• SMS war continues, ideas welcome

  I am trying to make U9 telit modem send SMS messages. I think I handle protocol correctly, at least, I manage to send them, but only under these circumstances: the native application was executed beforehand, and killed by task manager (without giving it a chance to initialize things). It looks like the supplied application is good at doing certain initialization/deinitialization which is critical. I also see the difference between the two states in output of AT+CIND command. When I am trying to do things on my own, it returns zeroes (including signal quality), but when I run the same command after killing the native application, the output looks reasonable. I am out nearly of ideas. I have tried many things, including attempts to spy at modem's COM ports (didn't work). Haven't tried setting windows hooks to see what the application is trying to get thru. Perhaps you have encountered a similar situation?

  Hello, I have a C# WinForms app that I use to create software patches for my app. In noticed that Babel .Net includes Babel.Build.dll and Babel.Code.dll Is there a way, in my C# code, I can call Babel .Net something like: ExecuteCommand(C:\Program Files\Babel\babel.exe "C:\Patch\v6\Demo\Bin\Lib.dll" --rules "C:\Patch\babelRules.xml", 600) Here's a common script to execute a CMD prompt in C#. • Unable to install Maven: "JAVA_HOME is set to an invalid directory"

  I followed the Maven tutorial to the letter but I still can't get Maven installed. When I run the following in command prompt: E:\Documents and Settings\zach>mvn --version I get: 'mvn' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I navigated to the maven install folder and ran mvn --version and got: E:\java resources\apache-maven-2.2.0\bin>mvn --version ERROR: JAVA_HOME is set to an invalid directory. JAVA_HOME = "E:\Sun\SDK\jdk\bin" Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the location of your Java installation but when I run java -version I get: java version "1.6.0_14" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode) So I do have Java installed. Anyone know what the problem is?

• How do I launch a subprocess in C# with an argv? (Or convert agrv to a legal arg string)

  I have a C# command-line application that I need to run in windows and under mono in unix. At some point I want to launch a subprocess given a set of arbitrary paramaters passed in via the command line. For instance: Usage: mycommandline [-args] -- [arbitrary program] Unfortunately, System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo only takes a string for args. This is a problem for commands such as: ./my_commandline myarg1 myarg2 -- grep "a b c" foo.txt In this case argv looks like : argv = {"my_commandline", "myarg1", "myarg2", "--", "grep", "a b c", "foo.txt"} Note that the quotes around "a b c" are stripped by the shell so if I simply concatenate the arguments in order to create the arg string for ProcessStartInfo I get: args = "my_commandline myarg1 myarg2 -- grep a b c foo.txt" Which is not what I want. Is there a simple way to either pass an argv to subprocess launch under C# OR to convert an arbitrary argv into a string which is legal for windows and linux shell? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I am look for a server side PDF library (or command line tool) which can: split a multi-page PDF file into individual PDF files, based on a search result of the PDF file content Examples: Search "Page ???" pattern in text and split the big PDF into 001.pdf, 002,pdf, ... ???.pdf A server program will scan the PDF, look for the search pattern, save the page(s) which match the patten, and save the file in the disk. It will be nice with integration with PHP / Ruby. Command line tool is also acceptable. It will be a server side (linux or win32) batch processing tool. • PHP: prevent invocation of method X from from context != Y

  This is a tricky one. I am "emulating" ZF Bootstrapping (surface appearance). Don't ask me why, call it academic interest. So I have a Bootstrap Abstract with a method "run" that iterates over itself to locate any methods prefixed with "init". The application looks for a user defined class which extends this class, in which the user can define any number of methods in this way. However, I want to prevent the user from being able to execute the "run" command of it's parent class, while still exposing the same command for the client code. Anyone got any thoughts/advice/guidance? regards SWK

  I've written a small console application that can perform certain tasks. The user interface is similar to things like version control systems or yum etc. So basically you can think of it as a domain specific language. Now I'd like to write a (bash like) shell that can execute and auto-complete this language and has a command history (so I do not have to load and save the quite large xml files on each command). In a nutshell I want something like ipython but not for executing python code but my own DSL. Are there any libraries that help me doing this? I see that there is a readline and rlcompleter module in python but its documentation seems to indicate that this is only for use with the python shell itself, or did I miss something there?

• Onclick not firing

  I have a set of buttons on my master page (I have attached the code below) but no onclick event is being raised. I pulled the final page source and no onclick event was present. As you can see I tried a few different approaches to solve the problem. I am looking for a normal postback to the server but I am getting nothing when I click any of these buttons. • How to use pom.xml/Maven to initialize a local thoughtsite (App Engine sample) project in Eclipse?

  This sample app ("thoughtsite") for App Engine contains a pom.xml in its trunk: http://code.google.com/p/thoughtsite/source/browse/#svn/trunk But I don't know what command to run in Maven to set up the project locally. (The README doesn't mention anything about Maven.) I tried to just import the project code directly into Eclipse but it doesn't look like it's in an appropriate format for a direct import. So I assume I need to do something with Maven to get it set up correctly. I haven't really used Maven before so I'm not sure what command I would need to run to set everything up. The pom.xml seems like it downloads a bunch of dependencies for the project like the Spring jar files which I don't see anywhere else in the svn repository.

• Bulk stop watching tickets on Lighthouse?

  Via the Lighthouse user interface, is there any way to bulk stop watching tickets? I have more than 150 tickets on a project I want to stop watching, and would just as soon not go into each and every one of them. I thought the bulk edit command might work, but there doesn't appear to be a watch keyword in the bulk edit stuff (which is fair enough, I'm not really editing the tickets). When I go to my profile, I can subscribe or unsubscribe to an entire project, but I'm not seeing a way to do this at the (bulk) ticket level. Looking at a list of the tickets I'm watching, I'm not seeing a way to do anything to all of them (other than the bulk edit command of course). Is there something I'm missing?

I saved and quit. I am again launching that application using the same command. thinapplaunch aumix Now all the changes I made is still there. All the volumes are full.   There are lots of questions that ask this or a similar question. They all give the command that has to be executed, what I don't understand is where do I write this command. I want to permanently increase the heap space for my tomcat apps. I read this page http://javahowto.blogspot.com/2006/06/6-common-errors-in-setting-java-heap.html and it says under the Tomcat section Stop Tomcat server, set environment variable CATALINA_OPTS, and then restart Tomcat. Look at the file tomcat-install/bin/catalina.sh or catalina.bat for how this variable is used. For example, set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m (Windows, no "" around the value) export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (ksh/bash, "" around the value) setenv CATALINA_OPTS "-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (tcsh/csh, "" around the value) So I replaced the line set CATALINA_OPTS= with set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m But I still get the error.

• Attach Console to Service

  I currently have a WCF Service Library which will be started through a Console Application acting as ServiceHost. The ServiceHost starts the service and then waits with Console.ReadLine() for the "quit" command. If i do "Console.WriteLine();" in the service this will be printed to the ServiceHosts Console of course. The Service prints some information when the clients connect for example. Is it possible to have the ServiceHost converted to a real Windows Service (to start up when the machine boots without console window) and attach or detach a command prompt (cmd.exe) or another Console Application to it when needed? For example if I want so see which clients connect from now on? Thanks in advance!

  Idlestartup is analogous to pythonstartup variable, but for IDLE, instead of command line. But it seems not to work properly. I'm using python 2.6.5 on Windows. I have the following script assigned to it: from pprint import pprint import sys newPath = 'C:\\Python26\test') sys.path.append(newPath) print "initial config loaded" Both variables Idlestartup and pythonstartup are assigned to the same file (script above). When running IDLE, pprint and sys are NOT available, the final message is NOT printed, but newPath was added to sys.path. • Cannot execute "LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE" Mysql query in Rails after a connection reconnection

  On Rails 2.3.8 (but I think Rails 3 might have this issue as well, not sure): I get an error when trying to execute a LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE query after reconnecting to a database. I have a process that parses a file that can potentially take a bit of time. During the parsing, Mysql closes the connection due to timeout. This is fine, I do a ActiveRecord::Base.verify_active_connections! and I get the connection back (I do this in several places through my app). However, running a LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE statement, I get this error: Mysql::Error: The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version It's not a permission issue, I know that for sure. • msysGit: Why does git log output blank lines?

  It appears to insert less blank lines the closer I type the command to the bottom of the terminal window. If I type it at the top of the terminal window, it inserts nearly a full window height of blank lines; if I type it at the very bottom, no blank lines are inserted. It seems like the pager program is pushing output to the bottom of the terminal window, but I want the output to be right below my command or at the top, like in Linux git. I can get expected behavior by using git --no-pager log, but what if I want to use a pager?

E.g. one telling how many minutes/hours are left giving at least some kind of estimate 2) How does ZODB packing affect the responsivity of the site? Are all transactions blocked? 3) Any command line scripts with progress indicator available so you could do this from a ZEO command line client? 4) At least some kind of log markers to logout output... • How can I use the same buildscript for Flash Builder 4 and Ant/Mvn?

  I'm setting up a build system for a Flash Builder 4 (Flex 4) based project; and I'm struggling to get a setup that compiles in the IDE the same as it does from the command line on the build server. I come from a C# background; and my expectation is that I'll be able to create a "solution" with a collection of "projects" that I can compile from the IDE, or from the command line on the build server. The best I've managed sofar is 2 separate build "scripts", a custom ant script for the build server, and the default Flash Builder IDE config based on a workspace; but this is making my DRY daemons jump around in fury. Please can someone point me in the right direction :)
