    JPEG is a lossy compression scheme, so decompression-manipulation-recompression normally reduces the image quality further for each step. Is it possible to rotate a JPEG image without incurring further loss? From what little I know of the JPEG algorithm, it naively seems possible to avoid further loss with a bit of effort. Which common image manipulation programs (e.g. GIMP, Paint Shop Pro, Windows Photo Gallery) and graphic libraries cause quality loss when performing a rotation and which don't?

  • Linking win32 dll in Qt

    Hi, I want to reference a win32 dll from my Qt application. I've added the dll location in the .pro file at "LIBS+=" . Once that is done, by right, i should be able to include the .h file inside the dll from my application. But i'm unable to do so.     Hi recently I finished my WM6 Pro.6.1 application and happily learned that to put it into marketplace, it has to pass some tests. -Application Verifier -Microsoft Hopper Test Tool for Windows Mobile 6.0, 6.1, and 6.5 I use VS 2008 and windows mobile 6.1 and I couldnt run none of these tests, Hopeer tool has a FocusApp c++ application which I must build and run before testing, but its a VS 2005 project and I couldnt run it on VS 200..and without it I can't test anything. any ideas how can I build that for VS2008?

    How would I be able to programmatically search and replace some text in a large number of PDF files? I would like to remove a URL that has been added to a set of files. I have been able to remove the link using javascript under Batch Processing in Adobe Pro, but the link text remains. I have seen recommendations to use text touchup, which works manually, but I don't want to modify 1300 files manually.

After spending a fortune on Visual Studio Team Suite you would think you would get a full featured obfuscator for free. Now I have to spend another couple K for a PreEmptive Dotobfuscator license. What gives? What full featured (free) obfuscator do you all use?

    Hello guys, I've installed MAMP on my MacBook PRO Leopard OS. Phpmyadmin is working fine but I would like to use the terminal or bash to practice MySQL. I seem to have a problem with it. When I say: "mysql -h localhost -u root -p" / "mysql -h localhost -u root", it gives the following error. Build and Configure a Standalone Likewise-CIFS Server This section demonstrates how to build and configure a standalone instance of Likewise-CIFS from the command line. This procedure also assumes you know how to build Linux applications from their source code and then install them. Download Likewise-CIFS from its open source git location: $ git clone git://git.likewiseopen.org/ Download, build, and install the following tools. The tools listed are known to work, but earlier or later versions might work as well. For 12.04, version 6.1 is the only one available and it doesn't appear to have the srvsvc module mentioned in these instructions. Is CIFS support dropped in the 6.1 version of likewise-open?

I can't find anything online about this. I found a single entry for the error message in Google, and it was a swedish (or some other nordic language site) that didn't have an answer to the question. I've tried connecting through both USB and Bluetooth tethering to the iPhone, and they both return the exact same results. I don't have direct control over the firewall, but if changes are necessary to make it work, I may be able to get the powers-that-be to make adjustments. A solution that doesn't require reconfiguring the firewall would be far better of course... Does anyone know what I can do to make this behave? Thanks, Dan
