Android RTSP coding problem

I have Googled my butt off trying to find where if there is a surefire way to make rtsp work. I have a radio station that I listen to that streams via rtsp. Of course by default Android doesn't want to play it. If I pop the URL into yourmuze.fm and create a station there it lets me stream it to my phone. After checking how it works I come to find that it streams to the phone via rtsp! So obviously there is something amiss. What makes one stream work and one not? This is the stream I am attempting : rtsp://wms2.christiannetcast.com/yes-fm It is an audio stream so I would be thrilled with most peoples problem of "it only does audio and not video." When yourmuze.fm streams, DDMS states it brings up MovieView to play the audio if that helps at all.

Undefined Results in jQuery Autocomplete

So I've got the latest versions of jQuery and UI running. I'm using the basic autocomplete invocation and returning valid JSON (validated via JSONLint). $("input#cust_id").autocomplete({ source: yoda.app.base + "/assets/cfc/util/autocomplete.cfc?method=cust", minLength: 2, select: function(event, ui) { log(ui.item ? I can watch the results returned via Firebug and the JSON is correct there as well. Also, while the list only says "undefined" it does say that the same number of times as records returned in JSON. How can I connect to Android with ADB over TCP?

I am attempting to debug an application on a Motorola Droid but I am having some difficulty connecting to the device via USB. My development server is a Windows 7 64bit VM running in HyperV and so I cannot connect directly via USB in the guest or from the host. I installed a couple of different USB over TCP solutions but the connection appears to have issues since the adb monitor reports "devicemonitor failed to start monitoring" repeatedly. I was wondering if there is a way to connect directly from the client on the development machine to the daemon on the device using the network instead of the usb connection or possibly other viable options?

UTF8 encoding not working when using ajax.

I recently changed some of my pages to be displayed via ajax and I am having some confusion as to why the utf8 encoding is now displaying a question mark inside of a box, whereas before it wasn't. Fore example. The oringal page was index.php. charset was explicitly set to utf8 and is in the <head>. Why my VPN doesn't work anymore?

I have openvpn server running on debian lenny. There is only one client - and it is running Windows 7 64-bit. This has worked for few months without any problems. And now, let's say for the last 7 days, it doesn't work at all. I connect successfully from client to the server, but I can't access anything through VPN. I have set it up so that all internet traffic is routed through VPN, and now when I connect with the client, the client can't do anything on the net (open any webpage, ping google, anything ...). Can you help me to figure out what's wrong ? I don't know where to start. I've also tried to connect to another openvpn server (I've installed and configured openvpn on another server, and when I try to connect to it result is the same). So I think there's something wrong with client ... Can compiler optimization introduce bugs ?

Hi, Today I had a discussion with a friend of mine and we debated for a couple of hours about "compiler optimization". I defended the point that sometimes, a compiler optimization might introduce bugs or at least, undesired behavior. My friend totally disagreed, saying that "compiler are built by smart people and do smart things" and thus, can never go wrong. He didn't convinced my at all, but I have to admit I lack of real-life examples to strengthen my point. Who is right here ? If I am, do you have any real-life example where a compiler optimization produced a bug in the resulting software ? If I'm mistaking, should I stop programming and learn fishing instead ? Using ptrace to generate a stack dump

Hello. I am compiling C++ on *nix and I would like to generate a stack dump a) at an arbitrary point in the program, b) during any signal, particularly during SIGSEGV. Google tells me that ptrace is probably the tool for the job, but I can't find any comprehensible examples of walking the stack. Getting the return address, yeah, but what about the NEXT return address? And what about extracting the symbolic name of the function at that point? Something to do with DWARF? Many thanks if you can tell me where to go from here.

Get Contact Profile Information from Office Communicator (OCS) SDK in C#?

Hi, My company uses MS Office Communicator Server (OCS) 2007 R2, and I am accessing with C# with the SDK. If I right click on a contact in OCS, I get the option to 'View Contact Card'. I want access to this via the API! Unfortunately I can find nothing in the SDK documentation to get at this. There is a method called 'ViewProfile' which is unsupported, and I can find nothing out there about it. I could of course go directly to the Active Directory account of the contact, but that would require my machine to connect to the organization via VPN. Since most of us work 'offline' I would prefer not to do this. (The data I need is anyway in OCS!) Thanks in advance, Andrew

Build Issue with multi module project

Hi, I have a multi module web project. Four modules of the project are packaged as jar and added as dependency to the fifth module, which is packaged as war. When it is time to deploy the application i just run package on the war project and my war is created with all the dependencies. Now there is a problem. One of the my module have heavy changes. Now when i created war for my projects these changes was not reflected in the output war file(the jar in lib folder of war has still the old code). Can you please point the things i am missing from the release process? Why the old code is being packaged with the war? how to set charset for MySQL in RODBC

I have a data with chinese characters as field names and data, I have imported them from xls to access 2007 and export them to ODBC. Then I use RODBC to read them in R, the field names is OK, but for the data, all of the chinese characters are shown as ?. I have read the RODBC manual and it said: If it is possible to set the DBMS or ODBC driver to communicate in the character set of the R session then this should be done. For example, MySQL can set the communication character set via SQL, e.g. SET NAMES 'utf8'. I guess this is the problem, but how can I provide this command to MySQL via RODBC? Thanks!

Scrolling when idle?

Can anyone point me to an example of code for a page that begins to automatically scroll when the user is idle for an amount of time? I think this is slightly beyond my skill set. I think JQuery or something similar might be appropriate but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm designing a site for the nonprofit I work for and we don't have the money to hire a programmer. PRoblem with select null option

Hallo all. I got a strange problem with this piece of code Seleziona text 1 test 2 The correct behaviour is that with this html the selected option is the "Seleziona" On some browser when i render this html the first option is blank and if I select the value jQuery("#nazioni").val() I got null value. Where is the problem? With the select option in this state I cannot set any values via jquery or via any other plugin. jQuery("#nazioni option:first").attr("selected", "selected"); does not work. I tried to use the textotela plugin (http://www.texotela.co.uk/code/jquery/select/) but if i remove the first option in this way jQuery("#nazioni).removeOption(0) it removes the "Seleziona" value. What's the best Communication Pattern for EJB3-based applications?

I'm starting a JEE project that needs to be strongly scalable. So far, the concept was: several Message Driven Beans, responsible for different parts of the architecture each MDB has a Session Bean injected, handling the business logic a couple of Entity Beans, providing access to the persistence layer communication between the different parts of the architecture via Request/Reply concept via JMS messages: MDB receives msg containing activity request uses its session bean to execute necessary business logic returns response object in msg to original requester The idea was that by de-coupling parts of the architecture from each other via the message bus, there is no limit to the scalability. Simply start more components - as long as they are connected to the same bus, we can grow and grow. Unfortunately, we're having massive problems with the request-reply concept. Transaction Mgmt seems to be in our way plenty. It seams that session beans are not supposed to consume messages?! Reading http://blogs.sun.com/fkieviet/entry/request_reply_from_an_ejb and http://forums.sun.com/message.jspa?messageID=10338789, I get the feeling that people actually recommend against the request/reply concept for EJBs. If that is the case, how do you communicate between your EJBs? (Remember, scalability is what I'm after) Details of my current setup: MDB 1 'TestController', uses (local) SLSB 1 'TestService' for business logic TestController.onMessage() makes TestService send a message to queue XYZ and requests a reply TestService uses Bean Managed Transactions TestService establishes a connection & session to the JMS broker via a joint connection factory upon initialization (@PostConstruct) TestService commits the transaction after sending, then begins another transaction and waits 10 sec for the response Message gets to MDB 2 'LocationController', which uses (local) SLSB 2 'LocationService' for business logic LocationController.onMessage() makes LocationService send a message back to the requested JMSReplyTo queue Same BMT concept, same @PostConstruct concept all use the same connection factory to access the broker Problem: The first message gets send (by SLSB 1) and received (by MDB 2) ok. Oracle 10g express home page is not coming up

Hello All: My Oracle 10g Express Edition , I can login in the SQL plus but I cannot login into oracle via SQL developer and cannot view the Home page at link http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex. This was working fine until yesterday. I have checked via (WINDOWS)netstat -ab and no other app is using the 8080 port. The only thing I did today was I changed my SQL server 2005 Developer edition from Windows authentication to Mixed Mode authentication. Can anyone let me know how to get the Oracle Web page and the SQL Developer to work. I will gratly appreciate that. Thanks! Adnan A.

Selectively configuring Apache 2 mod_headers for Google Chrome Frame

I am currently evaluating Google Chrome Frame and so far i'm happy with it, but what i'd like to do is selectively use it for certain sections of my website. Some sections require ActiveX so need to be viewed in native IE, whereas others benefit greatly, and may end up requiring, Chrome Frame. I've currently got the following configured in my apache httpd.conf file - <IfModule mod_setenvif.c> <IfModule mod_headers.c> BrowserMatch chromeframe gcf Header append X-UA-Compatible "chrome=1" env=gcf </IfModule> </IfModule> This causes anything coming in via Apache to get the chrome frame stuff added to the headers. What I need is to make this only happen when a user visits particular URL's / particular pages, which i'm currently controlling via RewriteRules. Could anybody explain how I would go about this, as my understanding of the Apache config files isn't brilliant. Thanks.

Error: ('IM002', '[IM002] [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified (0) (SQLDriverConnectW)') I'm migrating from developing on a windows development machine to linux machine in production and I'm having issues with the freetds driver. As far as I can tell that error message means it can't find the driver. I can connect via the cli via sqsh and tsql. I've setup my settings.py as such. 'bc2db': { 'ENGINE': 'sql_server.pyodbc', 'NAME': 'DataTEST', 'USER': 'appuser', 'PASSWORD': 'PASS', 'HOST': 'bc2.domain.com', 'options': { 'driver': 'FreeTDS', } }, Does anyone have any mssql experience with djano? do I have to use a dns? SilverLight 3 Beginner question: Scroll with mousewheel and zoom image with panning

Caching Solutions

Has anyone done a thorough comparison of AppFabric and NCache or AppFabric and ScaleOut? We are currently looking to implement either AppFabric, NCache or ScaleOut for distributed caching in geographically distant locations and I would like to know anyone's thoughts who has compared them side by side. I appreciate that many people use one or the other and tell me why their chosen solution is great but I am really looking for a comparison of the two products. Such things as what does AppFabric not do or not do well (if anything), partially from a features point of view but also from developer's point of view. Is working with one compared to the other nicer, easier, more flexible, more powerful, etc. There are plenty of lists of features which I can compare but am really looking for a comparison from someone who has perhaps been in a similar position to us and has performed the evaluation that we are about to launch into which will give us some food for thought whilst we do so. Subnav "active" when it shouldn't be.

I think the problem lies with the initial LI controlling the ul underneath somehow. I need to keep the xhtml formatted exactly how it is right now and only change the CSS to fix this problem. I'd appreciate any help you may be able to point me in the right direction, I'm pretty stuck at this point. Thank you in advance!

Apache2 several sites and configuration question

Hello I want to host several sites from my VPS via apache2 under Debian. Splitting assemblies - finding the balance (avoiding overkill)

I'm writing a wide component infrastructure, to be used in my projects. Since not all projects will require every component created, I've been thinking of splitting the component into discrete assemblies, so that every application developed will only be deployed with the required assemblies. I assume that creating an assembly has some storage overhead (the assembly's code, wrapping whatever is inside). Therefore, there must be some limit to the advantage gained by splitting an assembly - a certain point where splitting the assembly is worse than keeping it united (storage-wise and performance-wise). Now, here is the question: how do I know when splitting an assembly is an overkill? P.S I guess there are other overheads to assembly splitting, aside from the storage overhead. If anyone can point out these overheads, it would be much appreciated.

How do I mirror a SVN repository on CodePlex?

I'm the creator (and so far, only developer) of a CodePlex project. I've writing it on my laptop, using a Subversion repository on my home network. Submitting my changes to CodePlex via the TeamServer interface is driving me crazy, and I'd really like a simple way of syncing my svn repos with CodePlex via there new SVN interface. svnsync or synmerge seem to be the way to go, but neither's instructions seem clear to a guy who's only ever used TortoiseSVN. And they seem to also seem need local access to the destination server (which clearly for CodePlex, is impossible) So, could someone give simple instructions how to do this?

TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 missing repository browser in Branch/Tag "To URL" dialog?

It seems that in TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 (on Windows), when you click the "To URL..." button in the Branch/Tag dialog, it now pops up a generic "browse for folders" dialog. It used to pop up a Repository Browser. Displaying a regular folder browser isn't much use, since you can't navigate to any of the tags/branches via the file system. Does anyone know if this is a regression or a deliberate change? Any possible workarounds (other than reverting to 1.6.7, which works fine)? Notes: I am running a repository on the local file system, which may yield different results to one going across a network. I'm definitely using an FSFS repository, so changes to BDB access via file:/// shouldn't apply. I need git-svn to act as a Subversion v1.5+ client

I'm running git 1.7 on Mac OSX, installed via Homebrew. I'm trying to use git svn to work with a Subversion server that requires Subversion 1.5 clients (a restriction enforced via a pre-commit hook.) Running git svn --version reveals that as far as git is concerned, git svn is equivalent to svn v1.4.4. I can't establish whether git svn is a total clone of subversion, and thus needs to be updated to meet subversion v1.5 functionality, or if git is compiled against or just points to some version of subversion under the hood. I've struggled finding anyone else trying to upgrade the version of git-svn, and I'm guessing this client version restriction is unusual, but I'm stuck with it (corporate environment.) Is it possible to have git operate as svn 1.5?

How do I trap the ENTER key in WM 6.1 using C++

Hi,Our barcode scanner application is written in C++ eMbedded V 4.00 and works well on the Motorola MC50 WM5 where the ENTER key is interpreted as an IDOK. We are moving the app to the MC55 with WM6.1 and the ENTER key does not translate to an IDOK. I'm of the impression we will have to programatically trap the key entry (or the value passed on via DataWedge). I have made several attempts to implement either a HOTKEY or something via an Accelerator Table but have been unable to interpret the Microsoft on-line descriptions. If there is a simpler answer that would be good news. If not, a more specific example than the MS samples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
