  • Visual Studio 2010 color theme

    Has anyone found/made any decent color themes for Visual Studio 2010? My VS 2005/2008 themes seem to be getting mangled in the upgrade process. I'm accustomed to using the ever famous Oren Ellenbogen's Dark Scheme featured on Scott Hanselman's blog, but the upgrade process has made it downright butt-ugly. Does anyone have any gems they'd like to share?

  • Cannot add Silverlight Maps Control to Windows Mobile 7 application

    I know the bits just came out today, but one of the first things I want to do with the newly released Windows Mobile 7 SDK is put a map up on the screen and mess around. I've downloaded the latest version of the Silverlight Maps Control and added the references to my application. As a matter of fact, the VS 2010 design view of the MainPage.xaml shows the map control after adding the namespace and placing the control. I'm using the provided VS 2010 Express version that comes with the Win Mobile 7 SDK and have just used the New Project - Windows Phone Application template. When I try to build I get two warnings related to the Microsoft.Maps.MapControl dll's. Warning 1 The primary reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the framework assembly "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e" which could not be resolved in the currently targeted framework. "Silverlight,Version=v4.0,Profile=WindowsPhone". To resolve this problem, either remove the reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" or retarget your application to a framework version which contains "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e".   • How to determine if scrolling a UITableView was done by tapping the index?

    Hello, all ... I want to determine when the index (transparent alphabet) along the side of a UITableView is tapped. To be more specific, I have a sectioned UITableView that has an index, and said index does the right thing, but when the UITableView's -scrollViewDidScroll method is called, I want to be able to determine if said scrolling was the result of the user tapping the index, vs. dragging or swiping the table view itself. If anyone has ideas on how to do this, i'd love to hear about them :-) Regards, John

    Hi, I am having a requirement, where I need to have a pie-chart, i need text around pie-chart , the text should be a hyperlink. Ex: we have 3 three fields A,B,C. A's ratio is 30%, B's ratio is 40%, c's ratio is 30% So pie chart gets divided into 3 parts, outside the graph , we should get the label A(in A's area only), when we point on , tool tip should say "A's ratio is 30 %'. I am working in .Net 3.5, VS 2008, using MS chart control(added explicitly by executing MSChart.exe. Thanks in Advance Ram

    I saw a similar question asked and answered for ASP.net here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/484327/how-do-i-prevent-visual-studio-from-renaming-my-controls But I am trying to prevent this while writing a Windows forms app in VS 2008 using c#. I want to copy/paste a ton of controls without them being called Checkbox1 etc. I'd rather rename them manually since its only a small change to the name.

I have tried to use Pear's PHP UML package which has produced a lot of JavaDoc style documentation and an XMI document. From what I have read, this can be used to create class diagrams? If so, how?     quick question is the public key token for ADODB dll different for 64bit and 32bit. I am trying to use a COM api which uses ADODB.Recordset and some how I am not able select the right version of ADODB in VS(2010) it asks for 2.8.0.0 and I add 2.8 from the reference dialog.     In the ClickOnce "Application Files" files dialog, most of the entries for files are listed with the name "C". I have seen this on a colleague's machine for a different project as well. Has anyone else seen this and is there a way to get the correct filename inserted? We are both using VS 2008.
