Present were Ms. Damaris Bode, Global IASA Chapter Director and Mr. Uday Batt, President of the Indian Chapter.   Ms. Bode spoke to us about the various benefits IASA offers to its members as well as the various available education courses and certification tracks.   • Transitioning to Transaction Base

    I was actually hired at Oracle Health Sciences to work on the HTB application. Long story short, when HL7 version 3 was relatively new ... Canada made an initial sprint at adoption. Since then progress has slowed. I was part of that initial adoption and learned a lot about the Reference Information Model. At that time we worked mostly with CDA R2 Level 3 (fully coded/ structured xml) documents.HTB is a HL7 v3 RIM-based repository. Love it or hate it, the product is unique in the market place. One of the advantages is the flexibility of the model. You can aggregate information from literally any source system without any HTB data model modification and then use that data in a semantically meaningful way. That's extremely powerful.There is a minor speed bump getting up to speed with HL7 v3, there's no doubt about that. I believe that is why Oracle recruited me from Canada originally - so I could have a running start at HTB. In the near future I'm looking forward to an application deep dive with John Hatem.

  • Compiling Quake 3 in Snow Leopard

    First of all I have Xcode 4 installed in Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I have downloaded the Quake 3 source code 1.32b release but I can't open the Xcode project that is inside the /macosx folder since it is in the old .pbproj format and therefore it throws an "incompatible version" error. Has anyone been able to convert this to a Xcode format or is there any other way to compile the source code in Mac OS X Snow Leopard? Thanks

    I am gettig the following error as "Embedded Net DVR camera1 failed to start preview!" when we are trying to login and view the preview of the cameras on the DVR 8116HCI-S Standalone. There is an IP Address assigned to the same via which we access the same. I checked the site for information here http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_show.asp?id=32. But could not find any useful information relating to the error message. We can access the same via login in from one machine but we are not able to access it from more than one machine.

  • Antenna Aligner Part 10: Updates and emails…

    Since my last post back in July, I’ve not done huge amounts of work on my app for two reasons. Firstly, no time! Secondly, I wanted to leave it out in the wild for a while and see what happened. Well, what happened?  over 1,300 users, that’s what’s happened!  This uptake is beyond my wildest expectations, and apart from a couple of issues that I’ll mention in a minute, most of the feedback has been very positive indeed! I’ve had several emails giving me feedback and reporting issues, all of which I have made a point of replying to immediately. This act alone has met with favourable replies! One of the main issues was with iPad. So it turns out that my app is only accurate in portrait mode. Turning it into landscape will offset the direction by +-90degrees! Whoops! I think I’ve fixed this by disabling the orientation switching, but I have not yet had an iPad to test this on. I had several emails from iPod Touch users claiming the app did not work for them. Specifically, the compass view did not work. On investigation, it turns out that the iPod Touch does not have the compass hardware required to do this. Unfortunately there is no way to exclude iPod Touch’s from the list of supported devices, so I’ve just had to make it very clear in the itunes description that the device is not fully supported.  You can still get the list of transmitters, but you then have to use a real compass to get the bearing. But that’s not the end of the world. Several customers have requested the aerial polarisation to be displayed in the app. I was already working on this, and the data was already there, it was just a case of displaying this in the UI. I have a solution now, and this will be in the next release. Of course, with the Digital switchover in full swing across the UK, there have been one set of data updates (in 1.0.3), and another is due shortly. This reflects the transmitters as they switch over the digital fully and their power output increased. So all in all I’m very pleased with the feedback I’ve had, and I’m looking to get the next release out there by early December (allowing for the 2-3 week Apple approval lag!)

  • What resolution can the eeePC 1001HA/1101HA handle with an external monitor plugged in?

    I would like to buy a new Eee PC 1001HA or 1101HA. I know the max display resolution is: 1024x600 for eeePC 1001 1366x768 for eeePC 1101 But what's the maximum resolution of the graphic board when connecting these two computers to an external LCD monitor? Let's say the external monitor supports a full HD resolution of 1920x1080. Are these eeePC graphic boards able to go up to such resolution? It's really incredible to me how such a useful piece of information is missing everywhere on every ASUS website. EeePCs are very well suited to be connected to external monitor, so I can't believe how difficult is to find out this information. I downloaded the manual, but it's not in there either. So I'm hoping somone has got one and knows the answer.

    "the user profile service failed the logon" i had gotten this error when trying to login last night. i looked it up online and found that this was caused by an error (that is still unfound, apparently) that is causing windows to mark profiles as backup, and that the best way to fix this error is to do a system restore from the repair your computer special boot option. what i would like to know is if there someone happens to know the cause of this error, as i would not like it to happen again. Computer specifications OS: Windows 7 hard-disk check completely clean "repair startup" scan and fix: clean, no problems virus scans with kaspersky: clean (while not the usual information for specifications, i felt this info was more important for this case, any other information can be asked for.

  • Aruba Wireless Controller 200 and AP70 manual

    I have an Aruba wireless system that is currently in use but there is no documentation from the previous person in charge. I have no manuals or login information for the wireless controllers and APs. I checked the Aruba website and you need to register to access the support information but registration isn't instant and takes several days. I've waited for quite a while now and have tried googling and checking the Aruba forums but have found no indication of a manual. What I really need is the ability to reset the controller and APs so I can access the device with the default username and password. There is no reset button on this device so I have no idea how you go about resetting the controller and APs. Hm it seems I can't create a new tag as a new user. If possible can someone add an "Aruba" tag?

    The goal here is to use SSDT SqlPackage to deploy the output of a Visual Studio 2012 Database project… a bit in the same fashion that was detailed here : http://geekswithblogs.net/80n/archive/2012/09/12/vsdb-to-ssdt-part-3--command-line-deployment-with-sqlpackage.exe.aspx   The difference is we want to do it on an environment where Visual Studio 2012 and SSDT are not installed. This might be the case of your Production server.   Package structure So, to get started you need to create a folder named “DeploymentSSDTRedistributable”. This folder will have the following structure :         The dacpac and dll files are the outputs of your Visual Studio 2012 Database project. If your database project references another database project, you need to put their dacpac and dll here too, otherwise deployment will not work. The publish.xml file is the publish configuration suitable for your target environment. It holds connexion strings, SQLVARS parameters and deployment options. Review it carefully. The SqlDacRuntime folder (an arbitrary chosen name) will hold the SqlPackage executable and supporting libraries   Contents of the SqlDacRuntime folder Here is what you need to put in the SqlDacRuntime folder  :      You will be able to find these files in the following locations, on a machine with Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate installed : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DAC\bin : SqlPackage.exe Microsoft.Data.Tools.Schema.Sql.dll  Microsoft.Data.Tools.Utilities.dll Microsoft.SqlServer.Dac.dll C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\Microsoft.SqlServer.TransactSql.ScriptDom\v4.0_11.0.0.0__89845dcd8080cc91 Microsoft.SqlServer.TransactSql.ScriptDom.dll   Deploying   Now take your DeploymentSSDTRedistributable deployment package to your remote machine. In a standard command window, place yourself inside the DeploymentSSDTRedistributable  folder.   You can first perform a check of what will be updated in the target database. The DeployReport task of SqlPackage.exe will help you do that. The following command will output an xml of the changes:   "SqlDacRuntime/SqlPackage.exe" /Action:DeployReport /SourceFile:./Our.Database.dacpac /Profile:./Release.publish.xml /OutputPath:./ChangesToDeploy.xml      You might get some warnings on Log and Data file like I did. You can ignore them. Also, the tool is warning about data loss when removing a column from a table. By default, the publish.xml options will prevent you from deploying when data loss is occuring (see the BlockOnPossibleDataLoss inside the publish.xml file). Before actual deployment, take time to carefully review the changes to be applied in the ChangesToDeploy.xml file.    When you are satisfied, you can deploy your changes with the following command : "SqlDacRuntime/SqlPackage.exe" /Action:Publish /SourceFile:./Our.Database.dacpac /Profile:./Release.publish.xml   Et voilà !  Your dacpac file has been deployed to your database.   • Where can I compare monitors with a given VESA mount?

    I am looking into purchasing a dual-monitor setup, and need to purchase two monitors with VESA MIS-D mounts. My only problem is that that information doesn't seem to be readily available on most shopping websites. Neither Amazon nor Newegg seem to have the information searchable or filterable. I could shop for monitors, then Google around to see if they support VESA MIS-D, but is there a better way? Is there a resource (not necessarily a store - once I find a monitor I can shop elsewhere) where I can browse a variety of monitor specs and reviews while only looking at monitors with a certain VESA mount?
