    I am trying to download a data file from a local network share to an iPhone device. I have placed the file on a computer on the network and can view through browsers such as Chrome or Mozilla, from any computer on the local network. However, Safari on a Mac and the iPhone do not find the file! An example of the URL I use is 'file://computer/SharedDocs/file.csv'. Why do Safari and the iPhone fail to find the file?

    I'm still pretty new to Android and programming in general, and I can't seem to get the command line tools packaged with the Android SDK to work. I'm running Mac OSX and each time I try to run layoutopt, for example, the terminal returns, *-bash: cmd: command not found * Also, is it okay to have my SDK located in the Developer directory and my android project in some unrelated directory when using these tools?

    I'm trying to log the change of a value in the console (Firefox/Firefly, mac). if(count < 1000) { count = count+1; console.log(count); setTimeout("startProgress", 1000); } This is only returning the value 1. It stops after that. Am I doing something wrong or is there something else affecting this?

  • Jquery slider going the wrong way

    Im using a jquery slider and having an issue with what direction it scrolls on click. It seems to screw up after clicking the right arrow then left, but will scroll left if clicked first, weird. Is this a bug or am I missing something here?     I use bash on mac and one of the aliases is like this alias gitlog='git --no-pager log -n 20 --pretty=format:%h%x09%an%x09%ad%x09%s --date=short --no-merges' However when I do :! gitlog I get /bin/bash: gitlog: command not found I know I can add aliases like this in my .gitconfig [alias] co = checkout st = status ci = commit br = branch df = diff However I don't want to add all my bash aliases to .gitconfig. That is not DRY. Is there a better solution?

    i'm trying to implement an id obfuscation scheme, with a simple hash borrowed elsewhere. i've added a method on the application helper: @@M_ID = 2**31-1 @@PRIME = 1580030173 @@PRIME_INVERSE = 59260789 # (calculated from MAXID and PRIME offline) def obfuscate_id(x) if x return ((x * @@PRIME) & @@M_ID) else x end end for some reason, whenever this is called, ruby locks up, and starts eating up disk space on my mac... like - gigs of it. any ideas?

    I am using the Mac OS X Apple Script Editor and (while debugging) instead of writing a lot of display dialog statements, I'd like to write the results of some calculation in the window below, called "Result" (I have the German UI here, so the translation is a guess). So is there a write/print statement that I can use for putting messages in the "standard out" window? I am not asking to put the messages in a logfile on the file system, it is purely temporary.

But I already saw differences in layout and behavior between our app and Chrome (that uses WebKit as well), e.g.: - different fonts are displayed for the same web page - an html anchor link with "javascript:someFunction()" is not working Is there somewhere a summary list of all such differences (not the entire QtWebKit bug list)? Also: is there a way to use a WebKit version more similar to Chrome in my application?

  • disable horizontal scrolling by finger swipe

    This may just be a mac issue, but I have a page with an element which is twice the size of the page and is moved into view dynamically. in my css I have overflow-x:hidden set so that this element won't create an ugly bottom scollbar, the problem is on my laptop (and probably on ipads and other devices) I can just swipe with two fingers to scroll and view this content. This breaks the whole layout and looks really bad, and I am looking for a way to completely disable this horizontal scrolling action with javascript or css. Thank you

Everything looks great, but when I hit command-Q or do it from the menu, my windowStateChanged(WindowEvent e) is not firing on my main JFrame (if I exit in any other way, it does fire).     In SublimeText(2), when you press [ctrl + shift + p] (mac osx) you are shown a scope of where your caret/cursor is in the source code at the given moment e.g.: entity.name.tag.inline.any.html meta.tag.inline.any.html text.html.basic I am curious about what library or script is used to parse the document/file and create that scope string. A sidenote: Typing view.syntax_name(view.sel()[0].b) into Sublime's console will output the scope as well.

    Sometimes R stops displaying output. I type the number 1, followed by the return key, and nothing appears. This situation occurred after I pressed the "STOP" icon in the window, which is for stopping long calculations. I'm using R 2.11.0 on a Mac. Does pressing "STOP" cause R to stop displaying output? How do I get R to display output again?
