  I'm designing a navigation bar as shown in image below (a) with the following code: <ul> <li class="unselected">Step 1</li> <li class="selected">Step 2</li> <li class="unselected">Step 3</li> <li class="unselected">Step 4</li> <li class="unselected">Step 5</li> </ul> I want to have one background image for unselected steps (d) and one for the selected step (c). For simplicity let's assume Step 1 and Step 5 use the same background as well. I want to adjust the button background in HTML only with a class name. The question is how can I achieve the result with CSS? I just want to know how background of two neighbor elements can overlap each other?

  I have a SpecialisedRedBlackTree class that is templated. My Month class is not. In my Month class I have a private member which is an instance of SpecialisedRedBlackTree: SpecialisedRedBlackTree<Day> m_windSpeedTree; As you can see it will take the Day class/object (please correct me on any terms I get wrong). In my Month class, I have a method passing a method function pointer to this method: bool Month::CompareWindSpeed(Day a, Day b) { return ( a.GetData(WIND_SPEED_CODE) < b.GetData(WIND_SPEED_CODE)? true : false); } bool (Month::*myFuncPtr)(Day, Day); myFuncPtr = &Month::CompareWindSpeed; m_windSpeedTree.Insert(dayReading, myFuncPtr); But because I am passing a bool (Day, Day) pointer to a templated class expecting bool (T, T) T being part of this .... template Error 1 error C2664: 'SpecialisedRedBlackTree<T>::Insert' : cannot convert parameter 2 from 'bool (__thiscall Month::* )(Day,Day)' to 'bool (__cdecl *)(T,T)' Any advice?

  Currently I have a SQL server column of type nvarchar(max) which has text that starts with <span class="escape_<<digits>>"></span> The only thing that varies in the pattern is the <<digits>> in the class name. The common part is <span class="myclass_ and the closing </span> Some sample values are <span class="myclass_12"></span> <span class="myclass_234"></span> <span class="myclass_4546"></span> These span text are present only at the beginning of the column. Any such matching span in the middle should not be removed or matched. Whats the SQL Server query with regex to remove all these occurances of span?

• Adding the text area input to a list with jquery

  I am making a shopping list app. When an item is added to the text input, it should be converted into a list item with a class of "tile" and added to the beginning of the list with a class of ".shopping_item_list".   Hi I'm trying to understand how to best implement a polymorphic one-to-many in hibernate. Eg: @MappedSuperclass public class BaseEntity { Integer id; // etc... } @Entity public class Author extends BaseEntity {} @Entity public class Post extends BaseEntity {} @Entity public class Comment extends BaseEntity {} And now, I'd like to also persist audit information, with the following class: @Entity public class AuditEvent { @ManyToOne // ? BaseEntity entity; } What is the appropriate mapping for auditEvent.entity? Also, how will Hibernate actually persist this? Would a series of join tables be generated (AuditEvent_Author , AuditEvent_Post, AuditEvent_Comment), or is there a better way? Note, I'd rather not have my other entity classes expose the other side of the join (eg., List<AuditEvent> events on BaseEntity) - but if that's the cleanest way to implement, then it will suffice.

For some of those classes, however, the insert() method must have additional parameters, so that they instead of overriding it I overload the method of the base class with the parameters required, for example: public class SampleClass extends BaseClass { public void insert(Object object, Long param){ // Do Something } } Now, if i instantiate the SampleClass class, i have two insert() methods: SampleClass sampleClass = new SampleClass(); sampleClass.insert(Object object); sampleClass.insert(Object object, Long param); what i'd like to do is to hide the insert() method defined in the base class, so that just the overload would be visible: SampleClass sampleClass = new SampleClass(); sampleClass.insert(Object object, Long param); Could this be done in OOP?

• Creating immutable objects from javabean

  Hi All, I am involved in this project where we are building on good bit of legacy code. I have a particular situation about one big java bean object which has to be transferred over wire. So my first thought was to make it immutable and serializable to do the trick .At this point I am faced with a few difficult choices :- 1 Ideally I want some way to automatically generate an immutable, serializable version of this class. I dont have the scope to refactor or alter this class in any way and i would really really hate to have to copy paste the class with a different name ?? 2 Assuming that i gave up on 1 i.e i actually chose to duplicate code of the HUGE javabean class , i still will be in the unsavoury situation of having to write a constructor with some 20-25 parameters to make this class immutable. what is a better way to make a class immutable other than constructor injection ?? I want to access chiComponent class public methods using com pointer. How should I go about it? Note that I am having to change the object which "com" is pointing to in a lot of places.   I am searching one student from each class from one group. There are different class groups and every group has different classes and every class has multiple students. See below: Group1 --> Class1, Class2 etc Class1 --> GreenStudent1, GreenStudent2 etc Class2 --> RedStudent1, RedStudent2 etc ------------------------------------------------------ SELECT table1.id, table1.myname, table1.marks table2.studentid, table2.studentname FROM table1 INNER JOIN table3 ON table1.oldid = table3.id INNER JOIN table2 ON table2.studentid = table3.newid WHERE table1.classgroup = 'SCI79' GROUP BY table1.oldid ORDER BY table1.marks DESC There are different joins applied in the query. Above mentioned query giving me correct results but I need little modification in it. Current query returning me one student from each class. What I need? I need one student from each class but only that student who has MAXIMUM table1.marks So I should have one student from each class who has maximum number in their relevant classes. Can anyone suggest some solution or rewrite this query? Thanks :)

• Form Submitting Incorrect Information to MySQL Database

  I've created a form that submits data to a MySQL database but the Date, Time, Year and Month fields constantly revert to the exact same date (1st January 1970) despite the fact that when I submit the information to the database the form displays the current date, time etc to me. I've already set it so that the time and date fields automatically display the current time and date. Could someone please help me with this.   i am using hibernate criterion for fetching results. Here with i provided demo design of my persistence class. Class A{ private B b; } Class B{ private C c; } Class C{ private Long val; } assume these are the hibernate persistence classes i am not writing all annotations of mapping with database. now my problem is i want to retrieve results of Class A according to the value of Class C's val property. i tried to fetch it using, Criteria c = Restrictions.eq("b.c.val", value); List l = c.list; it shows could not resolve property. i searched and came to know criteria wont work up to this much depth. i don't want shift to HQL. any idea??

  How awful is it - or is it perfectly acceptable - to index a loop on an enumeration? I have an enumeration defined. The values of the literals are default values. The assigned values do not have any significance, will not have any significance, and the values of any literals added in the future will also not have any significance. It's just defined to limit the allowed values and to make things easier to follow. Therefore the values will always start at 0 and increase by 1. Can I set up a loop like so: enum MyEnum { value1, value2, value3, maxValue } for(MyEnum i = value1; i < maxValue; i = static_cast<MyEnum>(i+1)){}

  I'm pretty proficient with PHP, outside of OOP - which I am just now starting to jump in to. I've been watching videos and reading tutorials, but they are all still pretty confusing... If I have FILE 1 (class.time.php) class Time { function GetTime(){ $time = date('H:i:s'); printf($time); } } and then in a nother php page I've got FILE 2 (page.php) I can do include('class.time.php'); and then anywhere in this page I can then do $time = new Time; //Calling the class and setting the class to a variable $time->GetTime(); //This is BASICALLY saying (run the 'GetTime' function in the 'Time Class' My main question is, is the comment above (This is BASICALLY saying.....) correct? or is there a better way to think of it?

• Create table with PHP and populate from MySQL

  Hi all, I am creating a table to display on a web page and that table is populated from data in a MySQL database. I am trying to do a couple of things that are making it difficult for me. First I am trying to have call the PHP code that exists in a separate file in HTML via JavaScript. I think I have that working right but I am not 100% sure (because the table will not display). I think it is working right because some of the code for the table (which is in the PHP file) displays in FireBug. Second I am trying to make it so the rows alternate colors for easy viewing too. My PHP code so far is below. I was trying to add line AUTH_PROFILE_MODULE = 'content.UserProfile' to my settings.py but with no effect. How to tell panel admin to know how to correctly display fields in user form?

• How do you pass self to class_eval in ruby?

  I'm working on a metaprogramming task, where I'm trying to use a single method to define a polymorphic association in the calling class, while also defining the association in the target class. I need to pass in the name of the calling class to get the association right. Here's a snippet that should get the idea across: class SomeClass < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :join_models, :dependent=:destroy end class JoinModel < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :some_class belongs_to :entity, :polymorphic=true end module Foo module ClassMethods def acts_as_entity has_many :join_models, :as=:entity, :dependent=:destroy has_many :some_classes, :through=:join_models klass = self.name.tableize SomeClass.class_eval "has_many :#{klass}, :through=:join_models" end end end I'd like to eliminate the klass= line, but don't know how else to pass a reference to self from the calling class into class_eval. any suggestions?
