    Hi all, I'm using the function preg_replace but I cannot figure out how to make it work, the function just doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm trying to do is to convert a string into a link if any word contains the % (percentage) character. For instance if I have the string "go to %mysite", I'd like to convert the mysite word into a link. I tried the following... $data = "go to %mysite"; $result = preg_replace('/(^|[\s\.\,\:\;]+)%([A-Za-z0-9]{1,64})/e', '\\1%<a href=#>\\2</a>', $data); ...but it doesn't work.     What I am looking for currently is a simple, basic, login credentials sanitation script. I understand that I make a function to do so and I have one...but all it does right now is strip tags... am I doomed to use replace? or is there a way i can just remove all special characters and spaces and limit it to only letters and numbers...then as for the password limit it to only letters and numbers exclimation points, periods, and other special chars that cannot affect my SQL query.     I want to make someone able to register on my site (or upgrade their current account) with one of 3 membership levels. When someone selects the membership level (or upgrades their current account) and registers, they will register under that membership level and payment will be started from there. My real question being how do I make someone able to sign up (or upgrade) an account upon registration (for new accounts) and upgrade for existing accounts and have this happen automatically so I dont have to do them all by hand?   • How to prevent PHP variables from being arrays?

    I think that (the title) is the problem I am having. I set up a MySQL connection, I read an XML file, and then I insert those values into a table by looping through the elements. The problem is, instead of inserting only 1 record, sometimes I insert 2 or 3 or 4. It seems to depend on the previous values I have read. I think I am reinitializing the variables, but I guess I am missing something -- hopefully something simple. Here is my code. I originally had about 20 columns, but I shortened the included version to make it easier to read. $ctr = 0; $sql = "insert into csd (id,type,nickname,hostname,username,password) ". If print("\$src2->crit is a ".$src->crit."<br />") returns that it is an array then why is is_array($src2->$crit) generating an error?

    I have a script that listens to a jabber server and responds accordingly. Though it's not supposed to stop, last night it did. Now I want to run a cron job every minute to check if the script is running, and start it if not. The question is, how do I check if a particular script is still running? Some solutions have been posted here, but those are all for Linux, while I am looking for a Windows solution. Any ideas please? Thanks.

  • PHP & MySQLi timeout

    Whenever I try to create a mysqli object, as in; $mysqli = new mysqli(host, user, pass, table); ...the page just loads for around a minute, then stops, showing all the content of the page up until that line. info() says that MySQLi (and MySQL if that matters) are enabled, and I can access the MySQL CLI. I'm also working on a local machine, not a remote server. I feel like I've missed something obvious. Can anyone shed some light on it? Edit: just for clarification, I am actually putting real values into the mysqli constructor :)

(see. The M.O.F Blend in my link) This is done on discogs with having a master release that features the other releases. unfortunately this information isn't present in the API data, so i want to do the same thing by grouping the <release>-nodes with the same <title>-tags, or add a flag to the <releases> that don't have a unique <title>? any good ideas on the best way of doing this? i also like to know if it's possible to count the <release>-nodes (child of releases) that have the same type-attribute? like in this example count the releases with the type "Main"? maybe it's better to do this things with XMLReader or XPath?

    Hi, I'm trying to get the unix time for date strings that are formatted like so: 'second sunday of march 2010' 'first sunday of november 2010' I was under the impression that strtotime could handle such a string, but apparently not, as this returns false. How can I convert to unix time when given a day of week, which one of those in the month (ie. first, second, etc.), a month and a year.

  • Login problem with php

    I want to prevent multiple log in with same log in credentials simultaneously. So I made a column login_status and set it to 1 when some one logging in and change to 0 when logging out besides I set session after successful logged in. If user won't click on log out(in case of user close tab or because of some network problem) it doesn't update database and then one can't use that log in credentials again. So I use a ajax call to set current time stamp in database with related log in credentials and it is updated in each 2 minutes if user not navigate from that page. Then if some one attempts to log in with same log in credentials, it will check these time stamp if column login_status is 1, then if the time stamp is older than 3 minutes it allows the log in.Then it solving that problem. But the new problem is if user closes the tab or browser window and after 3 minutes one can log in with same log in credentials from somewhere and if the previous user open that page automatically it will log in as session is already set. How can I prevent this.

If yes, then $matches should contain parts of string above, if not (as I guess) it should contain four zero-length arrays. something is wrong, but I can't find, what actually is?
