• How can I open another tab in the browser from the Code Behind [duplicate]

  This question already has an answer here: Response.Redirect to new window 18 answers I have an ASP.Net project that I am working on that involves opening another tab in the browser from the vb.net (code behind). I have tried to use the WebBrowser control to open the new tab as well as tried to use the Script manager however I have not been able to open the new tab. • Reverse Data With BIT TYPE for MS SQL

  I have a column using a BIT type (1/0). I have some records are set to 1 and some are set to 0. Those are record flag needs to be reversed. So basically, I want all records with 1 set 0, and all records with 0 set to 1. If I run "Update Table1 Set Flag = 1 Where Flag = 0" first, then I am afraid all record flags will be 1 now, and will not able to know which ones are flag = 0. any suggestions, Thanks!

• Accessing controls created dynamically (c#)

  In my code behind (c#) I dynamically created some RadioButtonLists with more RadioButtons in each of them. I put all controls to a specific Panel. What I need to know is how to access those controls later as they are not created in .aspx file (with drag and drop from toolbox)? I tried this: foreach (Control child in panel.Controls) { Response.Write("test1"); if (child.GetType().ToString().Equals("System.Web.UI.WebControls.RadioButtonList")) { RadioButtonList r = (RadioButtonList)child; Response.Write("test2"); } } "test1" and "test2" dont show up in my page. • Why does my UI controls work on iPhone but not iPad?

  I have an iPhone app, which consists of a table view containing various custom UITableViewCells, with UISlider and UISwitch controls. When running the app on the iphone, I can move the slider and switches contained in each of the table cells. When I run the same app on the iPad. I can not. None of the controls within the table view will respond to touches. I have checked 'User Interaction Enabled' within the Interface Builder. Anybody got any suggestions of where I should be looking for the cause of different behavior between the iPhone and iPad, in respect to UIControls.

• alias not working on sql server 2008 r2

  I have several servers with SQL Server 2008 R2 instances on them, and alias doesn't work on any of them. Clients connect to these servers using TCP/IP without any problem, telnet works on IP/Port I use for my alias, the firewall exceptions are created, basically everything works fine, except when I create an alias, I can not connect through it to my server using either TCP/IP or named pipes (local or one of other servers). I've installed latest cumulative updates, which updates native client too (which I think is the source of problem) and I still have the problem. The stranger part is, if I create an alias on a server with sql server 2005 (native client 9), I can connect to my 2008 r2 instances. Any suggestions?

• form data posted using linq-to-sql not showing until I refresh the page

  I have an asp.net mvc app with a form. When you submit the form, it adds records to the sql database with linq-to-sql. After adding the records, the controller displays the form again, and should show those new values on the form. But, when it displays the form, the values are blank, until you refresh the page. While tracing through the code, I can see the records being added to the database when they are submitted, but the view doesnt display them, unless I refresh. The view is not the problem, it just displays the view model, which is missing the new records immediately after the post. I know this is kind of vague, but wasnt sure what parts of code to include here. Could this have something to do with data context life cycle? Basically, there is a data context created when the form is posted, then a different data context is created in the method that displays the form. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

  I'm trying to integrate a script file hosted by a third party into a new web site. So, for the sake of best practice, I want to provide alternative content if the external script takes longer than e.g. 10 seconds to load. How do I achieve this? I've looked at JavaScript's native setTimeout(), as well as jQuery's delay() function, but I'm not sure which I should use--or how. Grateful for any suggestions.

  Hi! I'm a relative newbie on iPhone app development but have successfully created a tab bar app with 4 tab bar items. I would like to have a one-off registration page for users to key-in information when they open the application for the first time. The registration page should load before the view with the selection of tab bar items loads. What is the best way to do this? Also, how do I load a UIView or UIWebView before the tab bar items load? • No mapping for LONGVARCHAR in Hibernate 3.2

  I am running Hibernate 3.2.0 with MySQL 5.1. After updating the group_concat_max_len in MySQL (because of a group_concat query that was exceeding the default value), I got the following exception when executing a SQLQuery with a group_concat clause: "No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: -1" -1 is the java.sql.Types value for LONGVARCHAR. Evidently, increasing the group_concat_max_len value causes calls to group_concat to return a LONGVARCHAR value. This appears to be an instance of this bug: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-3892 I guess there is a fix for this issue in Hibernate 3.5, but that is still a development version, so I am hesitant to put it into production, and don't know if it would cause issues for other parts of my code base. I could also just use JDBC queries, but then I have to replace every instance of a SQLQuery with a group_concat clause. Any other suggestions?

I know that a char* is only 4 bytes. However, I have allocated the memory for 10kb. So shouldn't the size be 10240? I am wondering am I thinking right here? Many thanks for any suggestions,

• How can i get the selected option name or id of a select element using jQuery

  Hi All, i have a "questionairre" that is made up of a series of select boxes. i need to use two properties in the options. For each selected option i need the value (which i know how to get and is working fine) but i also need to store an additional value which represents the id of the specific option in a DB. One solution would be to put the two values in the "value" property and parse it out.. but if there is some other property i can use that might be easier and clearer.. can i add a custom property?? like databaseId that could be accessed with jQuery? thanks for ANY suggestions.

• Google Maps API - load the US

  I am new to google maps api. I'd like suggestions on achieving the following functionality: whenever the page loads, the map will load centered around the US. Imagine a box around the US with given lat/longs specifying the minimum and maximum boundaries. I need the map to load at the appropriate zoom (and zoom needs to be disabled) such that this box composes the entire map. Basically, I'm wondering if there is a function that loads the map based on lat/long boundaries (or some way to acheive this), rather then loading the map given a zoom level.

• jQuery slider - set background color to show desired range

  Howdy, I'm setting up a Filament Group jQuery UI slider and using it in a gradebook. We need to allow teachers to set a desired background range (to show the desirable values vs. the actual value for a given grade). I'm hoping to set a shaded area (as shown in this picture) that would indicate to people viewing the slider which values are desirable. If the handle is within the desired ranges, then the value is satisfactory. If the handle is out of the background shaded range, then some changes may need to happen. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Based on what I've experimented with using Firebug, it looks like a <div class="ui-slider"> is setup, but the values inside of it don't seem to allow setting background-colors (only the div allows for that). • C++ open() fails for no apparant reason

• Problem running firefox built from source (on Ubuntu 9.10)

  The title of the question sums it up pretty well. I've downloaded the source for firefox 3.6 and built it (no errors), but when I try to run it, I get a warning that says: (firefox-bin:2857): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times I'm not sure what to try now. Any suggestions? Or even a better place to ask this question? *EDIT - It's not that I only get a warning, that wouldn't bother me. The problem is that the warning is the only thing that ever happens (no firefox windows show up or anything). When I run it from the terminal, that warning shows up twice and then nothing else happens (it just hangs and I have to Ctrl-C it).

I need to pass in the name of the calling class to get the association right.   Hello, I currently have the following js code function clearMulti(option) { var i; var select = document.getElementById(option.parentNode.id); for(i=1;i<select.options.length;i++) { select.options[i].selected=false; } } and function clearAllOpt(select) { select.options[0].selected = false; } The first one deselects all options in the multiple select when called and the second clears the first option whenever anything else is selected. The need for this is that the first option is for All. This all works fine and dandy in FF, but in IE8 nothing happens... any suggestions on how to get this to work in both? Thanks in advance.
