    I'm going to create widget which needs to update its content every minute (it shows time-related data). However, there is no need to update widget if it is currently invisible, which means: screen is turned off another app is running widget is placed on another (invisible) home screen tab What is the best way to update only visible widget every minute - without waking up device nor doing unnecessary computations? After widget becomes visible, small lag before update is acceptable.

  • How to build a function on the fly in java?

    I'm parsing a text file that is being mapped to some java code like such: public void eval(Node arg) { if(arg.data.equals("rand")) { moveRandomly(); } else if(arg.data.equals("home")) { goHome(); }//snip.. This is going to need to be re-evaluated about a thousand times and I'd rather not have to traverse the whole thing every time. Is there any way to make this traversal once and then have it be a function that is called every other time?

  • whats wrong in this LINQ synatx?

    Hi, I am trying to convert a SQL query to LINQ. Somehow my count(distinct(x)) logic does not seem to be working correctly. The original SQL is quite efficient(or so i think), but the generated SQL is not even returning the correct result. I am trying to fix this LINQ to do what the original SQL is doing, AND in an efficient way as the original query is doing.   • UIKeyboard slides from wrong coordinates when in landscape, why?

    Hi I have an app that starts in Landscape Right mode. When I tap a textField the keyboard should slide up, however first time when the keyboard slides it slides from the right (where the home button is). After that it slides up and down as expected. So only the first time when I call the keyboard in it comes from where it would come if the app would be in portrait mode. Does anyone know how can I fix this?

    Hi, I am using MVC 2 with Area. To test routing, I am using MvcContrib. I have gone over this so many times but are totally stuck of finding a solution. EDIT: The errors is the ouput while compiling with gcc if I didn't make that clear.
