  • convert an integer number into an array

    - by droseman
    Hi, I am trying to convert an integer number in C into an array containing each of that number's digits i.e. if I have int number = 5400 how can I get to int numberArray[4] where numberArray[0] = 0; numberArray[1] = 0; numberArray[2] = 4; numberArray[3] = 5; Any suggestions gratefully received --dave

  • Injection of class with multiple constructors

    - by Jax
    Resolving a class that has multiple constructors with NInject doesn't seem to work. public class Class1 : IClass { public Class1(int param) {...} public Class1(int param2, string param3) { .. } } the following doesn’t seem to work: IClass1 instance = IocContainer.Get<IClass>(With.Parameters.ConstructorArgument(“param”, 1)); The hook in the module is simple, and worked before I added the extra constructor: Bind().To(); Thanks in advance...

  • flip a 1bpp .bmp image horizontally

    - by user576844
    I am trying to write a program containing two source files: main program written in C and assembly(x86 32 and 64) module callable from C. The C declaration for the assembly routine looks like this: void mirrorbmp1(void *img, int width, int height) The task involves Mirror/flipping a 1 bpp .BMP image horizontally while Handling any image width properly, not only multiples of 8. I am new to assembly programming and have very little idea about how i should do the ask. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Getting rid of "static" references in C#

    - by DevEight
    Hello. I've recently begun learning C# but have encountered an annoying problem. Every variable I want available to all functions in my program I have to put a "static" in front of and also every function. What I'd like to know is how to avoid this, if possible? Also, small side question: creating public variables inside functions? This is what my program looks like right now, and I want to basically keep it like that, without having to add "static" everywhere: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Net; using System.Threading; using System.Net.Sockets; namespace NetworkExercise { class Client { public IPAddress addr; public int port; public string name; public Thread thread; public TcpClient tcp; public NetworkStream stream; public Client(IPAddress addr, int port, string name, NetworkStream stream) { } } class Program { //NETWORK TcpListener tcpListener; Thread listenThread; ASCIIEncoding encoder = new ASCIIEncoding(); //DATA byte[] buffer = new byte[4096]; string servIp; int servPort; //CLIENT MANAGEMENT int clientNum; static void Main(string[] args) { beginConnect(); } public void beginConnect() { Console.Write("Server IP (leave blank if you're the host): "); servIp = Console.ReadLine(); Console.Write("Port: "); servPort = Console.Read(); tcpListener = new TcpListener(IPAddress.Any, servPort); listenThread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(listenForClients)); listenThread.Start(); } public void listenForClients() { tcpListener.Start(); Console.WriteLine("Listening for clients..."); while (true) { Client cl = new Client(null, servPort, null, null); cl.tcp = tcpListener.AcceptTcpClient(); ThreadStart pts = delegate { handleClientCom(cl); }; cl.thread = new Thread(pts); cl.thread.Start(); } } public void handleClientCom(Client cl) { cl.stream = cl.tcp.GetStream(); } } }

  • Permanent mutex locking causing deadlock?

    - by Daniel
    I am having a problem with mutexes (pthread_mutex on Linux) where if a thread locks a mutex right again after unlocking it, another thread is not very successful getting a lock. I've attached test code where one mutex is created, along with two threads that in an endless loop lock the mutex, sleep for a while and unlock it again. The output I expect to see is "alive" messages from both threads, one from each (e.g. 121212121212. However what I get is that one threads gets the majority of locks (e.g. 111111222222222111111111 or just 1111111111111...). If I add a usleep(1) after the unlocking, everything works as expected. Apparently when the thread goes to SLEEP the other thread gets its lock - however this is not the way I was expecting it, as the other thread has already called pthread_mutex_lock. I suspect this is the way this is implemented, in that the actice thread has priority, however it causes certain problem in this particular testcase. Is there any way to prevent it (short of adding a deliberately large enough delay or some kind of signaling) or where is my error in understanding? #include <pthread.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <sys/time.h> #include <unistd.h> pthread_mutex_t mutex; void* threadFunction(void *id) { int count=0; while(true) { pthread_mutex_lock(&mutex); usleep(50*1000); pthread_mutex_unlock(&mutex); // usleep(1); ++count; if (count % 10 == 0) { printf("Thread %d alive\n", *(int*)id); count = 0; } } return 0; } int main() { // create one mutex pthread_mutexattr_t attr; pthread_mutexattr_init(&attr); pthread_mutex_init(&mutex, &attr); // create two threads pthread_t thread1; pthread_t thread2; pthread_attr_t attributes; pthread_attr_init(&attributes); int id1 = 1, id2 = 2; pthread_create(&thread1, &attributes, &threadFunction, &id1); pthread_create(&thread2, &attributes, &threadFunction, &id2); pthread_attr_destroy(&attributes); sleep(1000); return 0; }

  • xmlns='' was not expected when deserializing nested classes

    - by Mavrik
    I have a problem when attempting to serialize class on a server, send it to the client and deserialize is on the destination. On the server I have the following two classes: [XmlRoot("StatusUpdate")] public class GameStatusUpdate { public GameStatusUpdate() {} public GameStatusUpdate(Player[] players, Command command) { this.Players = players; this.Update = command; } [XmlArray("Players")] public Player[] Players { get; set; } [XmlElement("Command")] public Command Update { get; set; } } and [XmlRoot("Player")] public class Player { public Player() {} public Player(PlayerColors color) { Color = color; ... } [XmlAttribute("Color")] public PlayerColors Color { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("X")] public int X { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("Y")] public int Y { get; set; } } (The missing types are all enums). This generates the following XML on serialization: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <StatusUpdate> <Players> <Player Color="Cyan" X="67" Y="32" /> </Players> <Command>StartGame</Command> </StatusUpdate> On the client side, I'm attempting to deserialize that into following classes: [XmlRoot("StatusUpdate")] public class StatusUpdate { public StatusUpdate() { } [XmlArray("Players")] [XmlArrayItem("Player")] public PlayerInfo[] Players { get; set; } [XmlElement("Command")] public Command Update { get; set; } } and [XmlRoot("Player")] public class PlayerInfo { public PlayerInfo() { } [XmlAttribute("X")] public int X { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("Y")] public int Y { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("Color")] public PlayerColor Color { get; set; } } However, the deserializer throws an exception: There is an error in XML document (2, 2). <StatusUpdate xmlns=''> was not expected. What am I missing or doing wrong?

  • OpenGL, how to set a monochrome texture to a colored shape?

    - by Santiago
    I'm developing on Android with OpenGL ES, I draw some cubes and I change its colors with glColor4f. Now, what I want is to give a more realistic effect on the cubes, so I create a monochromatic 8bit depth, 64x64 pixel size PNG file. I loaded on a texture, and here is my problem, witch is the way to combine the color and the texture to get a colorized and textured cubes onto the screen? I'm not an expert on OpenGL, I tried this: On create: public void asignBitmap(GL10 gl, Bitmap bitmap) { int[] textures = new int[1]; gl.glGenTextures(1, textures, 0); mTexture = textures[0]; gl.glBindTexture(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTexture); gl.glTexParameterf(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL10.GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL10.GL_NEAREST); gl.glTexParameterf(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL10.GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL10.GL_LINEAR); gl.glTexParameterf(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL10.GL_TEXTURE_WRAP_S, GL10.GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE); gl.glTexParameterf(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL10.GL_TEXTURE_WRAP_T, GL10.GL_CLAMP_TO_EDGE); gl.glTexEnvf(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_ENV, GL10.GL_TEXTURE_ENV_MODE, GL10.GL_REPLACE); GLUtils.texImage2D(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL10.GL_ALPHA, bitmap, 0); ByteBuffer tbb = ByteBuffer.allocateDirect(texCoords.length * 4); tbb.order(ByteOrder.nativeOrder()); mTexBuffer = tbb.asFloatBuffer(); for (int i = 0; i < 48; i++) mTexBuffer.put(texCoords[i]); mTexBuffer.position(0); } And OnDraw: public void draw(GL10 gl, int alphawires) { gl.glColor4f(1.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f, 0.5f); //RED gl.glBindTexture(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D, mTexture); gl.glBlendFunc(GL10.GL_SRC_ALPHA, GL10.GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); gl.glEnable(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D); gl.glEnable(GL10.GL_BLEND); gl.glEnableClientState(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); gl.glTexCoordPointer(2, GL10.GL_FLOAT, 0, mTexBuffer); //Set the face rotation gl.glFrontFace(GL10.GL_CW); //Point to our buffers gl.glVertexPointer(3, GL10.GL_FLOAT, 0, vertexBuffer); //Enable the vertex and color state gl.glEnableClientState(GL10.GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); //Draw the vertices as triangles, based on the Index Buffer information gl.glDrawElements(GL10.GL_TRIANGLES, 36, GL10.GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, indexBuffer); //Disable the client state before leaving gl.glDisableClientState(GL10.GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); gl.glDisableClientState(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); gl.glDisable(GL10.GL_BLEND); gl.glDisable(GL10.GL_TEXTURE_2D); } I'm even not sure if I have to use a blend option, because I don't need transparency, but is a plus :)

  • Several client waiting for the same event

    - by ff8mania
    I'm developing a communication API to be used by a lot of generic clients to communicate with a proprietary system. This proprietary system exposes an API, and I use a particular classes to send and wait messages from this system: obviously the system alert me that a message is ready using an event. The event is named OnMessageArrived. My idea is to expose a simple SendSyncMessage(message) method that helps the user/client to simply send a message and the method returns the response. The client: using ( Communicator c = new Communicator() ) { response = c.SendSync(message); } The communicator class is done in this way: public class Communicator : IDisposable { // Proprietary system object ExternalSystem c; String currentRespone; Guid currentGUID; private readonly ManualResetEvent _manualResetEvent; private ManualResetEvent _manualResetEvent2; String systemName = "system"; String ServerName = "server"; public Communicator() { _manualResetEvent = new ManualResetEvent(false); //This methods are from the proprietary system API c = SystemInstance.CreateInstance(); c.Connect(systemName , ServerName); } private void ConnectionStarter( object data ) { c.OnMessageArrivedEvent += c_OnMessageArrivedEvent; _manualResetEvent.WaitOne(); c.OnMessageArrivedEvent-= c_OnMessageArrivedEvent; } public String SendSync( String Message ) { Thread _internalThread = new Thread(ConnectionStarter); _internalThread.Start(c); _manualResetEvent2 = new ManualResetEvent(false); String toRet; int messageID; currentGUID = Guid.NewGuid(); c.SendMessage(Message, "Request", currentGUID.ToString()); _manualResetEvent2.WaitOne(); toRet = currentRespone; return toRet; } void c_OnMessageArrivedEvent( int Id, string root, string guid, int TimeOut, out int ReturnCode ) { if ( !guid.Equals(currentGUID.ToString()) ) { _manualResetEvent2.Set(); ReturnCode = 0; return; } object newMessage; c.FetchMessage(Id, 7, out newMessage); currentRespone = newMessage.ToString(); ReturnCode = 0; _manualResetEvent2.Set(); } } I'm really noob in using waithandle, but my idea was to create an instance that sends the message and waits for an event. As soon as the event arrived, checks if the message is the one I expect (checking the unique guid), otherwise continues to wait for the next event. This because could be (and usually is in this way) a lot of clients working concurrently, and I want them to work parallel. As I implemented my stuff, at the moment if I run client 1, client 2 and client 3, client 2 starts sending message as soon as client 1 has finished, and client 3 as client 2 has finished: not what I'm trying to do. Can you help me to fix my code and get my target? Thanks!

  • Problem in suspending 2 threads at the same time in MFC!

    - by kiddo
    I am learning about threading and multithreading..so i just created a small application in which i will update the progressbar and a static text using threading.I vl get two inputs from the user, start and end values for how long the loop should rotate.I have 2threads in my application. Thread1- to update the progressbar(according to the loop) the static text which will show the count(loop count). Thread2 - to update the another static text which will just diplay a name Basically if the user clicks start, the progressbar steps up and at the same time filecount and the name are displayed parallely. There's is another operation where if the user clicks pause it(thread) has to suspend until the user clicks resume. The problem is,the above will not work(will not suspend and resume) for both thread..but works for a singlw thread. Please check the code to get an idea and reply me what can done! on button click start void CThreadingEx3Dlg::OnBnClickedStart() { m_ProgressBar.SetRange(start,end); myThread1 = AfxBeginThread((AFX_THREADPROC)MyThreadFunction1,this); myThread2 = AfxBeginThread((AFX_THREADPROC)MyThreadFunction2,this); } thread1 UINT MyThreadFunction1(LPARAM lparam) { CThreadingEx3Dlg* pthis = (CThreadingEx3Dlg*)lparam; for(int intvalue =pthis->start;intvalue<=pthis->end; ++intvalue) { pthis->SendMessage(WM_MY_THREAD_MESSAGE1,intvalue); } return 0; } thread1 function LRESULT CThreadingEx3Dlg::OnThreadMessage1(WPARAM wparam,LPARAM lparam) { int nProgress= (int)wparam; m_ProgressBar.SetPos(nProgress); CString strStatus; strStatus.Format(L"Thread1:Processing item: %d", nProgress); m_Static.SetWindowText(strStatus); Sleep(100); return 0; } thread2 UINT MyThreadFunction2(LPARAM lparam) { CThreadingEx3Dlg* pthis = (CThreadingEx3Dlg*)lparam; for(int i =pthis->start;i<=pthis->end;i++) { pthis->SendMessage(WM_MY_THREAD_MESSAGE2,i); } return 0; } thread2 function LRESULT CThreadingEx3Dlg::OnThreadMessage2(WPARAM wparam,LPARAM lparam) { m_Static1.GetDlgItem(IDC_STATIC6); m_Static1.SetWindowTextW(L"Thread2 Running"); Sleep(100); m_Static1.SetWindowTextW(L""); Sleep(100); return TRUE; } void CThreadingEx3Dlg::OnBnClickedPause() { // TODO: Add your control notification handler code here if(!m_Track) { m_Track = TRUE; GetDlgItem(IDCANCEL)->SetWindowTextW(L"Resume"); myThread1->SuspendThread(); WaitForSingleObject(myThread1->m_hThread,INFINITE); myThread2->SuspendThread(); m_Static.SetWindowTextW(L"Paused.."); } else { m_Track = FALSE; GetDlgItem(IDCANCEL)->SetWindowTextW(L"Pause"); myThread1->ResumeThread(); myThread2->ResumeThread(); /*myEventHandler.SetEvent(); WaitForSingleObject(myThread1->m_hThread,INFINITE);*/ } }

  • What is the point of a constant in C#

    - by Adam
    Can anyone tell what is the point of a constant in C#? For example, what is the advantage of doing cosnt int months = 12; as opposed to int months = 12; I get that constants can't be changed, but then why not just... not change it's value after you initialize it?

  • Output from OouraFFT correct sometimes but completely false other times. Why ?

    - by Yan
    Hi I am using Ooura FFT to compute the FFT of the accelerometer data in windows of 1024 samples. The code works fine, but then for some reason it produces very strange outputs, i.e. continuous spectrum with amplitudes of the order of 10^200. Here is the code: OouraFFT *myFFT=[[OouraFFT alloc] initForSignalsOfLength:1024 NumWindows:10]; // had to allocate it UIAcceleration *tempAccel = nil; double *input=(double *)malloc(1024 * sizeof(double)); double *frequency=(double *)malloc(1024*sizeof(double)); if (input) { //NSLog(@"%d",[array count]); for (int u=0; u<[array count]; u++) { tempAccel = (UIAcceleration *)[array objectAtIndex:u]; input[u]=tempAccel.z; //NSLog(@"%g",input[u]); } } myFFT.inputData=input; // specifies input data to myFFT [myFFT calculateWelchPeriodogramWithNewSignalSegment]; // calculates FFT for (int i=0;i<myFFT.dataLength;i++) // loop to copy output of myFFT, length of spectrumData is half of input data, so copy twice { if (i<myFFT.numFrequencies) { frequency[i]=myFFT.spectrumData[i]; // } else { frequency[i]=myFFT.spectrumData[myFFT.dataLength-i]; // copy twice } } for (int i=0;i<[array count];i++) { TransformedAcceleration *NewAcceleration=[[TransformedAcceleration alloc]init]; tempAccel=(UIAcceleration*)[array objectAtIndex:i]; NewAcceleration.timestamp=tempAccel.timestamp; NewAcceleration.x=tempAccel.x; NewAcceleration.y=tempAccel.z; NewAcceleration.z=frequency[i]; [newcurrentarray addObject:NewAcceleration]; // this does not work //[self replaceAcceleration:NewAcceleration]; //[NewAcceleration release]; [NewAcceleration release]; } TransformedAcceleration *a=nil;//[[TransformedAcceleration alloc]init]; // object containing fft of x,y,z accelerations for(int i=0; i<[newcurrentarray count]; i++) { a=(TransformedAcceleration *)[newcurrentarray objectAtIndex:i]; //NSLog(@"%d,%@",i,[a printAcceleration]); fprintf(fp,[[a printAcceleration] UTF8String]); //this is going wrong somewhow } fclose(fp); [array release]; [myFFT release]; //[array removeAllObjects]; [newcurrentarray release]; free(input); free(frequency);

    Although it runs correctly, the following results in the aforementioned compiler warning: return ((item - (my->items))/(my->itemSize)); 'item' is a 'void *'; 'my-items' is a 'void *'; 'my-itemSize' is an 'int' Casting 'item' and 'my-items' as an 'int *' caused the program to run improperly. What is the best way to remove the warning?

  • Implementing Object Oriented: ansi-C approach

    - by No Money
    Hey there, I am an Intermediate programmer in Java and know some of the basics in C++. I recently started to scam over "C language" [please note that i emphasized on C language and want to stick with C as i found it to be a perfect tool, so no need for suggestions focusing on why should i move back to C++ or Java or any other crappy language (e.g: C#)]. Moving on, I code an Object Oriented approach in C but kindda scramble with the pointers part. Please understand that I am just a noob trying to extend my knowledge beyond what i learned in High School. Here is my code..... #include <stdio.h> typedef struct per{ int privateint; char *privateString; struct per (*New) (); void (*deleteperOBJ) (struct t_person *); void (*setperNumber) ((struct*) t_person,int); void (*setperString) ((struct*) t_person,char *); void (*dumpperState) ((struct*) t_person); }t_person; void setperNumber(t_person *const per,int num){ if(per==NULL) return; per->privateint=num; } void setperString(t_person *const per,char *string){ if(per==NULL) return; per->privateString=string; } void dumpperState(t_person *const per){ if(per==NULL) return; printf("value of private int==%d\n", per->privateint); printf("value of private string==%s\n", per->privateString); } void deleteperOBJ(struct t_person *const per){ free((void*)t_person->per); t_person ->per = NULL; } main(){ t_person *const per = (struct*) malloc(sizeof(t_person)); per = t_person -> struct per -> New(); per -> setperNumber (t_person *per, 123); per -> setperString(t_person *per, "No money"); dumpperState(t_person *per); deleteperOBJ(t_person *per); } Just to warn you, this program has several errors and since I am a beginner I couldn't help except to post this thread as a question. I am looking forward for assistance. Thanks in advance.

  • C++ Class Access Specifier Verbosity

    - by PolyTex
    A "traditional" C++ class (just some random declarations) might resemble the following: class Foo { public: Foo(); explicit Foo(const std::string&); ~Foo(); enum FooState { Idle, Busy, Unknown }; FooState GetState() const; bool GetBar() const; void SetBaz(int); private: struct FooPartialImpl; void HelperFunction1(); void HelperFunction2(); void HelperFunction3(); FooPartialImpl* m_impl; // smart ptr FooState m_state; bool m_bar; int m_baz; }; I always found this type of access level specification ugly and difficult to follow if the original programmer didn't organize his "access regions" neatly. Taking a look at the same snippet in a Java/C# style, we get: class Foo { public: Foo(); public: explicit Foo(const std::string&); public: ~Foo(); public: enum FooState { Idle, Busy, Unknown }; public: FooState GetState() const; public: bool GetBar() const; public: void SetBaz(int); private: struct FooPartialImpl; private: void HelperFunction1(); private: void HelperFunction2(); private: void HelperFunction3(); private: FooPartialImpl* m_impl; // smart ptr private: FooState m_state; private: bool m_bar; private: int m_baz; }; In my opinion, this is much easier to read in a header because the access specifier is right next to the target, and not a bunch of lines away. I found this especially true when working with header-only template code that wasn't separated into the usual "*.hpp/*.inl" pair. In that scenario, the size of the function implementations overpowered this small but important information. My question is simple and stems from the fact that I've never seen anyone else actively do this in their C++ code. Assuming that I don't have a "Class View" capable IDE, are there any obvious drawbacks to using this level of verbosity? Any other style recommendations are welcome!

  • How to define 'Attached property' as 'SelectedValuePath' in ComboBox?

    - by SpudCZ
    Hi, I have a problem with binding in ComboBox. I'd like to bind ComboBox items to ListView columns and as a selected value return value of attached property defined on the selected column. In example bellow you can see working sample that displays width of selected column. If you try to change SelectedValuePath in ComboBox into (loc:SampleBehavior.SampleValue) you get binding error: BindingExpression path error: '(u:SearchableListView.SearchMemberPath)' property not found on 'object' ''GridViewColumn' <Window x:Class="Problem_Sample1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:loc="clr-namespace:Problem_Sample1" WindowStartupLocation="CenterScreen" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <DockPanel> <ComboBox DockPanel.Dock="Top" x:Name="combobox" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=View.Columns, ElementName=listview}" DisplayMemberPath="Header" SelectedValuePath="Width"> </ComboBox> <StatusBar DockPanel.Dock="Bottom"> <TextBlock> <TextBlock Text="Selected column (value): " /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=SelectedValue, ElementName=combobox}" /> </TextBlock> </StatusBar> <ListView x:Name="listview"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Name" Width="101" loc:SampleBehavior.SampleValue="201" /> <GridViewColumn Header="Surname" Width="102" loc:SampleBehavior.SampleValue="202" /> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> </DockPanel> </Window>   SampleBehavior.cs using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; namespace Problem_Sample1 { public static class SampleBehavior { public static readonly DependencyProperty SampleValueProperty = DependencyProperty.RegisterAttached( "SampleValue", typeof (int), typeof (SampleBehavior)); [AttachedPropertyBrowsableForType(typeof(GridViewColumn))] public static int GetSampleValue(GridViewColumn column) { return (int)column.GetValue(SampleValueProperty); } [AttachedPropertyBrowsableForType(typeof(GridViewColumn))] public static void SetSampleValue(GridViewColumn column, int value) { column.SetValue(SampleValueProperty, value); } } }   Thanks for any help or suggestion.

  • Having trouble doing an Update with a Linq to Sql object

    - by Pure.Krome
    Hi folks, i've got a simple linq to sql object. I grab it from the database and change a field then save. No rows have been updated. :( When I check the full Sql code that is sent over the wire, I notice that it does an update to the row, not via the primary key but on all the fields via the where clause. Is this normal? I would have thought that it would be easy to update the field(s) with the where clause linking on the Primary Key, instead of where'ing (is that a word :P) on each field. here's the code... using (MyDatabase db = new MyDatabase()) { var boardPost = (from bp in db.BoardPosts where bp.BoardPostId == boardPostId select bp).SingleOrDefault(); if (boardPost != null && boardPost.BoardPostId > 0) { boardPost.ListId = listId; // This changes the value from 0 to 'x' db.SubmitChanges(); } } and here's some sample sql.. exec sp_executesql N'UPDATE [dbo].[BoardPost] SET [ListId] = @p6 WHERE ([BoardPostId] = @p0) AND .... <snip the other fields>',N'@p0 int,@p1 int,@p2 nvarchar(9),@p3 nvarchar(10),@p4 int,@p5 datetime,@p6 int',@p0=1276,@p1=212787,@p2=N'ttreterte',@p3=N'ttreterte3',@p4=1,@p5='2009-09-25 12:32:12.7200000',@p6=72 Now, i know there's a datetime field in this update .. and when i checked the DB it's value was/is '2009-09-25 12:32:12.720' (less zero's, than above) .. so i'm not sure if that is messing up the where clause condition... but still! should it do a where clause on the PK's .. if anything .. for speed! Yes / no ? UPDATE After reading nitzmahone's reply, I then tried playing around with the optimistic concurrency on some values, and it still didn't work :( So then I started some new stuff ... with the optimistic concurrency happening, it includes a where clause on the field it's trying to update. When that happens, it doesn't work. so.. in the above sql, the where clause looks like this ... WHERE ([BoardPostId] = @p0) AND ([ListId] IS NULL) AND ... <rest snipped>) This doesn't sound right! the value in the DB is null, before i do the update. but when i add the ListId value to the where clause (or more to the point, when L2S add's it because of the optomistic concurrecy), it fails to find/match the row. wtf?

  • Have I to count transactions before rollback one in catch block in T-SQL?

    - by abatishchev
    I have next block in the end of each my stored procedure for SQL Server 2008 BEGIN TRY BEGIN TRAN -- my code COMMIT END TRY BEGIN CATCH IF (@@trancount > 0) BEGIN ROLLBACK DECLARE @message NVARCHAR(MAX) DECLARE @state INT SELECT @message = ERROR_MESSAGE(), @state = ERROR_STATE() RAISERROR (@message, 11, @state) END END CATCH Is it possible to switch CATCH-block to BEGIN CATCH ROLLBACK DECLARE @message NVARCHAR(MAX) DECLARE @state INT SELECT @message = ERROR_MESSAGE(), @state = ERROR_STATE() RAISERROR (@message, 11, @state) END CATCH or just BEGIN CATCH ROLLBACK END CATCH ?

  • check if directory exists c#

    - by Ant
    I am trying to see if a directory exists based on an input field from the user. When the user types in the path, I want to check if the path actually exists. I have some c# code already. It returns 1 for any local path, but always returns 0 when I am checking a network path. static string checkValidPath(string path) { //Insert your code that runs under the security context of the authenticating user here. using (ImpersonateUser user = new ImpersonateUser(user, "", password)) { //DirectoryInfo d = new DirectoryInfo(quotelessPath); bool doesExist = Directory.Exists(path); //if (d.Exists) if(doesExist) { user.Dispose(); return "1"; } else { user.Dispose(); return "0"; } } } public class ImpersonateUser : IDisposable { [DllImport("advapi32.dll", SetLastError = true)] private static extern bool LogonUser(string lpszUsername, string lpszDomain, string lpszPassword, int dwLogonType, int dwLogonProvider, out IntPtr phToken); [DllImport("kernel32", SetLastError = true)] private static extern bool CloseHandle(IntPtr hObject); private IntPtr userHandle = IntPtr.Zero; private WindowsImpersonationContext impersonationContext; public ImpersonateUser(string user, string domain, string password) { if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(user)) { // Call LogonUser to get a token for the user bool loggedOn = LogonUser(user, domain, password, 9 /*(int)LogonType.LOGON32_LOGON_NEW_CREDENTIALS*/, 3 /*(int)LogonProvider.LOGON32_PROVIDER_WINNT50*/, out userHandle); if (!loggedOn) throw new Win32Exception(Marshal.GetLastWin32Error()); // Begin impersonating the user impersonationContext = WindowsIdentity.Impersonate(userHandle); } } public void Dispose() { if (userHandle != IntPtr.Zero) CloseHandle(userHandle); if (impersonationContext != null) impersonationContext.Undo(); } } Any help is appreciated. Thanks! EDIT 3: updated code to use BrokenGlass's impersonation functions. However, I need to initialize "password" to something... EDIT 2: I updated the code to try and use impersonation as suggested below. It still fails everytime. I assume I am using impersonation improperly... EDIT: As requested by ChrisF, here is the function that calls the checkValidPath function. Frontend aspx file... $.get('processor.ashx', { a: '7', path: x }, function(o) { alert(o); if (o=="0") { $("#outputPathDivValid").dialog({ title: 'Output Path is not valid! Please enter a path that exists!', width: 500, modal: true, resizable: false, buttons: { 'Close': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); } }); Backend ashx file... public void ProcessRequest (HttpContext context) { context.Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.Now); string sSid = context.Request["sid"]; switch (context.Request["a"]) {//a bunch of case statements here... case "7": context.Response.Write(checkValidPath(context.Request["path"].ToString())); break;
