    I suppose this could go for many OO languages. I'm building my domain objects and am not sure where the best place is for the interfaces & abstract classes. If I have a pets package with various implementations of the APet abstract class: should it live side-by-side with them or in the parent package? How about interfaces? It seems like they almost have to live above the implementations in the parent package, since there could potentially be other subpackages which implement it, while there seems to be a stronger correlation between one abstract class and a subpackage. e.g. com.foo com.foo.IConsumer (interface) com.foo.APet (abstract) com.foo.pets.Dog extends APet implements IConsumer OR com.foo com.foo.IConsumer (interface) com.foo.pets.APet (abstract) com.foo.pets.Dog extends APet implements IConsumer or something else?

  • Arduino crashes when sending bytes from Java [on hold]

    I used the sample program from the arduino website in order to send and receive data via serial to my Arduino one. However, for some reason, even when I try to send only one byte, the Arduino crashes after a while. It doesn't happen if I send the chars manually via the IDE's own serial monitor. I wrote the following method to output the character to Arduino: public synchronized void serialWrite(char sendIt){ try { output.write((byte)'0'); output.flush(); for (int j=0;j<1000000000;j++){ } }catch (Exception e){System.out.println("Not connected...");} notify(); } What I try above is to send just one character when the method is called. I send just a '0' char for testing. After manually calling the method two or three times, Arduino crashes. Is there anything I should be looking into?     Hiho, currently I have a working popup menu which appears when I click on a treeview item. But I want to show different popups for different tree view entries. I don't get a idea how to do so...   • Strange/simple batch question regarding Java/Ant

    For my company, I'm making a batch script to go through and compile the latest revisions of code for our current project. I'm using Ant to build the class files, but encountered a strange error. One of the source files imports .* from a directory, where there are no files (only folders), and in fact, the folders needed are imported right after. It compiles perfectly fine in Eclipse, but I'm using an Ant script to automate it outside of the IDE, and Javac throws an error when it encounters this line. Is there any automated procedure I can use to ignore/suppress this error with javac in Ant? I'd even go so far as to create a dummy file in the importing directory, but all of that in contained in a Jar file I don't wish to have to decompress and then recompress with the dummy file.     I am using jxl api for generating a excel sheet, in which the alternate rows are highlighted, when I sort the contents of a excel and sort manually, the cell background colors messup, usually this is because I am writing the color cell by cell, is there anyway through which i color the alternate rows of the excel while generating it, in such a way that it doesnt effect the sorting of the contents.
