  • Folders without Namespaces C#, .Net, VS 2008

    I'm working on an ASP.NET webapp using the MVP pattern, and as I'm organizing my files I'm wondering - are there conventions on folders within projects and how they relate to namespaces? I have a bunch of controls and a bunch of pages, and I was going to throw them into Controls and Pages folders with subfolders, but I didn't know if it was bad form to do this if I wasn't also going to seperate them out into namespaces. Disregarding the security issues with this, I've come up with the following way. curl -F file=@<filename> http://webhost/reciever.aspx The problem is, no matter what I try, the ASP.NET page is not accepting the file. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello, I am creating some cookies in my ASP.NET application. These cookies expire 10 minutes after they have been created. I follow the approach described on MSDN as shown here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httpcookie.expires.aspx My question is, when a cookie "expires", what happens? Does the browser automatically delete the cookie? Is it our responsibility as developers to remove the cookies if they exist and have expired? Thank you,

    I would like to know the number of users logged into my ASP.NET 2.0 application. Points to be considered: 1) Simplest way would be to use Application or Cache object to have the counts on Session start or end. However this would fail if there is a worker process recycle. Wouldn't it? 2) Should't make a difference whether the session is inproc/state server managed/ or SQL server managed. 3) Should preferably be seamless to a web-farm architecture.

    I have the following asp.net mvc 3 razor code, where "item" is my model, <a @if (item.Selected) { class="youarehere" } href="@item.Href" title="@item.Title">@item.Description</a> This code throws up the following error, CS1513: } expected which is pointing to class="youarehere" portion of the code, but I could not figure out why.     I have a .net application which needs to expose a service consumed by a java client. The service can't be public. There should be some authentication mechanism for the client. What is the best way to do this? I'm new to web services and am confused by all the soap, wsdl etc. and have also heard a lot that it'll be a pain to get the two to communicate. Your thoughts?

  • Labeling a chart in VB.NET (VS 2008)

    Hi all, I have created a basic chart in VB.NET (VS 2008) and it is working good, but I would like to label the axies of the chart. The method "AxisLabel" is not what I am looking for. I want to put the word "Dollars" vertically on the far left hand side of my chart (just left of the numbers labeling the "y" axis) and the word "Months" horizontally at the bottom of the chart but above the legend (just below the numbers labeling the "x" axis).     I was wondering if anyone has come up with an ASP.net server tag for the HTML5 canvas? I was thinking of something where I could declaritively define paths, curves; etc in the aspx markup, and the control would deliver the js to do this (perhaps with support for browser detection, and delivery of an emulation script for IE browsers.) Maybe a good idea for a Codeplex project for me to start up?
