  I have developed my webservice in Java CXF which returns java.util.List. This webservice is password enabled. that means i have used org.apache.cxf.ws.security.wss4j.WSS4JInInterceptor for security purpose. Now i want to call this webservice from php. but i am not able to do so. • How do you Access an Authenticated Google App Engine Service with Ruby?

  I am trying to do this same thing here but with Ruby: Access Authenticated GAE Client with Python. Any ideas how to retrieve authenticated content from GAE with Ruby? I am using the Ruby GData Gem to access everything in Google Docs and such and it's making life very easy, but now I'd like to access things on GAE that require admin access, programmatically, and it doesn't support that. • Importing Variables from PHP 4 into Flash

  I'm trying to get variable importing from a PHP script before I implement it into a larger project. So far all I've gotten is headaches. //this is all thats in test.php other than the open and close brackets. • Locking a table for getting MAX in LINQ

I have a query in LINQ, I want to get MAX of Code of my table and increase it and insert new record with new Code. just like the IDENTITY feature of SQL Server, but here my Code column is char(5) where can be alphabets and numeric.   hello, I have had a hard time getting and answer to this and i would really , really appreciate some help on this. i have been on this for over 2 weeks without headway. i want to use c# to add a line of stock data to amibroker but i just cant find a CLEAR response on how to instantiate it in C#. • Delphi 2010 - Source files randomly become read-only in editor?

  Does anyone else have this problem or is my Delphi cursed somehow? I'll have a bunch of forms and files open in tabs in the editor and I'll be typing away and then suddenly everything stops - my .pas file has, seemingly at random, become read-only. Sometimes I can just right-click the tab at the top and uncheck "Read-Only" and continue, but sometimes this option is checked and greyed-out (disabled), meaning I can't uncheck it and I can't make any further edits to the file. This too seems to be random. In the latter case, the only solution is to save the file in question, which works, despite Delphi's assertion that the file is read-only, close its tab in the editor, and re-open it. Not catastrophic, really, but it's starting to become annoying. Could it be that I am hitting a keyboard command combination accidentally to do this or is this a bug in Delphi? I'm in Delphi 2010, Windows 7. Doubt it's anything to do with installed packages, but if anyone wants the list I'll generate it and attach it here.

• Ajax call to parent window after form submission

  Hi all, Pardon the complicated title. Here's my situation: I'm working on a Grails app, and using jQuery for some of the more complex UI stuff. The way the system is set up, I have an item, which can have various files (user-supplied) associated with it. On my Item/show view, there is a link to add a file. This link pops up a jQuery modal dialog, which displays my file upload form (a remote .gsp). So, the user selects the file and enters a comment, and when the form is submitted, the dialog gets closed, and the list of files on the Item/show view is refreshed. I was initially accomplishing this by adding onclick="javascript:window.parent.$('#myDialog').dialog('close');" to my submit button. This worked fine, but when submitting some larger files, I end up with a race condition where the dialog closes and the file list is refreshed before the new file is saved, and so the list of files is out of date (the file still gets saved properly). So my question is, what is the best way to ensure that the dialog is not closed until after the form submit operation completes? I've tried using the <g:formRemote tag in Grails, and closing the dialog in the "after" attribute (according to the Grails docs, the script is called after form submission), but I receive an error (taken from FireBug) stating that window.parent.$('#myDialog').dialog is not a function Is this a simple JavaScript/Grails syntax issue that I'm missing here, or am I going about this entirely wrong? I am successfully POSTing and GETing. However, I am worried that I am not doing POST the right way. Do I need to include in the above code the following if-statement? if (method.equals("POST") && postData != null) { connection.setRequestProperty("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); connection.setRequestProperty("Content-Length", Integer .toString(postData.length)); OutputStream requestOutput = connection.openOutputStream(); requestOutput.write(postData); requestOutput.close(); } If so, why? • SQL Server CLR stored procedures in data processing tasks - good or evil?

  In short - is it a good design solution to implement most of the business logic in CLR stored procedures? I have read much about them recently but I can't figure out when they should be used, what are the best practices, are they good enough or not. For example, my business application needs to parse a large fixed-length text file, extract some numbers from each line in the file, according to these numbers apply some complex business rules (involving regex matching, pattern matching against data from many tables in the database and such), and as a result of this calculation update records in the database. There is also a GUI for the user to select the file, view the results, etc. This application seems to be a good candidate to implement the classic 3-tier architecture: the Data Layer, the Logic Layer, and the GUI layer. The Data Layer would access the database The Logic Layer would run as a WCF service and implement the business rules, interacting with the Data Layer The GUI Layer would be a means of communication between the Logic Layer and the User. Now, thinking of this design, I can see that most of the business rules may be implemented in a SQL CLR and stored in SQL Server. I might store all my raw data in the database, run the processing there, and get the results. I see some advantages and disadvantages of this solution: Pros: The business logic runs close to the data, meaning less network traffic. Process all data at once, possibly utilizing parallelizm and optimal execution plan. Cons: Scattering of the business logic: some part is here, some part is there. Questionable design solution, may encounter unknown problems. Difficult to implement a progress indicator for the processing task. I would like to hear all your opinions about SQL CLR. Does anybody use it in production? Are there any problems with such design? Is it a good thing?

  I created a simple news website. I store both videos and images in IMAGES table. Videos added have videos and images added have images stored in a column called ImagesType. Images and Videos attached to a news is stored in ImagesID column of the NEWS table. My problem occurs when I need to display the first image of a news. i.e. IMAGES table: ImagesID ImagesLgURL ImagesType 1 /FLPM/media/videos/0H7T9C0F.flv videos 2 /FLPM/media/images/8R5D7M8O.jpg images 3 /FLPM/media/images/0E7Q9Z0C.jpg images NEWS table NewsID ImagesID NewsTitle 1 1;2; Street Chic: Paris ERROR 2 3; Paris Runway NO ERROR The following code give me an error with the 2nd news item because the first ImageID stored in the list is not an image but a video. I need to figure out a way to skip the video item and display the next image. I hope I made sense. • edmx - The operation could not be completed - After adding Inheritance

  Hey guys I have an edmx model which I have draged 2 tables onto - One called 'File' and the other 'ApplicaitonFile'. These two tables have a 1 to 1 relationship in the database. If I stop here everything works fine. But in my model, I want 'ApplicaitonFile' to inherit from 'File'. So I delete the 1 to 1 relationship then configure 'ApplicaitonFile' from 'File' and then remove the FileId from 'ApplicaitonFile' which was the primary key. (Note I am following the instructions from here). If I leave the model open at this point everything is fine, but as soon as I close it, if I try and reopen it again I get the following error "The operation could not be completed". I have been searching for a solution and found this - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/944050/entity-model-does-not-load but as far as I can tell I don't have a duplicate InheritanceConnectors (although I don't know exactly what I'm looking for but I can't see anything out of the ordinary - like 2 connectors with the same name) and the relationship I originally have is a 1 to 1 not a 1 to 0..1 Any ideas???

• Automation Error upon running VBA script in Excel

  Hi guys, I'm getting an Automation error upon running VBA code in Excel 2007. I'm attempting to connect to a remote SQL Server DB and load data to from Excel to SQL Server. The error I get is, "Run-time error '-2147217843(80040e4d)': Automation error". I checked out the MSDN site and it suggested that this may be due to a bug associated with the sqloledb provider and one way to mitigate this is to use ODBC. Well I changed the connection string to reflect ODBC provider and associated parameters and I'm still getting the same error.   The translation tool isn't able to translate this working code. • Appengine datastore phantom entity - inconsistent state?

  Getting a weird error on java appengine code that used to work fine (nothing has changed but the data in the datastore). I'm trying to iterate over the results of a query and change a few properties of the entities. The query does return a set of results, however, when I try to access the first result in the list, it throws an exception when trying to access any of its properties (but its key). THis entity doesn't really exist (queried the datastore from admin console) but for some reason its being returned by the query. Could my data store be in an inconsistent state? I've managed the following workaround by placing it as the first line in my for loop. Clearly an ugly hack: if (c.getOnTheCanId() == 3204258) { continue; } Any ideas?

• Unhandled Exception with c++ app on Visual Studio 2008 release build - occurs when returning from fu

  Hi, I have a (rather large) application that I have written in C++ and until recently it has been running fine outside of visual studio from the release build. However, now, whenever I run it it says "Unhandled exception at 0x77cf205b in myprog.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x45000200.", and leads me to "crtexe.c" at line 582 ("mainret = main(argc, argv, envp);") if I attempt to debug it. Note that this problem never shows if I run my debug executable outside of visual studio, or if I run my debug or release build within visual studio. It only happens when running the release build outside of visual studio. I have been through and put plenty of printfs and a couple of while(1)s in it to see when it actually crashed, and found that the access violation occurs at exactly the point that the value is returned from the function (I'm returning a pointer to an object). I don't fully understand why I would get an access violation at the point it returns, and it doesn't seem to matter what I'm returning as it still occurs when I return 0. The point it started crashing was when I added a function which does a lot of reading from a file using ifstream. I am opening the stream every time I attempt to read a new file and close it when I finish reading it. If I keep attempting to run it, it will run once in about 20 tries. It seems a lot more reliable if I run it off my pen drive (it seems to crash the first 3 or 4 times then run fine after that - maybe it's due to its slower read speed). • WCF Service in Azure with ClaimsIdentity over SSL

  Hello , Created a WCF service as a WebRole using Azure and a client windows application which refers to this service. The Cloud Service is refered to a certificate which is created using the "Hands On Lab" given in windows identity foundation. The Web Service is hosted in IIS and it works perfect when executed. I've created a client windows app which refers to this web service. Since WIF Claims identity is used, I have a claimsAuthorizationManager Class, and also a Policy class with set of defilned policies. The Claims is set in the web.config file. When I execute the windows app as the start up project, the app prompts for authentication, and when the account credentials are given as in the config file, it opens a new "Windows Card Space" Window and Says "Incoming Policy Failed". When I close the window the System throws and Exception The incoming policy could not be validated. For more information, please see the event log. • Can I indicate where my MySQL parameter should go more meaningfully than just having a ? to mark the

  I've got a chunk of code where I can pass info into a MySQL command using parameters through an ODBC connection. Example code showing surname passed in using string surnameToLookFor: using (OdbcConnection DbConn = new OdbcConnection( connectToDB )) { OdbcDataAdapter cmd = new OdbcDataAdapter( "SELECT Firstname, Address, Postcode FROM customers WHERE Surname = ?", DbConn); OdbcParameter odbcParam = new OdbcParameter("surname", surnameToLookFor); cmd.SelectCommand.Parameters.Add(odbcParam); cmd.Fill(dsCustomers, "customers"); } What I'd like to know is whether I can indicate where my parameter should go more meaningfully than just having a ? to mark the position - as I could see this getting quite hard to debug if there are multiple parameters being replaced. I'd like to provide a name to the parameter in a manner something like this: SELECT Firstname, Address, Postcode FROM customers WHERE Surname = ?surname ", When I try this it just chokes. • Multimedia files written over WAN are getting truncated

  I use the windows Multimedia API to create .wav files. 1. Open file with mmsioOpen 2. Creates WAVE,frm and data chunks using mmioCreateChunk 3. Write audio data using mmioWrite 4. Ascend out of the chunks using mmioAscend 5. Close file using mmioClose The file is being written into a temporary location, so after it has been closed it gets copied to another location using the CopyFile. This program is written in C++ and works great until the file it is writing resides over a WAN in a different city or country. The end result is a wav file that should be 20-30 seconds long ends up being 4 secodns long. It is always the last bit that is missing, so when you play it back it just stops before then of the recording. I initially thought that maybe I was copying the file too soon so as a test I put in a pause of 30 seconds after closing the file using Sleep(30000), but this made no difference to either it being truncated or by how much. I have modified the program to write to a file in parrallel using CreateFile and WriteFile, and the result is the same, so it is not an issue specifically with the mmio API's. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and if there is a work-around to it? I suspect that I may end up having the temporary location on the local drive, but this is quite a big change to the application as well as existing deployments. thanks for everyones time Dean
