    I'm trying to use Android Maps, following the instructions in Hello MapView. I've added <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> in the Manifest, and I'm building against the 'Google APIs' target, which claims to be API version 7. So I don't think I'm doing anything obviously wrong, but the project refuses to build with this error: [2010-12-22 13:34:32 - FMS]Installing FMS.apk... [2010-12-22 13:35:01 - FMS]Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY [2010-12-22 13:35:01 - FMS]Please check logcat output for more details.     Hi guys, I want to check our google postions for several keywords every day and make a note in a spreadseet. At the moment, we have a student doing it but it's a rubbish job and it doesn't seem fair on them! Are there any tools available to automate this process? I have tried rankchecker by seobook.com, but although that should be exactly what im looking for when i set scheduled tasks in that, it doesnt work. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks! peter EDIT: Liam has suggested a Python script to do this, which unfortunately isnt something I'm very familiar with! If anyone knows of a good tutorial or something to help us with this, that would be brilliant. Update: Found a php script at seoscript.net which looks like a step in the right direction. But I cant get it to work! I get this error. Anyone more knowledgabe than me know how to fix that? I have PEAR installed. thanks again, Peter

    Hello, I have been having some trouble finding a good way to output just the street name and city as text (Infinite Loop, Cupertino shown here) that can be displayed in my iPhone app. This needs to be able to dynamically change as you change streets and city. I don't have the slightest idea of how to do this, I hope someone can help. I have attached a very rough image of what I am trying to acheave. I have found this (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/services.html#Geocoding) for google maps about how to reverse geocode using javascript, but what I do not understand is how this would be done in a iPhone development setting. I work in web design and I see how it would be done in HTML but I am very new to iPhone development and don't have the slightest clue of how it would be done here. If someone could spell out how to do this I would be extremely grateful. I cannot seem to find what I am looking for by searching Google.   • google maps call within a For Loop not returning distance

    Hi, I am calling google maps within a for loop in my javascript as I have mulitple routes that need to be costed separately based on distances. Everything works great except that the distance is only returned for one of the routes. I have a feeling that it is something to do with the way I have the items declared within the ajax call for the maps.   • Problem with poor font rendering with CSS3 transitions, jQuery, & Google Fonts

    In Firefox, there is no problem. Sorry :( I'm using Isotope jQuery plugin, and the CSS3 transitions seem to cause the poor font-rendering. I'm also using Google Font API.     I'm going through the google app engine tutorials at https://developers.google.com/appengine/docs/java/gettingstarted/usingusers I'm very new to google app engine, java and web programming in general. So my question is, at the bottom of the page it says to add a link to allow the user to log out. When I look at the page source, I have no tags or any of the other stuff that goes with a webpage. I guess that makes sense considering I've done nothing to output any of that. Do I just do a bunch of resp.GetWriter().println() statements to output the rest of the webpage, or is there something else I don't know about? Thanks!

    Hi I use Google App Engine with datanucleus and JPA. I'm having a real hard time grasping how I'm supposed to read stuff from data store and pass it to JSP. If I load a list of POJOs with entitymanager and pass it to JSP, it crashes to org.datanucleus.exceptions.NucleusUserException: Object Manager has been closed. I understand why this is happening. Obviously because I fetch the list, close the entity manager and pass it to JSP, at which point it will fail because the list is lazy. How do I make the list NOT lazy without resorting to hacks like calling size() or something like that? I would, however, like to put different coloured marker icons on the map depending on the category that the video is in. Could someone help me with the code for adding extra marker icons for different categories?     Hello, I was going through the source of google guice, and found an unfamiliar piece of code. It would be great learning if someone can clarify it. I have very basic understanding of inner classes, as they keep the implementation details close to the public interface. Otherwise the inner class may pollute the namespace. Now, I see the below lines at public static final Scope SINGLETON = new Scope() { public <T> Provider<T> scope(final Key<T> key, final Provider<T> creator) { return new Provider<T>() { ......... } It assign an inner class instance to the static variable, but Scope is an interface defined as (at) public interface Scope Is it possible to instantiate the interface?? or is it a succinct syntax for an anonymous implementation of an interface?? If anyone can explain what the author is intended by multiple nested classes above (Scope and Provider), and why it make sense to implement this way, it would help me to understand. thanks.

    Hi, I'm looking to create an extension for the leading browsers (firefox, safari and ie). Its rather simple, and I'm looking for the most efficient way to go about this. I need to get the hostname of the current site the user is on, and if it matches a certain parameter(eg, mysite.org), I'll need to append to the link some extra data and refresh to the new link. What is the simplest way to go about this? (I don't want to go in the direction of a bookmarklet - since this would require the user to click.     I'm a bit of a beginner with Javascript, but last month I had a working Google chart linked to a Google Docs file, which uses a start date for the graph at 90 days before the current date. I checked the page today and in Chrome I get the message "Object # has no method 'getTime'", and in Firefox I get the message "b.zoomStartTime[y] is not a function". Both stop the graph from loading. I have simplified the code to help me with the error, but I'm not getting anywhere...     I'd like to build a website that aggregates and displays content from hundreds of RSS feeds. The feeds will be from different sites: Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, etc, so the content will be very heterogenous. In a perfect world — and this is more of a side issue — I would like to allow other people to help manage the list of feeds and assign tags to the content from each individual feed so that you can filter the items that are displayed. What I've tried so far: Google Feeds API – I thought this would be the answer, but unless I'm missing something, the FeedController will only output the collected feed content as separate lists. Is there any way to ask the Google Feeds API to aggregate and sort the content from many RSS feeds before displaying? Yahoo! Pipes – This also seemed like a good solution at first. I setup a Pipe that accesses a list of RSS feeds stored in a Google Doc spreadsheet and then aggregates the content. However, the output leaves a lot to be desired; Tumblr video posts, for example, only show a title and a permalink to the post, the embedded Youtube video is lost. PHP – I've seen this question, which looks like a good approach. I'm less proficient in PHP, so although I'm willing to learn, I'd ideally like to find a different approach. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  • Google Cloud Messaging

    I downloaded the GCM project from git and i was able to start the server (app engine for java) and also compile the client apk on the device. On startup the device successfully registers with the server and I can see the registration id when i go to http://myserverip:8080/_ah/admin/. The problem is when i hit the 'Send Message' button there is a message 'Single message queued for registration id ' and it doesn't do anything. Below is a screenshot of the error i noticed on the terminal. Am i missing something. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. .

  • Problem running Apache-Tomcat on every web browser installed in Windows 7

    Hello everyone, I'm working on a web application in JSP and my web container is Apache Tomcat 7.0.2 (Its portable cross-platform version). As I've made extensive use of HTML5-CSS3 and my target browser is Google Chrome, I'm able to run the the Apache server only in Opera web browser, neither of the remaining installed browser run it. Here's the steps I have followed to start the server in my Windows 7 machine. -Placing the 'apache-tomcat-7.0.2' directory on my root partition (i.e. C: Drive) -Execute 'startup.bat' from 'bin' directory in it. (startup.sh if on Linux/Unix). -Then, a Console window opens that shows log during the setup of server (separately from Command Prompt), and I need to keep that console running in order to keep the Apache server running, so I minimize it. -Then, I open 'http://localhost:8080/' in various web browsers, and I could see Apache Server Homepage with same address only in Opera Web Browser (11.01), neither of other browsers installed can open it (Chrome 9, Firefox 4 Beta 10 or IE8). -I also tried other port numbers, but none of them worked. What can I do to make Apache run in every browser installed in my computer? I have my computer dual boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10, and in Ubuntu, every web browser installed can run Apache once I start it, but same is not working in Windows.

    I'm not entirely sure how to properly explain this, but here we go... I'm trying to create a single budgeting document that allows me to manage purchasing and reconciliation for multiple projects. I would like to create separate sheets per project and have purchased items populate on a master sheet. Using conditional formatting, I've set one of the columns to display an item's status (waiting for approval, approved, ordered, received). I would like the contents of an entire row to populate in a new sheet table once the status is set to "Received." The sheet should update descendingly. I can't attach an image because I don't have a 10 reputation.. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Default browser hangs

    Intermittent hangs would occur when I would use Internet Explorer to open a new main page or new tab to a site I know would be up. The browser would open and say "Waiting for site example.com" and do nothing more. If I closed the window and reopened it it would immediately connect. Over time I would have to close and reopen the window to get to the page. This would happen to any page, including Google. Got sick of it and started using Chrome. I recently upgraded my anti-virus and am now experiencing the same issue with Chrome. I use AVG for my antivirus. Empirically it seems that if I don't make Chrome my default browser I don't experience the issue. I tested this theory for over two hours yesterday. Possible issues I have found this could be but not confirmed yet: MTU settings are not correct. I am infected but my antivirus has not caught it (unlikely but possible) ?? I would like to think this is related to my antivirus but I am unsure how to verify. I don't like the idea of killing my antivirus if #2 is a possibility. I am looking for tips on how I can troubleshoot possible issues.

  • Wikipedia Images don't show up in browsers

    It's a weird issue with wikipedia which had left me frustrated. When I go to wikipedia, with different browsers ( IE8, Chrome3, Opera10 ) no image in the site will show up. Even right-clicking the image to ( show, save, open in new tab/window ) will return nothing except when open in new tab/window I'll get a black horizontal line across the page. All my browsing across the web goes flawlessly, and every image in every site show up normally except in the wikipedia site. I have win7 ultimate with all updates.

  • Why do I get this message from chrome when navigating to https://www.amazon.com?

    This is probably not the site you are looking for! You attempted to reach www.amazon.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as *.voxcdn.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of www.amazon.com. Intermittently, I get a blank page when going to http://www.amazon.com. So I stuck an 's' in the URL, making it https://www.amazon.com and got that message above (with the nice red screen) from Chrome indicating there might be some monkey business going on. After hammering on the URL a bunch of times and pulling it up in Chrome's developer tool to look at the network traffic on it, the url (without the s) started behaving. The url with the s just hangs, but the red screen no longer comes up. Some specs... I've got a macBook Pro, Snow Leopard, Time Warner cable. I've had enough strange stuff happening over the past couple months (google.com, youtube.com, amazon.com not coming up or loading strange error messages with random reference numbers) that I finally decided to switch to OpenDNS. Still having problems, though.
