• Android XML Preference issue. Can't make it persistent

The value is still there. But that's it... if I click the Back button, and enter the again on the preferences screen, I already lost what was written. If you exit the application also doesn't save.   I am trying to insert data into a SQL Server database by calling a stored procedure, but I am getting the error Procedure or function 'SHOWuser' expects parameter '@userID', which was not supplied. My stored procedure is called "SHOWuser". I have checked it thoroughly and no parameters is missing. • Question about SharedPreferences

  I am looking an android Shared Preferences and I am wondering is there a way to just check if the preferences file exists. SharedPreferences mySharedPreferences ; mySharedPreferences=getSharedPreferences(“Name_of_your_preference”,mode); This above code leads me to believe that "Name_of_Your_preferene" is stored as a file or some sort of container that will contain your preferences. I am wondering is there away to check if this exists or not. When a user loads up an activity I want to save all the settings into this file with some default values(off for all settings). However I only want to do this if they are going to the page for the first time. Otherwise if I would do something like this every time the page loads up SharedPreferences.Editor editor= mySharedPreferences.edit(); /* now store your primitive type values. In this case it is true, 1f and Hello! World */ editor.putBolean(“myBoolean”,true); editor.putFloat(“myFloat”,1f); editor.putString(“myString”,” Hello! World”); I am guessing it would override all settings even ones they set.

  Before asking a separate question I've done lots of googling about it and added a comment in the already existing stackoverflow question. I have a SignalR Hub (tried both v. 1.1.3 and 2.0.0-rc) in my server with the below code: [HubName("TestHub")] public class TestHub : Hub { [Authorize] public void TestMethod(string test) { //some stuff here Clients.Caller.NotifyOnTestCompleted(); } } The problem persists if I remove the Authorize attribute. I'm using standard forms authentication with asp.net membership. Since .NET 4.0 however, running a client of the service in the Visual Studio debugger results in the exception "Inheritance security rules violated by type: '(my subtype of ValidationAttribute)'. Derived types must either match the security accessibility of the base type or be less accessible." • Enable Proxy Authentication for normal windows application.

  my company's internet works on proxy server with Authentication(i.e. Browser prompts with window for username/password everytime i tried to access any web page). Now i have some windows application which tries to access internet(like WebPI/Visual Studio 2008 for rss feeds), but as they are unable to popup the the authentication window, they are unable to connect with internet with error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required . Here the exception is VS2008, first time it always fails to load rss feeds on startup page, but when i click on the link, it shows authentication window and everything works fine after that. my question is: How can i configure normal windows application(through app.config/app.manifest file) accessing web to able to show the authentication window or provide default credentials. For explore this furthor, i have created one console application on VS2008 which tries to serach something on google and display the result on console. What Type does "EventHandler need to be to cast to a type that AddHandler can accept? Thanks for your help!

Are there any other advantages, performance or otherwise, to using System.DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher vs. System.DirectoryServices.Protocols.SearchRequest for LDAP queries from .NET. What criteria would cause you to use one approach over the other?
