    Possible Duplicate: Mount ext2/ext3 in Mac OS X Snow Leopard I have a 1tb hard drive, I want it to have one partition that can serve as an interchange between linux (ubuntu) and mac (snow leopard). HFS+ scares me a bit, and I can't seem to get a clear picture on whether or not something like fuse can reliably write ext3 partitions in mac. Any good advice on this topic? Should I just pick HFS+ or ext3 and hope for the best (or just deal with only getting read-only on one OS)?

    I want to copy a link in Google without opening that link and without the "Google stuff".     Possible Duplicate: How to Deploy an ASP.NET Web API- and Browser-based Application to a Production Environment We have an ASP.NET Web API server that serves up a SQL Server data driven website. The API uses JSON to transfer data from SQL Server to the front end. We need to move it to an internal production environment (nothing will be exposed on the public Internet) and we’re having problems - or just not understanding what needs to be done. There are two domains: The corporate domain - where all users login normally. The process domain - contains the database the Web API needs to access. The IT staff wants to put a DMZ between the two domains to house the IIS app and shield the users on the corporate domain from having access into the process domain directly. The ideal configuration is: corp domain (end users) <–> firewall (open port 80) <–> DMZ (web server running IIS) <–> firewall (open port 80 or 1433????) <–> process domain (IIS for Web API and SQL Server) We don’t really understand how to deploy our browser/Web API application in this scenario. Do we need to break up our application so that all the client code is on the IIS server in the DMZ, while the Web API gets installed on the server in the process domain? Does the entire app (client code and Web API) stay together on the IIS server in the DMZ, which then somehow accesses the SQL Server instance to get data? From the IIS server and app in the DMZ, would you simply access the Web API on the server in the process domain by going to http://server/appname/api/getitmes? In the second firewall between the DMZ and the process domain, would you have to open port 1433 or just port 80 since the Web API is a HTTP endpoint? Or, is there some better way of deployment (i.e., how ASP.NET Web API single page applications written all in HTML5 and JavaScript supposed to be deployed to production environments?)? NB: The servers are Win2k8 R2, SQL Server 2k8 R2, and IIS 7.5.

    I use Yahoo UI with Grails (so grailsui) and I try to upload a file with Ajax and get a JSON response from the server : The response is correctly returned by my controller but a popup is displayed to save the file but it's not a file it's a JSON result. My Yahoo Code is : callback = { success: function(o){alert('success');}, failure: function(o){alert('failure');} } YAHOO.util.Connect.asyncRequest('POST', '/my/url', callback); The http response is the JSON result. What's hell is wrong ? Why does I have dialog box to download the file ? Thanks a lot.

  • Want to send my neighbors to a certain website via DNS, but don't have a clue how. [closed]

    My neighbors have an unsecured WIFI router, and over the administration web-UI of the router I could log in as there was no password set. I don't know which of my neighbors these are, and I'd like to configure their router in a way that they come to my website instead of Google and Facebook, where I set up a warning in german. It this page: http://www.abelssoft.de/liebenachbarn/ Basically, I just want to see if and how this is possible - I'm aware that I could just set the WiFi-password and have them call their network provider to reset the thing, but I really want to see if this could work, because it would be a way cooler effect :-). So this router interface doesn't allow custom redirects, only filters. BUT I can set the DNS that is used, so I thought there might be the possibility to set up a custom DNS on a server, set it as the main DNS and redirect from Google to the URL above. Is this possible? If so, please try to detail a way that I have to go though to achive this. Note that I'm not the super-Linux-skilled person, I have a dyndns account and a Windows machine it points to as well as an Apache+Tomcat if that helps. I could also set up virtual machines on the windows server and redirect to those using a different port. Or is there maybe a webservice that provides such custom DNS?

  • Windows shutting down, CPU maxing out in Windows-7 32-bit? [closed]

    I have no idea, what is happening to my laptop. For last 5-6 times it has automatically shutdown while running, without doing anything serious. And I even do get the message during boot which says - Start windows normal - Start in safe mode It just boots up normal. Few days ago, my screen blinked and it the PC shutdown immediately. After that I was not able to get it started. I got it repaired, the guy said he has replaced the display chip (nVidia-nvs-140), but i seriously doubt that. Now it started working, but would shutdown every 20 mins or so. I have a dual boot, ubuntu-11.10 works just fine. Virus scan on windows shows nothing. I am pasting my perfmon output. My CPU for reason is maxing out to 100% continously, for windows internal processes. Please have a look at the attached file. Strangly now for last 2 hours it is working fine, but i am just writing emails and reading excels. ThinkPad T61 | t9300 | 3gb | nVidia 140 nvs-quadro (latest driver 296.10) What do you suggest?

This is different from Can I use my laptop as a second monitor for my desk computer?, because that question is asking how to use the laptop screen as the secondary display, not as the only display. My PC's monitor just died and I'm not looking at buying a new monitor anytime soon. So I'm thinking of using my laptop's monitor for it. Both machines are running on Fedora linux. Edit: Both machines are connected to the same wireless network. PC needs to log in before it can connect to the network if I'm not mistaken.

    This community wiki is for determining a list of good mobile phone choices if you are "nerdy" (definition follows.) As a point of reference, the almost two years old N95 8GB will be used. Mostly because that's what I can most relate to since I've had it since it came out. Today, iPhone and other modern mobile phones really out-shine it in usability and interface. However, it still does everything I want it to do (and here's the definition of "nerdy"; modify as needed): Syncs contacts, calendar, tasks and mail in the background Can run multiple installable applications in the background (Google Maps with Latitude, for example) Good amount of space for music etc. Lets you develop your own little toy applications (Python; not to mention it can also run an Apache server with a public URL!) Tethering! Supports Flash (maybe not very important, but it has its uses) Has a manufacturer that believes in the nerdiness! (The people at Nokia Labs make lots of cool stuff and share early versions with the community and are generally open) A high resolution screen (at least 320x240) Special hardware features such as an accelerometer and GPS What's missing from the N95 8GB but still qualifies as good, "nerdy", qualities: 7.2 Mbit/s (or faster) internet through HSDPA or HSPA+. A good web browser that can do most of the stuff a desktop browser can (especially render sites properly and run JavaScript correctly) Touch (especially multi-touch) More special hardware features such as a compass Intuitive and fluent user interface (Shiny stuff) Ability to configure it to trust root certificates of my own choice A processor fast enough to run Quake 3! =)

    I have an e-mail address for a domain I own. [email protected] I am redirecting all mail sent to this address over to my main Gmail account automatically. In Gmail, I've added the [email protected] account so I can send and receive mail from it. Problem: The "from" field on all the e-mails this address sends always says "info". I want it to say "Domain.com" so recipients can know where it's coming from. How do I change this? I've looked in gmail but can't seem to spot a setting that controls this.
