  • Visual Studio 2005 - Debugger stopped working.

    More fun and pain with Visual Studio. Visual Studio 2005. About two months ago, I started an assignment. In my role, I cannot install or configure development software. Trust me this has given me plenty of heartburn. No IIS is involved here, just File Sharing. That being said, when I first started I had a problem with my debugger not working. The debugger just stopped. I was able to get it working. Now the problem has returned and I am pulling every last hair on my head. Almost none of my symbols loads. It can't find the PDB files. In Debugger options, I checked the Symbol section. My symbol file location entry is completely blank. ? I don't know why. I did not touch this prior to the problem occurring. I have cleared the Temporary ASP.NET folders. In my GAC, I can see this version of WebDev.WebHost.dll for example: ProcessArchitecture(x86) Public key token matches: b03f5f7f11d50a3a 8.0.50727.42 I then see some custom dlls. I should note, I created a new project. Recreated my files manually by importing them. The debugger worked 5 times and died. I'm at a loss of what to do next? The obvious has been checked: The project is set to Debug Configuration Manager Configuration Debug Platform .NET Build : checked. Web.Config: I have attempted to manually attach to the Webdev process from the Debug window and that doesn't work. I have googled this and this problem seems to occur quite a bit.

  • Uninstall exceptions in InstallShield

    Hello, I have a setup project with InstallShield 2010. I'm deploying a configuration file during installation. However, when uninstalled, InstallShield decides to delete it (which is normal). The question is, is there a way to keep the file on the hard disk even after the application in uninstalled? I don't want to reconfigure the application every time the user uninstalls/installs. Edit: I'm using MSI project.

    Hi, I got the following error of Oracle, ORA-25226: dequeue failed, queue string.string is not enabled for dequeue And the following is the Cause and Action for it from the official document: Cause: The queue has not been enabled for dequeue. Action: Enable the queue using START_QUEUE. But this error occurs every time when restart the database, is there any configuration to set to start the dequeue on database startup? thanks!

My problem is that I'm using two dispatcher servlets, one for /csm/*.html and another one for *.html and I'd like to have one spring security configuration file per servlet. And, I am trying to host these services under Windows Service. Can anyone please guide me if App.config in Windows Service will be same as the one in WCF Library?     I'm building a Windows Service app that has configuration data stored in App.Config. However, I noticed that when I build my application a AppName.Exe.Config is generated. Can someone tell me the relationship between these two files? Is the AppName.Exe.Config file what I install with my Windows Service app, instead of the app.config? Thanks - Randy

  • Are there reasons why the java/spring/hibernate stack aren't popular in the web 2.0 space?

    I am really impressed with the java/spring/hibernate stack, and really want to dive in. Just curious, why are so many people using rails when java/spring/hibernate are tried and true? I guesss its because of the convention over configuration and time to launch? (spring has really gone the annotation route so less xml though). I realize this is subjective, but just looking for some thoughts on this.

    I have an server (available via ssh) on the internet that my friend and I use for working on projects together. We have started using git for source control. Our setup currently is as follows: Friend created repository on server with git init named project.friend.git I cloned project.friend.git on server to project.jesse.git I then cloned project.jesse.git on server to my local machine using git clone jesse@server:/git_repos/project.jesse.git I work on my local machine and commit to the local machine. When I want to push my changes to the project.jesse.git on server I use git push origin master. My friend is working on project.friend.git. When I want to get his changes I do pull jesse@server:/git_repos/project.friend.git. Everything seems to be working fine, however, I am now getting the following error when I do git push origin master: localpc:project.jesse jesse$ git push origin master Counting objects: 100, done.   • Starting inets/httpd with custom application

    I've got a module that I'm attempting to turn into a proper OTP application. Currently, the module has start/0 which starts a genserver which supplies configuration data read from a config file. It then calls inets:start(httpd,config:lookup(httpd_conf)). I gather that I need to move the starting of these out into the .app file's (application list) but I'm not sure how to get my config data into the inets:start function (or pass in httpd)?     Hi, I'm using a very lovely and simple plugin called jFlow that gives me a basic content slider etc. However, I can see no documentation or help on how to get two (or more) on one page at the same time working seperately from one another.
