Here is the exact error I'm getting when I try to launch my default.aspx file from the published folder. Can anybody point me in the right direction? The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. How to run WordPress and Java web app running on Tomcat on the same server?

I have to run a WordPress site served via Apache2 & Java-based webapp using Tomcat on the same server. When users come to example.com or example.com/public-pages they need to served from WordPress but when they come to example.com/private-pages they need to be served from the Tomcat. I have asked this question on serverfault where they suggested using different port, different IP & sub-domain. I want to go for different port solution since it will mean I need to buy only one SSL certificate. I tried doing the reverse proxy method by having the following in my default-ssl.conf <VirtualHost _default_:443> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost ServerName localhost:443 DocumentRoot /var/www <Directory /var/www> #For Wordpress Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> <Proxy *> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyRequests Off ProxyPass /private-pages ajp://localhost:8009/ ProxyPassReverse /private-pages ajp://localhost:8009/ SSLEngine on SSLProxyEngine On SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl/apache.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/ssl/apache.key </VirtualHost> As you have noticed I am using mod_proxy_ajp in Apache2 for this. And that my Tomcat is listening to port 8009 and then serving content. So now when I go to example.com/private-pages I am seeing the content from my Tomcat. But 2 issues are happening. All my static resources are getting 404-ed, so none of my images, CSS, js are getting loaded. I see that the browser is requesting for the resources using URL example.com/css/* This will clearly not work because it translates to example.com:80/css/* instead of example.com:8009/css/* & there are no such resources in the WordPress directory. If I go to example.com/private-pages/abcd I am somehow kicked to the WordPress site (which obviously displays a 404 page). I can understand why #1 is happening but have no clue why the #2 is happening. Regardless, if there is another clean solution for resolving this, I would appreciate y'alls help.

WordPress not resizing images with Nginx + php-fpm and other issues

Recently i setup a Ubuntu 12.04 VPS with 512mb/1ghz CPU, Nginx + php-fpm + Varnish + APC + Percona's MySQL server + CloudFlare Pro for our Ubuntu LoCo Team's WordPress blog. The blog get about 3~4k daily hits, use about 180MB and 8~20% CPU. Everything seems to be working insanely fast... page load is really good and is about 16x faster than any of our competitors... but there is one problem. When we upload a image, WordPress don't resize it, so all we can do it insert the full image in the post. If the imagem have, let's say, 30kb, it resize fine... but if the image have 100kb+, it won't... In nginx error logs i see this: upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 150.162.216.64, server: www.ubuntubrsc.com, request: "POST /wp-admin/async-upload.php HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:", host: "www.ubuntubrsc.com", referrer: "http://www.ubuntubrsc.com/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=2668&" It seems to be related with the issue, but i dunno. Unusual Caching Issue with IE 7/8 and IIS 7

We recently moved a site into production running Server 2008 x64 and IIS 7. The ASP.NET pages apparently load just fine, but when it comes to IE 7 and 8, a weird caching issue has cropped up with the CSS and JavaScript files on the page. On a very sporadic schedule, IE does not get all the files necessary to compose the page (i.e. CSS and JS files). When I manually go to the missing files from the address bar, they come back from local cache as empty. I F5 these source files and magically they come down properly. I refresh the site after loading a few files and the cache seems to hold. This problem has only been reproduced (again, sporadically) on IE 7 and 8 running XP. Chrome and Firefox appear to be immune. We have set IIS to use server-side kernel caching for CSS, JS and images. We also have set to expire content for the App_Themes and Scripts directories to expire immediately. One initial thought it was a SWF loading an FLV on page load. These fixes have not remedied the problem. We had no problems on our staging server which is using Server 2003 and IIS 6. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Installing GitHub for Mac - "Github cannot be opened because of a probem"

I'm trying to get started using Git for Mac, but I receive an error when I try to run the program. I'm new to GitHub and relatively new to Mac. First, I installed Git using the downloadable .dmg file named "git-1.7.12.3-intel-universal-snow-leopard". I ran the .pkg file contained therein and the install seemed to work fine. I'm using a new macbook pro w/ retina. Then I downloaded the Github for Mac installer, "mac_GitHub for Mac 69.zip". When I double-click the file, it shows that there is a single file of type "Application". Double-clicking that application file produces the error: "GitHub cannot be opened because of a problem". Here are the partial details of that error: Application Specific Information: dyld: launch, loading dependent libraries Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/Rebel.framework/Rebel Referenced from: /Applications/GitHub.app/Contents/MacOS/GitHub Reason: no suitable image found. I have this weird issue on my Mac OS X 10.7.5 /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/include/python2.7/Python.h:33:10: fatal error: 'stdio.h' file not found What caused the above error? This error has been bugging me and i can't install mysql-python as i'm stuck with this step. I'm using Python 2.7.3. Things like Google App Engine ( python ), python script, tornado generally works on my mac. But not mysql-python. I've install MySQL using the dmg image and have copied the mysql folder to /usr/local/ How do i fix this? ======UPDATE====== I've ran the command, and tried to install mysql-python by running sudo python setup.py install. Reasonable automatic HTML to PDF conversion (in UNIX/Linux environment)

Is there a way to generate PDF documents from HTML files automatically in Linux where the PDF offers some kind of reasonable level of resemblance to the input file? A command-line tool - as opposed to an interactive GUI of some kind - is key. I have tried htmldoc and some related cousins, of course. But these tools are hopelessly stone-age; htmldoc doesn't support CSS at all. You won't find a lot of HTML documents these days that don't have at least some CSS styling. I don't really care about stupid effects or minor embellishments, but the issue is that CSS is at the core of most layouts these days; not many folks are using 6 layers of nested tables anymore. So, if the conversion tool has no grasp of CSS whatsoever, it's not just a matter of "the document doesn't look quite right"; it is likely to not meet the minimum standard of usability at all. It has been suggested to me by some folks to try to use the Gecko rendering engine to generate images that can be converted to PDFs, but I have no idea how one would go about doing this, let alone easily. I have no trouble believing that there are good commercial tools that do this, but I'm really looking for an open-source package if possible, as the endeavour itself is an open-source one and doesn't pay. Enabling CURL on Ubuntu 11.10

NGINX returning 404 error on a valid url

We have a site that runs PHP-FPM and NGINX. The application sends invitations to site members that are keyed with 40 character random strings (alphanumerics only -- example below). Today for the first time we ran into an issue with this approach. The following url: http://oursite.com/notices/response/approve/1960/OzH0pedV3rJhefFlMezDuoOQSomlUVdhJUliAhjS is returning a 404 error. This url format has been working for 6 months now without an issue, and other urls following this exact format continue to resolve properly. We have a very basic config with a simple redirect to a front controller, and everything else has been running fine for a while now. Also, if we change the last character from an "S" to anything other than a lower-case "s", no 404 error and the site handles the request properly, so I'm wondering if there's some security module that might see something wrong with this specific string... Not sure if that makes any sense. We are not sure where to look to find out what specifically is causing the issue, so any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Update: Adding a slash to the end of the url allowed it to be handled properly... Would still like to get to the bottom of the issue though. Solved: The problem was caused by part of my configuration... Realized I should have posted, but was headed out of town and didn't have a chance. Any url that ended in say "css" or "js" and not necessarily preceded by a dot (so, for example, http://site.com/response/somerandomestringcss ) was interpreted as a request for a file and the request was not routed through the front controller. The problem was my regex for disabling logging and setting expiration headers on jpgs, gifs, icos, etc. I replaced this: location ~* ^.+(jpg|jpeg|gif|css|png|js|ico)$ { with this: location ~* \.(jpg|jpeg|gif|css|png|js|ico)$ { And now urls ending in css, js, png, etc, are properly routed through the front controller. Hopefully that helps someone else out.

Apache RewriteEngine, redirect sub-directory to another script

I've been trying to achieve this since about 1.5 hours now. I want to have the following transformations when requesting sites on my website: homepage.com/ => index.php homepage.com/archive => index.php?archive homepage.com/archive/site-01 => index.php?archive/site-01 homepage.com/files/css/main.css => requestfile.php?css/main.css The first three transformations can be done by using the following: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/?$ index.php RewriteRule ^/?(.*)$ index.php?$1 However, I'm stuck at the point where all requests to the files subdirectory should be redirected to requestfile.php. This is one of the tries I've done: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/?$ index.php RewriteRule ^/?files/(.+)$ requestfile.php?$1 RewriteRule ^/?(.*)$ index.php?$1 But that does not work. I've also tried to put [L] after the third line, but that didn't help as I'm using this configuration in .htaccess and sub-requests will transform that URL again, etc. I fuzzed with the RewriteCond command but I couldn't get it to work. How needs the configuration to look like to achieve what I desire?
