" + "filter:alpha(opacity=100);"; head.style.cssText = "position:absolute;" + "left:0px;" + "top:0px;" + "width:180px;" + "height:20px;"; document.body.appendChild (pannel); pannel.appendChild(bg_img); pannel.appendChild(head); head.innerHTML = "<div>yusutechasdf</div><div>innerhtml</div>" } </script>

  • Why is my custom view not appearing?

    - by user351469
    When I comment out setContentView(boardView); in my Game.java my custom view in BoardView works fine and displays everything nicely... but onSizeChanged never gets called in BoardView.java... so I can't read the device width and height at runtime. If I leave setContentView uncommented onSizeChanged works... but the screen is blank! I want to be able to read the screen width and height at runtime and set the sizes of my ImageViews at creation so they are the optimal size. public class Game extends Activity implements OnClickListener{ private BoardView boardView; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); boardView = new BoardView(this); setContentView(boardView); // when this line disabled, it looks ok boardView.requestFocus(); } public class BoardView extends View { private final Game game; private float width; // width of one unit private float height; // height of one unit public BoardView(Context context){ super(context); this.game = (Game)context; setFocusable(true); setFocusableInTouchMode(true); LinearLayout maincontainer = new LinearLayout(game); maincontainer.setLayoutParams(new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT,LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT)); maincontainer.setGravity(Gravity.CENTER); maincontainer.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL); maincontainer.setBackgroundColor(Color.BLACK); LinearLayout innercontainer = new LinearLayout(game); innercontainer.setLayoutParams(new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); innercontainer.setGravity(Gravity.CENTER); innercontainer.setOrientation(LinearLayout.HORIZONTAL); // declare a new table TableLayout layout = new TableLayout(game); layout.setLayoutParams(new TableLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT,LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); // build a grid of ImageViews in a TableLayout for (int f=1; f<=7; f++) { TableRow tr = new TableRow(game); for (int c=1; c<=7; c++) { ImageView b = new ImageView(game); b.setImageResource(R.drawable.neworb); b.setOnClickListener(game); tr.addView(b, 30,30); // I'd like to not use fixed values here } // for layout.addView(tr); } // for innercontainer.addView(layout); maincontainer.addView(innercontainer); game.setContentView(maincontainer); } @Override protected void onSizeChanged(int w, int h, int oldw, int oldh){ width = w/9f; height = width; super.onSizeChanged(w, h, oldw, oldh); } }

  • Writing OpenGL enabled GUI

    - by Jaen
    I am exploring a possibility to write a kind of a notebook analogue that would reproduce the look and feel of using a traditional notebook, but with the added benefit of customizing the page in ways you can't do on paper - ask the program to lay ruled paper here, grid paper there, paste an image, insert a recording from the built-in camera, try to do handwriting recognition on the tablet input, insert some latex for neat formulas and so on. I'm pretty interested in developing it just to see if writing notes on computer can come anywhere close to the comfort plain paper + pencil offer (hard to do IMO) and can always turn it in as a university C++ project, so double gain there. Coming from the type of project there are certain requirements for the user interface: the user will be able to zoom, move and rotate the notebook as he wishes and I think it's pretty sensible delegate it to OpenGL, so the prospective GUI needs to work well with OGL (preferably being rendered in it) the interface should be navigable with as little of keyboard input as user wishes (incorporating some sort of gestures maybe) up to limiting the keyboard keys as modifiers to the pen movements and taps; this includes tablet and possible multitouch support the interface should keep out of the way where not needed and come up where needed and be easily layerable the notebook sheet itself will be a container for objects representing the notebook blurbs, so it would be nice if the GUI would be able to overlay some frames over the exact parts of the OpenGL-drawn sheet to signify what can be done with given part (like moving, rotating, deleting, copying, editing etc.) and it's extents In terms of interface it's probably going to end up similar to Alias' Sketch Book Pro: [picture][http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_GGxlzvZW-CY/SeKYA_oBdSI/AAAAAAAAErE/J6A0kyXiuqA/s400/Autodesk_Alias_SketchBook_Pro_2.jpg] As far as toolkits go I'm considering Qt and nui, but I'm not really aware how well would they match up the requirements and how well would they handle such an application. As far as I know you can somehow coerce Qt into doing widget drawing with OpenGL, but on the other hand I heard voices it's slot-signal framework isn't exactly optimal and requires it's own preprocessor and I don't know how hard would be to do all the custom widgets I would need (say color-wheel, ruler, blurb frames, blurb selection, tablet-targeted pop-up menu etc.) in the constraints of Qt. Also quite a few Qt programs I've had on my machine seemed really sluggish, but it may be attributed to me having old PC or programmers using Qt suboptimally rather to the framework itself. As for [nui][http://www.libnui.net/] I know it's also cross-platform and all of the basic things you would require of a GUI toolkit and what is the biggest plus it is OpenGL-enabled from the start, but I don't know how it is with custom widgets and other facets and it certainly has smaller userbase and less elaborate documentation than Qt. The question goes as this: Does any of these toolkits fulfill (preferably all of) the requirements or there is a well fitting toolkit I haven't come across or maybe I should just roll up my sleeves, get SFML (or maybe Clutter would be more suited to this?) and something like FastDelegates or libsigc++ and program the GUI framework from the ground up myself? I would be very glad if anyone had experience with a similar GUI project and can offer some comments on how well these toolkits hold up or is it worthwhile to pursue own GUI toolkit in this case. Sorry for longwindedness, duh.

  • Android - Retrieve all data from a SQLite table row

    - by Paul
    I have searched and cannot find an answer to my issue so i hope i am not completely barking up the wrong tree (so to speak). I am new to android and have started to create an app. My app on one screen creates and adds entries to a SQLite database using public class DatabaseHandler extends SQLiteOpenHelper and this all appears to work. I retrieve all the data and populate it into a grid, again this now works. My issue is I am unable to retrieve one complete line from the grid. I populate/display the grid with the following code. I have cut a lot out as the grid is made in stages, header, blank lines etc but the grid does display as I want. The id’s work as when I touch a line it displays its unique id. The onClick is right at the end and when I use getText() instead of getID() all it returns is the data in the labelDate. How do I retrieve all the labels as listed below? TextView labelDATE = new TextView(this); TextView labelCP = new TextView(this); TextView labelBG = new TextView(this); TextView labelQA = new TextView(this); TextView labelCN = new TextView(this); TextView labelKT = new TextView(this); TextView[] tvArray = {labelDATE, labelCP, labelBG, labelQA, labelCN, labelKT}; labelDATE.setText(re.getTime()); labelCP.setText(re.getCP()); labelBG.setText(re.getBG()); labelQA.setText(re.getQA()); labelCN.setText(re.getCN()); labelKT.setText(re.getKT()); for (TextView tv : tvArray) { tv.setTextColor(Color.WHITE); tv.setId(200+count); tr.setOnClickListener(this); tr.addView(tv); } //add this to the table row tl.addView(tr, new TableLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT,LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); public void onClick(View v) { if (v instanceof TableRow) { TableRow row = (TableRow) v; TextView child = (TextView) row.getChildAt(0); Toast toast = Toast.makeText(this, String.valueOf(child.getId()), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT); toast.show(); } } I can supply all the code for the grid creation if required. Thanks for any help.

  • customizing item renderer

    - by BretzelPretzel
    i would like the label and message to be on the left of the icon....i would also like the icon to be right-aligned what is the best way to do this? I'm confused by some of the tutorials i'm seeing for custom item renderers since they never explain how to format the renderer mxml, so i haven't figured that out yet although i suspect that's what i need to be doing <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:components="components.*" creationComplete="imagelistings.send()" title="{data.title}"> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; import mx.events.FlexEvent; import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent; import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; import spark.events.IndexChangeEvent; import valueObjects.imagelistingclass; [Bindable] private var listings:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); protected function toursService_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void { var listingarray:ArrayCollection=event.result.Chapter1.entry; var entry:imagelistingclass; for each(var plate:Object in listingarray) { entry=new imagelistingclass(); entry.image=plate.image; entry.location=plate.location; entry.html=plate.html; listings.addItem(entry); } } ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> <s:HTTPService id="imagelistings" result="toursService_resultHandler(event)" url="assets/chapter1info.xml"/> </fx:Declarations> <s:List id="theList" left="0" right="0" top="0" bottom="0" alternatingItemColors="#000000" contentBackgroundColor="#404040" dataProvider="{listings}" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" > <s:itemRenderer> <fx:Component> <s:IconItemRenderer color="#FFFFFF" fontSize="30" iconField="location" labelField="" iconFillMode="scale" iconScaleMode="letterbox" iconHeight="125" messageField="image"> </s:IconItemRenderer> </fx:Component> </s:itemRenderer> </s:List>

  • Different data for different dates

    - by nsw1475
    I am making a web page which will allow users to input and view data for different dates, and to change the date, there are two buttons, one of which will display the previous day, and one which will show the next day. I know that I can do this by submitting forms and reloading the page every time they press one of these buttons, but I would rather use javascript and not have to submit a form, but I am having troubles getting it to work. Currently, I have the two buttons, and the date stored in a PHP variable, as shown in my code below: <script> function init() { <? $nutrDate = $this->parseDate(date('m/d/Y')); ?> } function nutrPrevDay() { <? $nutrDate = mktime(0, 0, 0, date('m',$nutrDate), date('d',$nutrDate)-1, date('Y',$nutrDate)); ?> alert("<? echo(date("m/d/y", $nutrDate)) ?>"); } function nutrNextDay() { <? $nutrDate = mktime(0, 0, 0, date('m',$nutrDate), date('d',$nutrDate)+1, date('Y',$nutrDate)); ?> } window.onload = init; </script> <p style="text-align:center; font-size:14px; color:#03F"> <button onclick="nutrPrevDay()" style="width:200px" >< Show Previous Day</button> <? echo(date('m/d/Y', $nutrDate)) ?> <button onclick="nutrNextDay()" style="width:200px">Show Next Day ></button> </p> I have the alert in the nutrPrevDay() only as debugging. What happens is when I click on the button, the alert shows that the day is correctly decreased (for example from May 17 to May 16), but only decreases one day, and not one day for every click. Also, I do not know how to make the text on the page (created by the line ) change to display the new date after a button is clicked. So here are my questions: 1) Is it possible to dynamically change data (such as text, and in the future, SQL queries) on a page using javascript without having to reload a page when clicking on a button? 2) If possible, how can I make those changes? 3) How can I fix this so that it will increment and decrement through dates every time a button is clicked?

  • IE is doing strange things with JQuery

    - by Syncopated
    So ... The thing is, the code works in FireFox, no problems. But when I open the same page, it gives me the following error: "Undefined is null or not an object." But when I copy the code to a localhost page, it works fine. Also when I clear my cache in IE it works, but only once, if I refresh after that one load, it gives me the same error. Here is the code: <script type="text/javascript" src="datepicker/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var count3 = 0; var count5 = 0; var count2 = 0; var count4 = 0; $(document).ready(function(){ $('#switch3').click(function(){ $('#switchDiv3').slideToggle(350); if(count3 == 0){ count3 = 1; document.getElementById('switchImage3').src = "images/ArrowDown.png"; return; } else { count3 = 0; document.getElementById('switchImage3').src = "images/ArrowRight.png"; return; } }); ... (this is the code for each item that is generated) </script> And the code that determines the div that should hide: <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center"> <tr> <td width="20" align="center" valign="top" style="padding-right: 3px"> <a style="cursor: pointer;" id="switch3"><img width="20" height="20" src="images/ArrowRight.png" id="switchImage3" style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; border-color: black;"/></a> </td> <td> <div id="switchDiv3"> <div align="left"> (Contents of the div here) </div> </div> </td> </tr> </table> Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance

  • allignment issue of div tag

    - by Quasar the space thing
    I am trying to create a web page where on click of a button I can add div tags. What I thought to do was that I'll create two div tags within a single div so that over all presentation will be uniform and similar to a table having two columns and multiple rows and the first column contains only label's and second column will contain textbox. Here is the JS file : var counter = 0; function create_div(type){ var dynDiv = document.createElement("div"); dynDiv.id = "divid_"+counter; dynDiv.class="main"; document.body.appendChild(dynDiv); question(); if(type == 'ADDTEXTBOX'){ ADDTEXTBOX(); } counter=counter+1; } function question(){ var question_div = document.createElement("div"); question_div.class="question"; question_div.id = "question_div_"+counter; var Question = prompt("Enter The Question here:", ""); var node=document.createTextNode(Question); question_div.appendChild(node); var element=document.getElementById("divid_"+counter); element.appendChild(question_div); } function ADDTEXTBOX(){ var answer_div = document.createElement("div"); answer_div.class="answer"; answer_div.id = "answer_div_"+counter; var answer_tag = document.createElement("input"); answer_tag.id = "answer_tag_"+counter; answer_tag.setAttribute("type", "text"); answer_tag.setAttribute("name", "textbox"); answer_div.appendChild(answer_tag); var element=document.getElementById("divid_"+counter); element.appendChild(answer_div); } Here is the css file : .question { width: 40%; height: auto; float: left; display: inline-block; text-align: justify; word-wrap:break-word; } .answer { padding-left:10%; width: 40%; height: auto; float: left; overflow: auto; word-wrap:break-word; } .main { width: auto; background-color:gray; height: auto; overflow: auto; word-wrap:break-word; } My problem is that the code is working properly but both the divisions are not coming in a straight line. after the first div prints on the screen the second divisions comes in another line. How can I make both the div's come in the same line ? Thank You. PS : should I stick with the current idea of using div or should I try some other approach ? like tables ?

  • Function to get the font and calculate the width of the string not working on first instance

    - by user3627265
    I'm trying to calculate the width of the string based on the font style and size. The user will provide the string, the font style and the font size, and then after giving all the data the user will hit the submit button and the function will trigger. Basically this script works but only when the submit button is hit twice or the font is selected twice,. I mean if you selec DNBlock as a font, it will not work for first time, but the second time you hit submit, it will then work. I'm not sure where is the problem here, but when I used the default font style like Arial, times new roman etc it works perfectly fine. Any Idea on this? I suspected that the font style is not being rendered by the script or something. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks //Repeat String String.prototype.repeat = function( num ) { return new Array( num + 1 ).join( this ); } //Calculate the width of string String.prototype.textWidth = function() { var fntStyle = document.getElementById("fntStyle").value; if(fntStyle == "1") { var fs = "DNBlock"; } else if(fntStyle == "2") { var fs = "DNBlockDotted"; } else if(fntStyle == "3") { var fs = "DNCursiveClassic"; } else if(fntStyle == "4") { var fs = "DNCursiveDotted"; } else if(fntStyle == "5") { var fs = "FoundationCursiveDots-Regul"; } var f = document.getElementById("fntSize").value.concat('px ', fs), o = $('<div>' + this + '</div>') .css({'position': 'absolute', 'float': 'left', 'white-space': 'nowrap', 'visibility': 'hidden', 'font': f}) .appendTo($('body')), w = o.width(); o.remove(); return w; } //Trigger the event $("#handwriting_gen").submit(function () { var rptNO = parseInt($('#rptNO').val()); $("[name='txtLine[]']").each(function(){ alert(this.value.repeat(rptNO).textWidth()); if(this.value.repeat(rptNO).textWidth() > 1000) { $(this).focus(); $(this).css({"background-color":"#f6d9d4"}).siblings('span.errorMsg').text('Text is too long.'); event.preventDefault(); } }); });
