• WCF multithreaded calls

  Hi all, We have developed a multithreaded server that recieves data from multiple client and calls different WCF services. There are many cases that two (or more) different clients call the server at the same and the server tries to call the remote WCF from two different threads simultaneously. We have encountered some issues, especially when the remote WCF service is down. Are we doing things correctly? is there a best practice for this scenario? thanks, Guy.

• Having a POST'able API and Django's CSRF Middleware

  I have a Django webapp that has both a front-end, web-accessible component and an API that is accessed by a desktop client. However, now with the new CSRF middleware component, API requests from the desktop client that are POST'ed get a 403. I understand why this is happening, but what is the proper way to fix this without compromising security? Is there someway I can signal in the HTTP header that it's an API request and that Django shouldn't be checking for CSRF or is that a bad strategy?

  Assuming that I cannot run something like this with Fabric: run("svn update --password 'password' .") how's the proper way to pass to Fabric the password for the remote interactive command line? I am not sure, but the svn server we're using might have some restrictions to not allow --non-interactive passwords and I couldn't find a way to automatically update a remote repo.

  Hello everyone I'm trying to use APIKit to scan my codes to detect if there is private API. apiscanner should run as ./apiscanner ~/Desktop/MyPath/myapp.app I used command 'cd' go to the directory where apiscanner is. But if I call ./apiscanner ~/Desktop/MyPath/MyApp.app on terminal it reports Last login: Sun Jun 13 07:22:07 on ttys002 unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap logout Even if I copy the files apiscanner and doit to MyPath, then execute, I get the same problem. • Accessing Sharepoint 2007 documents outside network

  Hello, I just installed MOSS 2007 and configure it on a machine. The machine is not in a domain. When I try to create a new document in my document library (Server is on a remote location and my laptop is not a part of the domain), MS Word 2007 opens, asks me for login credentials 3 times and then disappears leaving me with a new blank word document. Is there any way to enable remote access of MOSS 2007 documents? Thanks :)

  I configured Mercurial on IIS 7 and I am able tu push and pull without problems some test files. If I try tu push a bigger repository I get for the hg push command line this error : abort: error: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host From Tortoise HG I get some more detail: lopen error [Errno 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host Is seemed to me some kind of connection timeout for the CGI but I extended the cgi timeout properties in IIS7 configuration. What could be the problem?

  My application written in C# makes use of the MessageQueue class in .NET for communicating messages with another remote application and the MessageQueue should always be "connected" (heartbeat present) with the remote messageQueue under all circumstances. If it is not "connected", then it signals that something is wrong and my application will need to perform some actions such as updating an event log. • Why is file_get_contents() faster than using fsock_open()?

  In PHP, sometimes I want to send an HTTP request to a remote site just to look at the response headers, so I declare it all manually and use the fsock_open() function. However, this goes much slower than calling file_get_contents() with a remote URL (which loads the whole page content). Why is this? Is there a good alternative way to get just the response headers (to check if a page returns a 404 error, for example) that works as fast as file_get_contents()?

  Hi, There are a number of questions about this and a number of possible causes and thus far ive tried them all with no success. situation: i have an app that needs a db to work, onstartup it does a SmoApplication.EnumAvailableSqlServers(false) to get all the instances on the network, shows the user a dropdown, they pick one and i go connect to my db on that server. all good problem: this works on my machine, the guys next to me and others. HOWEVER it doesnt work on one of the tech guys machines (and potentially others). we are all on the same network domain, physically connected (no wireless), all logged on with network user names, all running the same sql express 2005 sp3, though im using win7 the other guys are running xppro. MSSMS on all machines can see all the instances when you select "Browse for more". yet on this one tech guys machine it lists his local instance (since its hardcoded to) and all the network servers, but has no instances names? i.e. .sqlexpress server1 server2 server3 server4 but on my machine and others we get: .sqlexpress server1/sqlexpress server2/sqlexpress server3/sqlexpress server4/sqlexpress the code im using: ' .... some code ' this populates my datatable dtServers = SmoApplication.EnumAvailableSqlServers(False) '.... some code '.... then later i ShowServers(...) Notes: ive tried firewall 1433, 1434 i can connect using a udl with full SERVERNAME\INSTANCENAME the browser service is running locally and on the remote machine ive tried stopping and restarting both the browser service on the local and remote machine. Ideas?

• A PHP design pattern for the model part [PHP Zend Framework]

  I have a PHP MVC application using Zend Framework. As presented in the quickstart, I use 3 layers for the model part : Model (business logic) Data mapper Table data gateway (or data access object, i.e. one class per SQL table) The model is UML designed and totally independent of the DB. My problem is : I can't have multiple instances of the same "instance/record". For example : if I get, for example, the user "Chuck Norris" with id=5, this will create a new model instance wich members will be filled by the data mapper (the data mapper query the table data gateway that query the DB). Then, if I change the name to "Duck Norras", don't save it in DB right away, and re-load the same user in another variable, I have "synchronisation" problems... (different instances for the same "record") Right now, I use the Multiton pattern : like Singleton, but multiple instances indexed by a key (wich is the user ID in our example). But this is complicating my developpement a lot, and my testings too. How to do it right ?

• pthreads_setaffinity_np: Invalid argument?

  I've managed to get my pthreads program sort of working. Basically I am trying to manually set the affinity of 4 threads such that thread 1 runs on CPU 1, thread 2 runs on CPU 2, thread 3 runs on CPU 3, and thread 4 runs on CPU 4. After compiling, my code works for a few threads but not others (seems like thread 1 never works) but running the same compiled program a couple of different times gives me different results. • Why my VPN doesn't work anymore?

  I have openvpn server running on debian lenny. There is only one client - and it is running Windows 7 64-bit. This has worked for few months without any problems. And now, let's say for the last 7 days, it doesn't work at all. I connect successfully from client to the server, but I can't access anything through VPN. I have set it up so that all internet traffic is routed through VPN, and now when I connect with the client, the client can't do anything on the net (open any webpage, ping google, anything ...). Can you help me to figure out what's wrong ? I don't know where to start. I've also tried to connect to another openvpn server (I've installed and configured openvpn on another server, and when I try to connect to it result is the same). So I think there's something wrong with client ...   As far as I see, git pull someRemote master tries to merge the remote branch into mine. Is there a way to say "Completely discard my stuff, just make me another clone of the remote" using git pull?   I'm looking to create a Mercurial hook that pushes to a backup remote repository when I push to a local repository. I thought I could hook the 'outgoing' hook, but this creates a infinite loop that isn't pretty. So is there like a post-push hook, or would it be best to have the repository I am pushing to have an 'incoming' hook to push the to the remote backup instead?

• python glob and bracket characters ('[]')

  /Users/smcho/Desktop/bracket/[10,20] directory has "abc.txt", but when I run this python code import glob import os.path path1 = "/Users/smcho/Desktop/bracket/\[10,20\]" pathName = os.path.join(path1, "*.txt") print glob.glob(pathName) It returns empty list. Can't python's glob doesn't handle the bracket letters or others? Is there any way to solve this problem?
