• Oracle announces Brand New Tuxedo 11g Release

  Today Oracle introduced two brand new products within the Tuxedo product line of its application grid portfolio. Oracle Tuxedo Application Runtime for CICS and Batch and Oracle Application Rehosting Workbench provide the ability to automate rehosting of mainframe Online and Batch applications to open systems running under Oracle Tuxedo. Oracle Application Rehosting Workbench automates adaptation of COBOL programs, JCL conversion for batch applications, and migration of VSAM files and DB2 data schema. Migration cost, risk, and project length and complexity are dramatically reduced with over 90% of application assets re-hosted on open systems 'as-is'. Impact on the organization is minimized - users are protected from change by support for 3270 green screens, and developers continue to use familiar CICS APIs, batxh functions, and common utilities. • Internet problems

  I have a strange problem. When I copy/paste via ethernet everything is working fine. But when I go to youtube or downloading some files via internet, connection is freezing very often. Just stop downloading and after few minutes continue and than again stop and etc... Could it be hardware problem with network card or motherboard (network is integrated on board)? I am using Ubuntu 14.04 but it happens on live cd distribution of Mint. There is no restrictions cose when I using on same switch my other laptop with linux installed everything working fine.

• XAML2CPP 1.0.1.0

  I upgraded XAML2CPP to fix some bugs and support some new features that will be used in my next tutorial step (that I hope to publish very soon!). Bug fixed: the listbox selection changed event was generated with an incorrect prototype events generated by the XAML tree root element (UserControl) were not handled. New features: XAML2CPP generates panels (dynamically generated XAML subtrees that may be added to a page) and user controls (those will be the object of my next post, stay tuned!). XAML2CPPXRValue class has been added to XAML2CPPbase.h. This class will allow single-line declaration of XRValue objects (I’m lazy!) and destroys automatically objects and string XRValues when the object itself is destroyed. • Getting error-'General Error Mounting Filesystems' while installing ubuntu 12.04 alongside Windows 7 starter edition

  I am trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my HP Mini 110 with 2 gb of ram and Windows 7 starter edition. However, when I try to boot from USB, the Ubuntu screen loads and then shows the message-'General Error Mounting Filesystem'. I have to press Ctrl+D to reboot, and the same process starts again until I remove my pen drive. I have tried making a Live USB from UNetBootin and the software Ubuntu suggests, downloaded from pendrivelinux.com. However, Ubuntu still won't load. I am new to the Ubuntu world and don't know what to do, please help.

• Cannot boot from USB disk with "not a COM32R image" error

  After installing 11.10 on my Dell Studo 15 (Model 1557) laptop, it started to overheat. Recently it even shutdown twice saying that critical temperature has reached even when I was just idling (not even a single program was open except for Firefox). After learning that it is a problem with 3.0.0 kernel I decided to roll back to 10.04 LTS. I have downloaded the most recent 10.04 iso from ubuntu.com and created a live USB using startup disk creator in 11.10. But when I am trying to boot from USB I am getting the following error vesamenu.c32: not a COM32R image I have installed ubuntu from usb stick a couple of dozen times before this and I think it is not a problem with my hardware. Please tell me what to do.

  Are pesticides really the link?  Or is it hereditary?  Pesticides in kids linked to ADHD http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37156010/ns/health-kids_and_parenting/ You’ve got to think this one through.  If the parents already have ADHD, and they buy fruits, don’t have the “patience” to wash the fruit, and the kids end up with larger detectible amounts of pesticides in their bodies – are the pesticides really the cause or is it hereditary? I say, switch the kids around for the real test – sure, let the kids go live at a parent’s house w/ out ADHD for 10 years [clearly I’m kidding] who then consciously chooses NOT to wash the fruit. I read this story and all I could think was that the parents already have ADHD and they end up not washing these fruits and vegetables

• Graphics on boot split into three sections

  I just installed 13.04 onto a new laptop because of the ease of install with the uefi bios. When I boot the system though, the screen is split into three sections each about 640x200 at the top of the screen, with the active terminal mirrored across them. Although I can login, startx fails due to something about a file. I have tried booting with vga=711 and normal nomodeset with no success. Booting the live usb I originally installed from results in the same issue. The graphics driver in the xorg.conf.something from what I can make out is set to vesa, but it could be set to some other four character value that is similar to vesa, hard to tell. How can I fix this? One thing to note, the laptop has two dedicated GT 750m's, along with the intel 4000 built into the processor. This is what it looks like, the purple box is what the grub2 menu was in before boot.

• Ubuntu suddenly won't boot on a Mac

  I installed 11.10 in dual-boot mode following instructions here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MactelSupportTeam/AppleIntelInstallation Everything worked fine, until I recently updated from Mac OS 10.6.x to the latest 10.6.x (this was a minor update prompted by OS X). The update made the rEFIt screen disappear, so I ran Boot Repair and reinstalled rEFIt and everything worked. I accidentally left my computer without power while booted into Ubuntu, until it presumably died or hibernated itself. I have been unable to boot into Ubuntu since. I didn't see the GRUB screen when I selected Linux the rEFIt chooser. Then I reinstalled rEFIt and the Linux option disappeared from the rEFIt chooser. This is a link to the boot info collected by Boot Repair: http://paste.ubuntu.com/755543/ Any help would be appreciated, especially an explanation of what all these components are (EFI, MBR, GPT, GRUB), where they live on disk, how the system knows to find each component, and how they relate to each other. • Shared Data Source name error underscore characters added

  The name of our shared data source in RS (report server) is "AF1 Live Database" (no underscore characters - just spaces between words) and is the same in report builder in VS. However, the following error pops up when the RDL of this report is uploaded onto our company site and run. (error we are receiving...) The report server cannot process the report or shared dataset. The shared data source 'AF1_Live_Database' for the report server or SharePoint site is not valid. Browse to the server or site and select a shared data source. (rsInvalidDataSourceReference) We have no idea why the error reports the shared data source as 'AF1_Live_Database' with underscore characters? As this appears to be the problem that keeps the report from running we are seeking your help, thanks.

• Issue with CSS font color in Webkit in Lion (#444 looks darker than #333)

  I have a strange issue with Safari and Chrome Mac (19.0.1084.54) in OS X Lion. Here it is, very simply put: When I display it in a Webkit browser, text set in Helvetica Neue and color Hex #444 looks a little bolder, and therefore darker, than the same text with an Hex color value of #333. This does not happen at all in Snow Leopard with the exact same browsers (same version). Happens on any website I tried, so I know it's not something related to the CSS of my website. I tried to change it live through the Inspector and it really shows up. • Out Of disk, but still boots

  I have a HP Compaq nx6310 notebook wth 4gb memory & a new 250gb hdd. After installing Ubuntu 12.04, i got an "out of disk" error & was unable to boot. I rebooted in live, instaled & ran Boot Repair then rebooted. Grub menu loaded fine, followed by "out of disk.....press any key to continue". I pressed a key & Ubuntu booted, a bit slow but still booted. • Kernel Panic: Not booting after upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04

  I upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04LTS. Upgrade went fine, even restarted couple of times. Then the next day while booting into Ubuntu, after the grub, it gave the error Kernel panic : not syncing vfs unable to mount root fs on unknown block (0,0). I then booted into live CD and tried the following commands, based on other posts on this forum: sudo fdisk -l As the 8 was on /dev/sda1, sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev Now I got the message: mount: mount point /mnt/dev does not exist Then tried sudo mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc Again got the message: mount point point /mnt/proc does not exist. then tried sudo chroot /mnt Got message: chroot: failed to run comman '/bin/bash': No such file or directory Now have no clue what to do next. Unable to boot into Ubuntu. Please help. Jitesh
