Do they actually save the ad/post in the database before continuing to Step 2 (Preview) but set a flag (like a boolean field called preview set to true)? It looks like they set a token paramater but I'm not sure what it's used for) I'm interested in this because it seems to go against the CRUD/REST and I thought it would be good to know how it worked. • How to read remote video on Amazon S3 using ffmpeg

  I need to create poster frames from videos hosted on Amazon S3 via ffmpeg. So is there a way to use the remote video file directly in ffmpeg command line like this: ffmpeg -i "http://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/video.mp4" -ss 00:00:10 -vframes 1 -f image2 "image%03d.jpg" ffmpeg just returns: http://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/video.mp4: I/O error occurred Usually that means that input file is truncated and/or corrupted. I also tried forcing ffmpeg to use the videos mp4 container for reading: ffmpeg -f mp4 -i "http://bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/video.mp4" ... But no luck. Wget this video from S3 and processing it locally works fine of course, as well as reading the file remotely from other 'standard' http servers. So I know that ffmpeg supports remote file reading, but why not on S3?

• WCF SERVICE gives us faulted response

  My service is hosted on IIS7, windows 2008 server with sql server2008 express. I am getting following error when the process takes more than 2 minutes i got this response, i m unable to find out either it is due to sql server time out or wcf time out. my sql server process is also took long. An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http://REMOTE/SynchronizationService_test/SyncService.svc. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details.

• Get controller method caller (3rd party webservice)

  Is it possible to retrieve the URL of a 3rd party webservice calling my controller method? Things like Request.Current.Url refer to my own URL (/someController/someAction/). The 3rd party webservice is sending HTTP POST data to my /someController/someAction and I wish to send back a HTTP POST message to the caller of the method, the 3rd party webservice, without using return Content["some response"] which will force me to exit the method. Since the answer is plain text I would like to send it using HTTP Post. What I actually try to do is respond to the calling webservice without exiting my method (return Content() will exit) so I can call other methods to process the data send to me by the webservice. I want to first tell the webservice I received their stuff and than process, in this way when a processing error occurs the webservice at least will not resend old data. Is there another way to do this than building your own HTTP post?

• ReportViewr: Hyperlink to a local file doesn't work

  I need to add 2 type of links to existing report with c#. For exapmle: 1) http://www.google.co.il/ 2) file:///C:/index.html I added the links, but only the "http://" works. when I press the link of "file:///" nothing happens.   Recently I've been using lot of Assembly language in *NIX operating systems. I was wondering about the windows domain. Calling convention in linux: mov $SYS_Call_NUM, %eax mov $param1 , %ebx mov $param2 , %ecx int $0x80 Thats it. That is how we should make a system call in linux. OFFICIAL : ??? If you say, they didn't documented it. Then how is one going to write libc for windows without knowing system calls? How is one gonna do Windows Assembly programming? Atleast in the driver programming one needs to know these. right? Now, whats up with the so called Native API? Is Native API & System calls for windows both are different terms referring to same thing? In order to confirm I compared these from two UNOFFICIAL Sources System Calls: http://www.metasploit.com/users/opcode/syscalls.html Native API: http://undocumented.ntinternals.net/aindex.html My observations: All system calls are beginning with letters Nt where as Native API is consisting of lot of functions which are not beginning with letters Nt. System Call of windows are subset of Native API. System calls are just part of Native API. Can any one confirm this and explain.

• Linux reboot() system call: why it calls do_exit(0) after kernel_halt()?

  This is related to: http://stackoverflow.com/a/13413099/1284631 Now, the question is: Why the reboot() system call, when called with LINUX_REBOOT_CMD_HALT parameter (see here: http://lxr.linux.no/linux+v3.6.6/kernel/sys.c#L480) is calling do_exit(0) after having already called kernel_halt(), as calling kernel_halt() boils down to calling stop_this_cpu() (see here: http://lxr.linux.no/linux+v3.6.6/arch/x86/kernel/process.c#L519), as part of native_machine_halt() (see here: http://lxr.linux.no/linux+v3.6.6/arch/x86/kernel/reboot.c#L680). Or, it seems to me that stop_this_cpu() is never returning (it ends with an infinite loop). So, it is do_exit(0) called just in case that kernel_halt() doesn't do its job and it return? Why not panic() directly instead, then?

  Hi guys, i'm studying the fastcgi developement kit because i'm writing a new scripting language and i'd like to write a fastcgi version of the interpreter to run scripts as webpages. I'm using this example from the sdk, located at /srv/http/bin/echocpp So, in my httpd.conf file, i have the following lines : FastCgiServer /srv/http/bin/echocpp -idle-timeout 120 -processes 4 ScriptAlias / /srv/http/bin/echocpp/ ... ... AddHandler fastcgi-script hy Where 'hy' is the extensions of my scripts. Then, when i try browse, for instance http://localhost/~evilsocket/prime.hy I see all the environment variables as expected from the echo-cpp.cpp programm, except for the SCRIPT_NAME that is empty. Is there something i'm missing out of this? How am i supposed to obtain the full path of the script to run it inside my fastcgi version of the interpreter? Thanks
