  • How to write gSOAP server using VC++ (VS2008)?

    Hi, I have downloaded gSOAP2.8 from sourceforge. I want to use it for writting a gsoap based server. I need to be able to invoke my C++ code from PHP UI. E.g. My php page would show something like: $res = a + b = ? [Submit] When submit button is clicked I want these parameters to be passed to my c++ function lets say compute_sum() ... and this function should be invoked with these parameters, and the results given back to my php page. I want to write this gsoap based c++ server. Can someone please help me with getting started with it? I need to know: 1] What kind of c++ code it should it be? (Windows console app, or a windows service) 2] How do I launch this server? (Would it need to be a webservice, hosted over something like apache?) Please advise and guide. Regards, Falcon

  • TFS: Choose which workspace to add a solution too.

    I have a solution which I developed in VS2008 and which I am trying to add to Source Control (TFS 2010, though the issue happened in TFS 2008 as well). I have several TFS workspaces on my computer and I have access to several Team Projects. When I right click the solution in my Solution Explorer and choose the "Add Solution to Source Control" option I am never given an option of choosing which Workspace or which Team Project to add the existing solution too. VS2008 then proceeds to add it to the same team project every time. I have tried selecting an alternate workspace/team project in every window where I can see an option for it but it always adds it back to the same one. I even tried changing the name of my new workspace so that alphabetically it was the first thinking that it might be somehow related to that... no luck. I then tried goign to the Change Source Control window where you can add/remove bindings on a solution/project but that window also defaults to the same Team Project as trying to add the solution directly does... Any help would be greatly appreciated with this, maybe I'm just missing something?

    How do I stop VS 2010 (RC) from autocompleting html helpers with new object { ... } when I just want to pass in an anonymous type? Backspacing is driving me crazy. e.g., VS wants: <%=Html.ActionLink("Register", "Register", new object { controller = "Account" }) %> I know the helper is declared expecting object, which is why it does this, but can I change this behavior just for mvc helpers?

  • Read and Step into .Net Framework Source Code

    I did ask whether this was possible in 2008 which was answered in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1296840/read-and-step-into-net-framework-source-code. However my problem is that I am using 2005 and not 2008. Does anyone know whether this is possible please?? The reason I want to do this is to better understand C# paradigms. With Java this is possible and I learnt a tremendous amount by being able to read code written by engineers

  • Time is updating when a form is not even running

    A co-worker of mine had downloaded a vb example project a while back to see how to make a call or two, he discovered it today again, and noticed that while sitting in the IDE the time/date is updating automatically when the entire project is not even running. How does this work, we looked around for code but can't find anything giving it away. Any ideas?

I know how to easily accomplish this in JavaScript with timeouts, but how would I go about doing the same thing in C#? Also, how long should I wait before I assume the user is done typing? 100ms?

    I'm trying to show one public twitter profile in one WebView of my app, is not necessary to login twitter, in the MotoDev Simulator this works fine, but in the physical device don't work, this: "403 fobiden limite exceed rate" error appears, this is the simple code line that I'm using: webView.loadUrl("https://mobile.twitter.com/#!/asambleaecuador"); and works fine into de MotoDev simulator AVD ....can somebody helpme please!!!     Hi all. I have a contact manager program that I'd like to design for multiple network marketing companies. My desired structure would include a core program which covers basic contact management functions. After that one could purchase a module for their specific network marketing company. This module would contain a variety of controls that the original program would need to be able to manipulate. Here is an example of what it would have to have: A group box containing buttons that link to a genealogy view, and the option to import one's donwnline from the back office provided by a company. A panel which is displayed on the contact page allowing the user to input business information or which will be filled by importing a downline from the back office: ie business ID, qualification level, sponsor information etc. a panel displayed when one searches for contacts on the contact list page which allows the user to sort based on information such as when they joined, what their business id is and so forth. a panel which is displayed in a personal business overview page which presents to an individual how many people in their downline are at each qualification level and develop a mailing list for individuals of a certain qualification level. I have the code developed to perform all these functions, I just wanted to give you an example of what needed to be done. I'm thinking that what I'm trying to create is a library that one can download and the program will recognize, but I'm not really sure where to go. What I'm really trying to do is figure out what kind of file I can make that will contain all this code and the GUI information that the program will recognize. Any ideas? With thanks, John

    I've got VS2010 installed, I've downloaded the Windows Phone add-in and the Silverlight Toolkit from CodePlex, but I cannot work out for the life of me how to actually use the controls in a Windows Phone 7 application... How do I add the controls into the toolbox, or link them so that the XAML doesn't give me errors all the time? For instance, using the Viewbox - the controls aren't implemented, and the XAML does not compile.

(In Debug mode, it works fine) In VS2010 Beta 2, it doesn't compile (I didn't try Beta 1); I learned that the hard way Is there any other way to make this == null in pure C#?
